I don't have sympathy for the Patriots fans that bandwagoned the Niners tbh. Only real Niners fans. Except Larry.

"In evaluating these two teams, though, there's one significant weakness that stands out: the Chiefs' run defense. Against most teams, the Chiefs are simply too devastating on offense for their 29th-ranked run defense to matter. The 49ers have feasted on those terrible run defenses in 2019, scoring 51 points on the 32nd-ranked Panthers, 31 points on the 30th-ranked Browns and 41 points on the 28th-ranked Bengals. Furthermore, if you were trying to build a defense for Shanahan to exploit in the passing game, you'd want to build one that was overmatched at linebacker and free safety.

The Chiefs have been able to overcome sloppy play on defense and special teams by scoring at an astronomical, unsustainable rate on offense, even by Mahomes' incredible standards. The 49ers won't shut down Mahomes, and I would be worried about a fourth-quarter comeback if the 49ers are winning once the pass rush begins to tire and Reid finds a weakness, but this is the best defense Mahomes has faced during the postseason by a considerable margin. The 49ers should be better along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in this game, and that has won football games for a century now. If Mahomes can overcome those advantages and still guide Reid to his first Super Bowl victory, we'll be lucky enough to see it. 49ers 27, Chiefs 23"

Excellent write up.

Would you have said that if 3rd Cousins did the same and won SB MVP? Just curious. ;)

I don't exactly what you're saying. There's a case for Mahomes though. But there's a case for Watkins, Hill, Williams too.

Williams fucked what was a sure TD by simply stop running the route he was suppossed to run. Then was gifted a TD when he stepped out of bounds instead of throwing himself into the goal-line. And then got a garbage time TD when he should have just kneeled to run out the clock. By actually scoring the TD he gave the Niners a better chance of coming back than if he had just kneeled. He didn't deserve MVP. If it wasn't Mahomes, I think Chris Jones could have had it.
Fair enough. I se what you mean, I think, though it doesn't matter as long as they ringed of course.

Jimmy Garoppolo already has a lifetime of bad memories of playing vs. the Chiefs and he's only played them three times.

1) 2014 Week 3, he comes in and actually plays well but the Patriots get trounced, rumors circulate about Brady leaving, but Belichick shuts them down, Garoppolo never gets a legit chance with the Patriots

2) 2018 Week 3, he fully tears his ACL and has to rehab for 9 months, missing the rest of the season

3) 2020 Super Bowl LIV, chokes away the biggest game of them all despite being up 10 with the football midway through the 4th quarter.

The 44 yard completion should have been brought back and KC faced a 3rd and 25. At that point Mahomes probably commits another turnover like he was all 2nd Half

Brilliant how 49ers penalty yardage increased by x5 (from Conference final) and yet the league and media darling slashed their penalty yardage by 3/4. Against a superior opponent and closer game? Not a single hold against the best defensive line in recent history.

I guess then my post this morning was pretty accurate. Wasps including hornets are a pretty lazy creature most of the time but when they get going, they have the most lateral agility of any flying insect/flying animal on earth. Like literally they can fly one way and then back the other way 180 degrees without circling back, making them a scary enemy to behold, and Hill fittingly is ridiculously agile like the wasp/hornet.

:lol pretending Rodgers is near Mahomes' level in 2020. Maybe in 2011 he was close, but even then Rodgers didn't have anything like Mahomes' raw athleticism even though he was decent at scrambling, he never could have dreamed about making that ridiculous run with his legs that Mahomes did right before halftime of the Titans game.

Also the Chiefs offensive line stinks. Rodgers has had great tackles and solid overall OL play the vast majority of his career. Once the Chiefs figure out how to get a real Oline their offense will be unstoppable series to series.

Against common opponent: Rodgers had a superior performance in the NFC title game than Mahomes and the Packers offensive line wasn't permitted to hold for 4 quarters.

I get it. Mahomes is a better scrambler, throws no look passes and has tan skin. But on the field of play he is a tier below Aaron. Rodgers with that roster and coaching is downright scary.

I don't know if I would say Wilson is just as good as Mahomes, but he's the closest QB to him. Basically anything Mahomes can do Wilson can also do at similar levels of play.

One thing I know for sure is that Wilson would be putting better number than Mahomes if both switched places. Wilson under Reid with all those offensive weapons, and Mahomes under archaic "must always get a 1 yd run play on every 1st down" Carroll.

Huh? He's spent most of the past decade with Bakhtiari and Bulaga on both edges, who are consistently 2 of the top 10 tackles in the NFL (Eagles have been blessed with 2 as well) and Bakhtiari has ranked out #1 on PFF amongst LTs for more than one year.
