About to be a total shit show. Know it’s just preseason but kind of feels like this will tell us a lot about how viable this giant starting lineup of ours is…main things I’m interested in seeing are how Sochan and Wemby can manage their matchups as it seems like they’ll have the largest mismatches on both sides of the ball (which will likely be the case in regular season matchups in most lineups as well).

Can Wemby consistently force double teams and make the right play? Can he really stay in front of typical wing types and chase guys around screens? Does Sochan have good enough handles to use his strength/size to overpower smaller guards trying to guard him, or the lateral quickness to stay in front of quicker guards on a consistent basis?

Seems like both teams are on total opposite ends of the spectrum as it relates to lineup strategy. Should be fun to watch.

imo that's a good chunk of the reason the Spurs probably won't push to win as many games as possible this year. Wemby needs to learn what works and what doesn't, and experience is the best teacher. Getting a decently high draft pick to add to the core wouldn't hurt either.

What I hope Wemby takes to heart is that the modern NBA game is all about efficiency. He will shoot a lot of threes because they're fun and being good at them would make him even more unguardable, but until he can consistently get his 3PT% in the mid 30s or so they will generally be bad shots for him.
