On the portal, so far I have to say that I've seen no surprises so far. Maybe Baxter a little, but it was clear Texas was not liking what they were seeing. Great young man, but the production wasn't there.

I would suspect we might see Derrick Williams (same boat as Baxter) and Wardell Mack enter the portal. Phillips and Littleton blew by Mack and Wilson at CB.

Also on the bubble, imo, are TEs Shannon, Randle, and DB Roberson,

I liked Lefau as well and he looked like he was on the field a lot. If someone (e.g. Smith) is rising and competing for snaps, treat it as an opportunity to get better and win back playing time. But for now, we're just speculating as to why he's portalling. Hate to see him go, but I wish him well.

As a side comment, I really enjoyed watching the Army/Navy game this weekend. It felt like what college football used to be 15-20 years ago. True school pride coupled with love for America. I doubt those players have NIL access or the ability to portal out. They play for the love of the game and the love of the school. The coach / player dynamic at the military schools has to be very different than the rest of college football. A Marine friend of mine commented that the players in the trenches are typically smaller than those in the regular colleges because all of the players have to meet military fitness standards.

The issue I see is that they just don't belong. They don't get the recruiting that the P4 schools get and will get crushed in the playoffs 99 times of 100. The chance of any of them winning the title is ridiculously low. Let them play in a different division.

Moore only had 4 TDs this season and 500 yards. I'm ok with him leaving. He was a good blocker though, so that will be one area he will be missed. Mosely pretty much took away from him once he got healthy. If Texas can get a bonafide #1 WR in the portal then I'm all for it. With that said, I like the trio of Livingstone, Mosely and Wingo. I also expect Locket to be a major contributors next year and I really do think Bishop will hard to keep off the field next year.
