Yeah my wife showed me the error in my initial thinking. I still think it gives a lot of fuel to the anti-vaxxers and those fuckers are effective at using anything they are given but as she pointed out it is incorrect to say it's a 1 in 1.2 million risk because it's only happened so far in women under 50. So the risk for that demographic is certainly higher. Pausing and getting more info is the right call.

This isn't and shouldn't be a political or PR move, but strictly a health decision that has the potential to save lives. The ignorant is going to beat that drum no matter what you do, so how they feel can be readily dismissed.

There's nothing wrong with that vaccine or AZ.

Shoot it in the muscle and not the bloodstream.

The benefits indeed outweigh the risks, especially for countries that can't get or properly distribute the mRNA vaccines.

NO.

Wear a mask you stupid asshole.

Masks don't work... I mean that's what the CDC and Dr. Fraudci said initially... Now you have to wear 800 masks at once, social distance 4 football fields apart, and all that with the zombie poison while taking a certificate of death passport selfie. :tu

PF Changs took down the plexiglass dividers yesterday and I noticed the sign on the door now says "masks recommended". Times are changing for the best!

NO Im sorry you are dead wrong.
Masks do work. Because we now know the major source of transmission, larger droplets in the air.
End of story.

Oh PF Changs... well thats says it all... The world has turned!

Has the vaccine worked, if not, explain why cases are dropping dramatically please.

chinese vaccine not working very well in Chile

Chile sees Covid surge despite vaccination success

The number of daily cases reached a new record high on 9 April, going over 9,000 for the first time since the pandemic began and considerably higher than the previous peak of just under 7,000 cases in mid-June.

CoronaVac confusion

There is also confusion about how the vaccine that the vast majority in the country has received works, Prof Bueno adds. More than 93% of the doses administered in Chile so far have been CoronaVac, produced by the Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company Sinovac.

Data on the efficacy of the CoronaVac vaccine is varied. Brazilian trials suggested an efficacy rate of around 50.4% (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-55642648) but results from late-stage trials in Indonesia and Turkey suggested a much higher rate - between 65% and 83%.

It suggested CoronaVac was 56.5% effective in protecting people against infection two weeks after they had received their second dose, but the figure was only 3% in the timespan between the first and second doses.

This may give a key clue as to why cases may still be on the rise

in Chile, where more than 7.4 million people have received the first jab,

but the number of those who have had both the first and second doses is much lower, at 4.3 million.

University of Chile's rector, Ennio Vivaldi, went as far as saying that the

first dose of CoronaVac on its own did not have "any relevant effect".

It will be back just like Astra.

The European Medicines Agency and World Health Organization both continued to recommend its use, and many of those countries resumed vaccinations within a few days following a preliminary EMA investigation that concluded (https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/03/18/978667638/european-medicines-agency-finds-astrazeneca-vaccine-safe-and-effective) its benefits outweighed its risks.
