Sign him to a two way already

Was it Brimah that laid that guy out with a pick?
Sign him to a two way alreadyYeah. That was him. Looked much more like he knew what he was doing than when he started in Austin. Metu's pnr work looked like he could actually make the main team. Walker has to pick up another NBA level skill to get out of Austin. White is ready.

Metu wasn't terrible either, gonna spend a ton of time in Austin but he looked like the Spurs best 2nd round pick in about 10 years tbh.
Agreed. Dude ccouldn't stop fouling tho..

Depending on what Spurs have roster looks like, I wouldn't be upset with Eubanks being added for PF/C depth.
Yeah. I liked what he was doing out there alot. Dude is solid. Does he have range?

just watched spurs jazz game.
White is a baller, can score, pass, shoot.... deserve to play mooore next year
I'm ok with Walker, active, some shoots not falling, will need to make good choices but overall i'm ok with him
Inside Eubanks or Brimah didn't look bad but i don't know if they could make the roster.

Watching now. Not impressed with White. I mean, I'm not worried either, since it's the first game. But I was hoping he'd look more like Anderson and less like Forbes. People underestimate how good Kyle was that year. He was literally unguardable and was canning threes at a high rate. Really sucks that they couldn't get that guy consistently.
Anyways, Walker's gonna need some coaching. We knew that, but as it is right now, he doesn't deserve minutes. To put it into perspective, I was critical of Murray's first SL game, but he was way better than Lonnie was. Best part about Walker is that he was aggressive in taking shots. He was too aggressive, but that's not an issue in the summer league. He can work on that shot-selection starting next summer, because he'll have the green light in Austin. If anything, I was annoyed that Hardy ran three guards, including two PGs, to start the game. White should be the primary ball-handler, and Walker should get the nod as the second. They'll be plenty of time for those guys to be off the ball in training camp and pre-season. A scrub named after a city shouldn't factor in here.
Blossom has been forgettable so far, and that sucks for him. He really needed to develop a defensive skill-set that would give him a real niche in the NBA. Dude needs to be the designated stopper going forward. I liked Putney as well. Dude has legit size, length and explosiveness. But he's seriously almost as old as I am. If he were even five years younger, I'd be excited. Now, um, maybe he can get a two-way deal? Spurs sure don't need to fuck around with guards again.
I liked that Metu was handling the ball at points during the first half. It didn't really work, but beating guys on a faceup from behind the arc was never going to be his thing. He was aggressive in trying to protect the glass, though that didn't really work for him. Hope he can get chemistry with the guards, because his success as a roll-man will determine if he'll be able to hold a top-15 spot. Brimah looked Brimish: he blocked some shots, dunked whenever he could, and boarded well. But his general ability as a rim-protector -- as in not just as a shot-blocker -- has left something to be desired. Thought he got caught in no man's land too much on PnR defense and he got beat to the rim other times. Not expecting much. Eubanks was better in that regard, though he as a bit too jumpy. I love the Walker pick, but damn it would be nice to have a legit big prospect in the system.
I'm interested in seeing how the roster gels. The title-winning squad from a few years ago had a rough going in Utah as well. They had a better "star" on that team and got a second once Jon join for Vegas. The team was also better constructed, with rolling, defensive-minded bigs, wings that could shoot and pesky guard defenders. This squad doesn't even have a big as good as Ndoye. However, they can still take advantage of what they do have, which is a dynamic back court and bigs who are legit lob threats. On that note, I hope we see Hamilton play soon. I'm very curious to see how he looks against NBA athletes. He seemed worryingly slow in college, but he showed some interesting skills. And while I'm not nearly as bullish on Hanlan as I was last year, they need to cut the chord on Ledbetter and Perrantes. Neither guy will never be on the team, but at least they can sign with other clubs. Give Olivier a chance and them let him go.

:toast Agree that it will be interesting to see how they gel and "grow". Right now White is the only player that looks like he deserves rotation minutes but this is just the beginning. Last season they also had a poor start in Utah. I actually expected more from last season's team since they had Bertans.
This team has a couple of athletic bigs that are indeed lob threats and that wasn't available in the other teams. Will be interesting to watch the chemistry going forward.

Yep don’t judge Walker an 18th draft pick. Just look at Trae Young first game first half 0 for 6 two shots not even hitting rim and he was drafted as a shooter and was first round 5th pick! I am sure his team is not calling and looking to trade him. Lol

White and Murray would work pretty well together especially if Dejounte has been working on the corner 3. White is by far the superior offensive player but could set Murray up with some good scoring opportunities considering Dejounte is a pretty good cutter. I think the fit would be pretty good tbh.

It's also important to note that White is 24 and a 2nd year player. It'd be a disaster if he wasn't dominating summer league :lol
That said, I think he's clearly the best guard on the team and should be in line for 20-25 mins a night next season easily....
I could definitely see a 10/3/3 line on 22mpg no problem....
:lol
let us enjoy our small good news. White is a baller.

Just part of the development process. You play too may games in a row and there's not as much learning to be done. They probably want him to watch the game to get some perspective, then play another game to apply what he learned. Not saying it's right or wrong but it's effective sometimes.

This is why i feel the combo guard title is apt... On his scouting report it said he didn't handle the trap well. Typically points can break traps with relative ease. Re White... Another reason Murray and White could work well... helps relieve the pressure.

Brimah's physical tools are off the charts but his feel for the game and basketball IQ leaves a lot to be desired... Not to mention he's got bad hands among other things. As for Eubanks, I don't think I've seen him make one mistake yet in all his time on the floor. He's got solid 3rd string potential.

Hope he gets a two way. Matt Costello has a G League lifer skill set. Eubanks has the size, mobility, athleticism to at least be a 3rd stringer for awhile, maybe even fringe rotation player... for now at least... You can tell he's been well coached cause he doesn't do anything out of him self. Doesn't really make mistakes. He's the perfect bench big you bring in when someone is making careless mistakes.

He’s not a great color analyst - agreed. But Ron Boone was an excellent scorer in the ABA (3rd all-time leading scorer). He and Louie Dampier were the top 3-Pt shooters. I actually watched him play for the Dallas Chaps at the Memorial Auditorium when I was a kid.

Really impressed by how White is able to keep his dribble alive and make plays either for himself or others.
Putney has a nice stroke from 3. At 6'10" and his high arcing shot he gives his shot a nice chance to go in. The guy just has no weight to him though...listed at 185 lbs.

White was double teamed the entire second half. What's amazing that he was still able to keep his dribble, break the double team and still make a play for his team.
The gems in the draft are the players who can take the teaching resources that the NBA gives and make themselves into a much better player. Hardy may be right about White improvement to be massive.

He made them around the basket and mid-range shots. I don't like his shot mechanics though. To summarize, a PF in a SF body.

Mulitinov is with Serbia NT actually.
About metu, i agree he needs To add some bulk , what i really like is his footwork. I Watch it a little bit in those Two summer league games and it’s Pretty good.
Like Tony and Manu, learning soccer in your youth helps your footwork.

Finally watched the tape of the Utah-Spurs game. While I dont think Walker covered himself with glory I don’t think he was the bust some here seem to be panicking about. He showed some very good tools on defense with his length and quickness, moved his feet well, disrupted some plays. On offense he missed a lot of shots but his form was good and the shots weren’t Murrayesque in being nowhere close to the basket. He seemed to get a little more aggressive on offense toward the end putting the ball on the floor. I think it’s WAY to early to pass judgement on him.
Allen did look like a good pick up for the Jazz.

Yup. Too early to tell. Lonnie showed some good flashes in defensive-end since his offense is already decent and somehow better compared to the other current Spur. I mean it's an 18th pick, it's not like you'll instantly expect him to be star or instant contributor. I'll more going to panic if I'm a Hawks fan, they traded Luca (who is still a question mark as well) to Tray who already showed some disappointment (chucker, defensive liability) in his first two games considering there's a lot of expectation to him.

I get the youthful exuberance of White and his hair, but he needs to go bald. Seriously. It looks like a black wildfire is chasing his head right now.

:lol
He's too young to accept he's balding already (common problem imo)... I'd say, Let him enjoy the last of his mane b4 he can't have an any, specially if his lady friend doesn't have a problem.

Yeah.. if the significant other enjoys it (if there is one and she's a damn good one...), then it's all good, I guess. Not going to generally argue with that.

From the vision I've seen last year & this year, I think Derrick White will have the ball in his hands more than Murray. It's not that he's dominating summer league & g-league, it's the fact that he's polished in all areas & has good instincts & vision. He's handles are tight, footwork is good, shot is good, but most importantly, he's able to make multiple decisions about whether to shoot or pass very decisively. He's not overly quick or athletic, but he could be a Jamaal Tinsley (but with a better jumper) type when he was playing really well for 3 or 4 seasons in Indiana.

Putney has got massive wingspan. Some highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ1bDexZnio
I guess a 3-and-D wannabe. Brihma has got wingspan but is clueless. Putney has a better basketball instincts. He's was undrafted in 2015. Appears to be a poor man's Austin Daye.
Poor man's Austin Daye? Are we playing Talent Limbo?
