View Full Version : Is polling and legacy media essentially dead now?

Polls missed again. Many Republicans/ Trump supporters don't want to talk to anyone about their politics. They don't want their name put on some liberal hitlist.
The holy grail of pollsters actually had Iowa going to Harris :lol And remember the suppression Wisconsin poll that claimed that Biden would take that state by 17 points? They were a A rated pollster, btw :lol I didn't even care about the polls when Biden was still in and they had Trump blowing him out. They have their agenda. They skew them in whatever direction they're told to, imo. Harris was rated the worst VP in the history of the country with an approval rating in high 30's. She's always been super cringe and unlikable. Then suddenly she gets installed as nominee and is up 5 nationally on Trump :rolleyes. Most of us knew that was all smoke and mirror BS and she was never actually up that margin to begin with.
What about old media? They have an approval rating comparable to congress and everyone seems to see through their BS. I'm wondering if MSNBC fires everyone now and shifts right and Fox shifts some to the left. Or maybe they all go under.

Betteridge's rule.
Legacy media can expect to get walloped by Trump, but they'll be fine -- Trump is great for business.

Internal polling told the D's everything they needed to know. That's why 3 consecutive months of assassination attempts were made as they hunted President Trump.
They knew.

The "late surge" by Harris was a last ditch effort to tamp down the vote, but, he'd FINALLY freed his people to vote by mail, by early voting, et al. The votes had already been cast. He finally learned his fuckin' lesson and applied it. They knew what was comin', that's why they tried to blow his head off repeatedly.

I think we will see less of them. They will still be used, but mainly internally.
They missed all over the country, VA, NY, IL, swing states, pretty much everywhere :lol
And BTW, 538 has their head stuck up their rear ends. They booted Rassmussen who was on the money from day 1 of this cycle. That screwed up their aggregate.

Poll are a scam by essence.
They litterally were created for that purpose, if people knew how they're made or didn't forget all the time, they'd never take them into consideration.
FYI every poll companies have a "secret formula" like Coke or Pepsi :lol
The problem is that the ones that are supposed to expose this scam NEED said scam on a daily basis

Poll had utility in the time of land lines when you had easy truly random sampling. Now they are basically impossible to do, you are forced to fudge the numbers to fit the models one way or the other, and as soon you are adjusting results to fit the model as opposed other way around, you failed. So, yes polls are useless now, and have been so for some time now. They do generate click still though, so they are still used for that.

Here it is again "Same thing I said when I was asked before. Why would I post Nate Silver predictions favoring Harris? I'm here to talk shit on Harris supporters. Same reason Dem posters didn't post Nate Silver predictions when they favored Trump."
You trying to make this about when I did or didn't post Nate Silver predictions is a pathetic attempt to deflect from how much I fucking embarrassed you any time you tried to bring up polling.
I honestly don't know why you keep wanting to discuss your complete lack of polling knowledge unless you've got some weird kink of getting publicly humiliated, which wouldn't surprise me as you decided to share with the board that your wife was getting dicked down by another man.

If the polls had Trump beating her by a landslide the entire time no one would had been engaged at all. No one would had been paying attention to all the media’s talking heads because it wouldn’t really had been a point to if the polls showed her losing . Then you have talking heads like Van Jones saying nonsense like he’s getting the same feel like Obama 08 further giving people false hope . It’s all smoke and mirrors, but in 2028 it will be the same thing all over again

Trump has ~49.9% of the popular vote so far with a 1.6% gap on Harris. This is not a particularly large popular margin for a US president, roughly top of the bottom quartile, historically.
List of United States presidential elections by popular vote margin - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_elections_by_po pular_vote_margin)
This is recalled by heart, but I think I heard the swing state gap was 100,000 votes this year, about 2%.
Trump's electoral margin was 44th largest out of 60 presidential elections.

What I found to be remarkable is the overall Trump shift to the right, though.
NJ/VA look as though they could be swing states soon thanks to Trump.
TX went Trump +6 in 2020. It is now Trump +14. And that is with an abortion ban
Florida was a semi swing state. Now it is Trump +13
The GOP can only hope the Democrats roll out another flip-flopping, boring, low IQ, DEI candidate next time around. But sadly I think the left has learned their lesson. :lol

The left got all giddy over that stupid azz poll :lol
All they had to do was click on it and read it and you could clearly see they found a bunch of libs and never Trump people to talk to.
Meanwhile, Atlas and Trafalgar nailed it AGAIN. I'm sure 538 will ax them calling them unreliable right wing polls :lol Their aggregate is already flawed garbage since they axed very accurate Rasmussen (had Trump up a point nationally and in all swing states the entire time). The left loves to sit in their echo chamber and let Michael Moore and Lichtman tickle their itching ears.

Not this time. The votes had already been mailed. The kicker, the livin' end? Had he allowed us, encouraged us to vote by mail in '20 he'd already be done now. tee, hee.
