We just did not want to admit it. Stop hating on Kawhi. Am glad that he did write that thank you letter, and so happy that he acknowledges Pop, his teammates, and the fans. Notice how he ommits the Spurs org? As others have already said in this forum, it was someone from the Spurs org that said or did things to alienate Kawhi. For all I know it could be one of the Holts. We all kinda knew we were in trouble when we had a new owner.

Lol. The letter was disingenuous. The media and his actions were almost detrimental and we might've had to rebuild and who knows Pop might've quite.
Last but not least read the 2nd paragraph of the letter. Clearly he thanks the Spurs org. Lol. Kawhi is just officially putting something on record to mask the terrible actions of his group for now. History will always remember.

I doubt he was about that. I gues it was more about what DPG21920 (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=13014) posted, there is a chance of Spurs owners to sell the team.
If that's the case, I'd love the Spurs having some russian millonaire who wouldn't care about going over tax, building a superteam with 3-4 stars to compete with GSW.

Rebuilding is the retarded way to go and the biggest FU to the fans. Rebuilding is also overrated in today's NBA where "stars" are Beta-minded and trying to push this mindset as the new normal and dependent upon too many variables and almost never works. Boston worked but really was pushed with the signing of major FAs and they also seem better than they are playing in the lousiest conference in sport history and Philadelphia took a decade and waffled half their picks anyways, so it wasn't really a successful as a rebuild when you consider it took twice the time it should have with as many lottery picks as they've had.
Either compete in a league where there are only 2-3 legit contenders every season with those being the Warriors, their closest competition in the West and the token rep of the shitty East or try and take a long ass rebuild approach that is 50-50 at best and probably worry about the talent you hope pans out leaving to join a bunch of other like minded pansies in major markets.
I hate the NFL because it's boring as fuck and tedious to watch, but their fans mindset of rooting and supporting their teams and the league parity is correct. The NBA is becoming the NCAA to be honest and it's killing the product.

Not sure big time owners could see a return in SA. The education, income, and fortune 500 corporations are still relatively low in SA unless we can build a stadium in North SA suburb to tap the Austin market.

Austin has been top rated #1 city to live by US News like 4 out of 5 past years, soaring RE prices, most liberal city in Texas (young professionals love it), fastest growing large city in TX, and Cowboys and Longhorns are more about football. You put a NBA franchise near them, it will flourish.

Doubt it. I don't have any official stats but I'm pretty sure NBA is the fastest growing sports among young kids and young adults. Anyway, it seems a waste not to tap the Austin market when it's only 1.5 hours away. A stadium in New Braunsfel would be a great spot. 1 hour from Austin, 45 minutes from downtown SA. Attendance has looked horrible past few years despite the Spurs success and SA growth. Austin has more higher income residents plus they will have even more corporate sponsors buying up suites and tickets like Dell and maybe even Amazon if they do choose Austin.

Really I-35 between San Antonio and Austin needs 8 lanes going both ways... the hold up in traffic is outrageous. A vacuum tube high-speed train (1,000 passengers) between both cities would also be awesome (12 minute transit). I thought I saw plans where Austin was considering the transport option with Dallas (35 minute transit).

You don't make any sense. Drives within Houston and Dallas easily reach over 1.5 - 2 hours in traffic. Everyone seems to make games just fine. It may not be prudent yet but sooner or later SA and Austin will share markets once Austin's growth takes over San Marcos.

the fact that San Antonians don't make it to the games is the reason why this even makes sense and is even a discussion topic. Dallas and Houston have ridiculous traffic. Austin is just as bad but there are more willing participants if (transportation) like a rail line hwy expansion and more is implemented. Ticket prices will rise, their budget to go over the cap will rise too.
The problem is if in the future Austin and San Antonio are competitors of fortune 500 companies, sports franchises, etc, eventually Austin will win (might take 20 years) but they will be much more attractive than SA for MLS, NFL, NHL, MLB franchises. Just saying. Might as well move it forward before you get passed by. SA will always have the Spurs though I believe. But it could improve is what I'm saying.

The Spurs are not for sale and are not moving anywhere. The Holts are friends of ours and the racist bullshit from a couple of posters here is getting old. Peter and Julianna do not have a racist bone in their body. And for the record Julianna is a hell of a businesswoman and she will continue running the Spurs as the class of all professional sports. The Spurs are going to be fine. If you have a problem with Whites, Latinos, Blacks, Native Americans, Asians or any other race or ethnicity then take it to one of the faker Lakers boards. Those boards are full of hatred and deep anger towards other people that are not exactly like them. We are all equal and should be able to get along without tearing each other down over every word posted. Chill and be happy! Grab a cold one and enjoy it. Life is too short.

One thing that I have always admired about the Spurs is that they had lots of international players over the years on their roster. And I never considered them racist. They wouldn't have drafted players like DJ and Lonnie, or even Kawhi to begin with, if that was the case. That is obvious, in my eyes.
My thread was never about racism or gender some other poster insinuated. It is about the Holts going through a divorce and kinda losing control of the org, is it a coincidence that LA, Tony and Kawhi wanted out???. Everyone hates on Kawhi's uncle, but the reality is this; the Spurs had something to do with it. Not Pop or the players, but someone from the org did something to make Kawhi want to leave.

I won't spend much time on Kawhitter but, he 'QUIT' on the Spurs, plain and simple. Adults get together and work things out. Kawhitter never did that until he was forced to at the end of this fiasco. His uncle was the reason for this child's play. Kawhitter and his family wanted him in LA and not SA. They played it horribly. Kawhitter better have one hell of a season with the Raptors or he'll be done as far as ever being what his uncle wanted for him. Yes the Lakers will go after him but, he will not be able to handle 50 reporters cameras and microphones in his face after every game and practice. Kawhitter is just not built for the kind of scrutiny he'll be faced with.
As for Mrs. Holt, just what the hell do you actually know about her? You don't know a damn thing. Stop with your 4th grade gossip crap. Julianna would have and would today sit down with any Spurs player or possible player. However, that is not how it works. Owners rarely ever get between the team they've hired to negotiate contracts, i.e., GM, Head Coach, etc., and the player during contract negotiations! The exceptions are Jerry Jones and the Buss family. The Spurs did everything they could to keep Kawhitter but, he and his family avoided the Spurs organization like the plague. The Spurs medical team which is in the top 10 of all pro sports teams (NBA, NFL, MLB & MLS) cleared Kawhitter to play but, they let him get a 2nd opinion. And then a 3rd and a 4th. Tony's injury was far, far more serious and he came back in record time because he had the heart of a champion and wanted to be on the team playing with his teammates. The only reason Tony left the Spurs is he knew at his age the Spurs needed to transition. It was a mutual and amicable decision between Tony and Pop. Tony still loves San Antonio and plans to live here when he retires. LMA and Pop sat down like grown men and worked that situation out like adults do. Neither Julianna nor Peter had anything to do with it at all, before or after. It was all about how LMA felt he was not being used in the best way for his assets. And look at LMA's year last season. He was like the Portland LMA.
Your original post and follow ups were pure crap, i.e., made up 'FAKE News' and gossip. If you're going to make stuff up then put a 'TIC' at the beginning or end of your post. And gender and race should not be injected onto this board. If it is a political themed post then post it on the political board. I also will say I have nothing against you personally. And gender and race should not be injected onto this board. If it is a political themed post then post it on the political board. I also will say I have nothing against you personally. I just don't appreciate someone attacking a friend (male or female) with no basis in fact. The Spurs are going to be fine for the long haul and will be in San Antonio for a long, long time.
Peace and out...:bobo
Are you listening to yourself, buddy? That's the definition of slavery, when a person has no say on where he wants to work. Huh?! Athletes are free to go if they wish, teams do it all the time. Why players can't?
And I am not making stuff, and unlike yourself I can't speak for other people. It was reported by a highly respected person here that someone rubbed Kawhi the wrong way. Oh and the Spurs never offered him an extension. How do you know he turns it down???????

I've said my piece. You are not worth arguing with as you live in some alternate reality. Believe what you want but, you are not even close to the truth about any of this. Feel free to keep kissing Kawhitter's ass. Hell, for all any of us know, you may even be the uncle. Kawhitter is no longer a Spur so I'm finished with the Kawhiitter. As for the Holt's get your fake stories and posts correct. Nobody likes a liar.

You're way off. You really don't know what you're saying. Just go join the Raptors forum already.
Yeah...Like I'm the ONLY ONE guy saying it, right? You already know that we have heard this for years.
