Reggie REALLY wants DeRozan to close this game.
No Reggie wants us to lose the game that's why he wants Demar taking shots when everyone knows it has to be LMA

Because White has to defend Westbrook and the Spurs have no other defenders. It's not like Forbes or Mills or Marco would do much better on George.

Westbrook defends himself.

Also, Bertans >>>>> DeRozan on defense.

If DeRozan would have been benched on crunch time this would have been a double digits win for the Spurs on regulation.

Lamarcus just scored more points than Steph ever has, and since 2010, only AD has scored more as a big man (Demarcus matched him). Insane performance.

Since 1991, only one game by Shaq had a higher number of points scored with zero three point attempts than LMA tonight.

Spurs have five of eight top scoring performances this season of guys who’ve taken zero three attempts.

David Robinson - 71

2. Lenny Wilkins - 1,332

Yeah Paul George's 3 should've definitely counted for sure but the refs did waive off an DDR layup in double OT because he pushed off slightly. Like to think it was evenish.

OKC fans have a right to gripe, it should've been a 4 point play when they were down 146-152 but they ruled the foul occurred before George took the shot (probably would've counted had it been in regulation. Also George got T'ed up after getting fouled on made layup in OT.

DeRozan was a legit cancer this game. Like horrible. Not just poor shooting but fucking up the flow, making dumb passes, dumb decisions on both ends of the court. Some of their scrubs had fluky ass games. Chimbrook shot over 50% which is unheard of for him. Oh and thunderefs helped out too.

DeRozan's recent struggles are concerning. I'm also reading that Marco got the ball stolen with 5 seconds left that tied the game for OKC. Were they trying to foul but Marco stupidly turned the ball over?

Great win, but still can't get over how cancerous DeRozan was most of the game. If playoff DeRozan rears his ugly head like he did tonight Pop needs to realize it and bench him, especially when there are other options like he had tonight. You had LMA playing unconciously and several bench players playing well in multiple facets yet you stick with someone continuously fucking up on both sides of the ball.

Raptors benched him last year in the playoffs when he was playing exactly like he was playing tonight.I have the outmost confidence that Pop will bench him as well.I am also pretty sure he will need to be benched at close games in the playoffs.

Dude was a trainwreck. It's not just the bad offensive choice, play after play, hero ball instead of moving the ball just to brick a long two, wrong positioning and bad passing.Noooo,he takes screwing up the clutch in another dimension.

That foul on Adams while PG was shooting the 3 had me close to sending a punch through my TV.I couldn't believe my eyes.

what a game ... I knew I was in for a ride when I opened League Pass app and started to watch the tape as it showed a running time of over three hours. glad we won ... LA was a beast while Derozan is falling off more and more ... he gets frustrated too easy by phisical play which is why he sucks in the playoffs

why did we not shoot more three pointers? after three quartes okc seemed to take that one out of our game ... another reason for LA‘s career high

Gotta give it to Westbrook. What a display of lightning fast decision making and passing after breaking down our d again and again and again.

Not the full game but after every game someone posts 10 minute highlights on youtube that do a great job of encapsulating the game.

Demar has not been able to adjust . His ball dominant off the dribble moves a arnnt working. Let the offense come to you when you have a teammate scoring 50.

DeRozan's recent struggles are concerning. I'm also reading that Marco got the ball stolen with 5 seconds left that tied the game for OKC. Were they trying to foul but Marco stupidly turned the ball over?

Beli was struggling to protect it from WB so PG took the ball from his blind side.

Benching him eliminates a star from the team though.

There's gotta be a way for him to work on that mental stuff he goes through. He must learn to deal with bad/disappointing reffing, physical play, multiple misses and all that.

He's a talented guy and should be able to play off the ball. Didn't like watching him try to iso PG and getting owned.

Maybe Pop let him in to show some trust and let DD work through it. Everybody in the team must be seeing what's going on. He even shows it with body language.

DeRozan missed a lot of shots he usually makes last night. And part of the reason was because he had guys like Russell Westbrook and Paul George and Jerami Grant guarding him and he had little to no space.

Pop made the right call to stick with DDR. The guy has to figure out how to contribute, even when his shot isn't falling. This team won't accomplish much unless DDR plays well when it matters.

If there's a way to work on his mental stuff i'm sure Pop and the rest of the coaching staff will do their best. They have worked wonders in that department with LMA,so they are to be trusted.

But the established route of helping a player get out of a mental slump, when the game isn't flowing as it usually does for him,is pretty simple.Pull him out early, talk to him on the bench to reassure him, wait till they sub out the primary defender, send your player in to find his groove against easier match ups.
I don't know how many times that will work with DD.

The way his body language expresses his frustration is pretty graphic.Everytime he had a bad play on offence or defence he showed that emotion pilling up in his mind.
On the other hand the man wants to win obviously,he cares about the game,he wants to succeed,he is passionate.
It looks like nobody ever taught him how to channel that passion into game winning plays in the clutch.Who was the veteran that mentored him as a kid up in Canada?

I was in Argentina in April 2005 -- right before that great playoff run that ended in Game 7 vs. the defending champs Detroit.

Even the soccer-mad Argies were talking about Manu, especially if you got outside of Buenos Aires. "50 points" I can still hear them say in English. I could have sworn Manu scored 50 in April 2005.

White and Murray might be the perfect pairing and it sucks that we can't see if thats the case. Throw Lonnie in to the mix and we might continue to be spoiled like the Duncan era. Lets hope they stay healthy though. Go Spurs!

I wasn't thrilled that the fans booed Kawhi when he returned (I was at the game and just gave him the silent treatment which he was much more deserving of).

But I have to say I think all that negative (and positive) excitement may have really bonded this team.

I think these new guys may have looked up at those banners and been somewhat intimidated by the Spurs history. Like they were just impostors who didn't really belong in this championship setting.

But when those new guys saw how much they were supported by the crowd and how Kawhi was scorned, it seemed as though they finally felt they were a part of the Spurs and worthy of that legacy.

It was something you could actually feel at that game.

That's a very good point... They probably felt that Spurs were about accountability and respect and that if they were giving that they'd belong... That's was the occasion to create a connection with the fans, the organisation and its history, by not letting Kawhi get the last laugh in SA, even it was just symbolic.

I guess Patty certainly, and to some extent LMA and Rudy, must have make them understand this one was important for the fans...

that's also maybe the game where Demar turned the page and really accepted, embraced he was a spur and put Toronto behind him (even though it will always be his team, unless maybe he wins a ship in SA... hey who knows ?), his frist trip dub also as a symbol...

This game was a little greek tragedy in itself with Kawhi's treason, fans revenge, and Oedipus with DDr killing his father Toronto...

It was something you could actually feel at that game. Great take. I go to most games, but was not wanting to go to that game. Mainly because I don't like the guy and didn't want to spend the night booing him. However I think it was obviously necessary and for the team to come together put it to nephew. I do get you preferring the 'silent treatment' to the booing. Either way I think nephew and uncle got what they had coming. Great time for DDR to express himself...it was an intense night emotionally I'm sure.
