They played a competitive game against Utah yesterday so the Spurs should be more well-rested. Dirk remains out with a foot injury, but will be our first time facing the Wonderboy Luka Doncic. Pau's historic problem: he makes amazing numbers but his game doesn't reflect them. By contrast, watching him play looks like he's coasting or simply not playing hard enough. Hugely talented and smart player still contributing all around at 38 years old.

This summer he clearly did his homework and came to the training camp in good shape. He looks better coming from the bench and not facing starting units. This is the main difference between his last year as starting C and this season as replacing center.

Carlisle is a great coach for making bad players look decent, but he's not great at using actual talent, which is why guys like Rondo and Noel didn't work out.
