What are some of the best things that happened to you or that you experienced this past year? Was it meeting someone special, experiencing something that enriched your life, reaching a milestone?

For me:
• Making the decision to embrace being single, including purchasing Spurs tickets and attending the games solo
• Joining the Spurstalk forum and meeting some great people
• Being at the NBA Finals, experiencing a Game 7 and watching the Spurs win the championship
• Donating what money and food I could to victims of disasters all over the world
• Getting a great job and achieving some monumental career goals, and now setting new ones
• Wearing both the 2003 and 2005 championship rings, if only for a few minutes
• Coming to terms with my dad's illness and aging and realizing that it's a marathon and not a sprint
• Conquering my own health setbacks without prescription drugs

1. My daughter's first School day.
2. Visiting SA for the first time and meeting a lot of very nice (and some crazy - but in a good way) people.
3. Visiting SA for a second time and seeing my first playoff games live and in person.
4. Built a garden shed from scratch (didn't have time for a holiday so that was it :)).

1. Moved to San Antonio from Corpus
2. Saw my girlfriend graduate from college and get her first teaching gig

That's about it. This year was pretty uneventful.

1.My company have the biggest year, financially, profits wise, in its history, and lots of friends and family crediting me with it. (I didnt think so, but it was awesome to hear it)

Thats about it.

Me and the Fiance broke up, then got back together, then broke up again.

So, i guess its been a mediocre year.

Spurs won again, so that made it fantastic.

Still alive, wich means thats great too! :)

2005 was a bad year for me... Ok now ALL bad but my grandfather died this year and it's still hard to believe. I guess some of the good things are:

Getting to spend the entire month of June with my grandfather while he was in the hospital. I was there every day and held his hand every day. He did live long enough to watch the Spurs win the championship. :) That made him happy.

Getting to spend time with my cousin Valerie while she was here in June. She lives in California so we don't get to see her too often. The week she was here was the best (although it was mostly spent in the hospital). Then she bought me a lovely Coach purse! Aww! lol

The entire Spurs season of 2005. I am happy that we had Season tickets for the '04 and '05 seasons. Then being at game 7 was amazing! Couldn't ask for anything more.

Seeing my cousin Krista off to College. She is now attending the Texas Culinary Academy and I am very proud of her. She's going to be an awesome Chef!

That was about it...2005 pretty much sucked (I told you). Hopefully '06 will get a little better.

Such a good thing to take stock every once in a while -- keeps things in the right perspective. For me, in something resembling chronological order, a few:

1. Passed the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Exam (pass rate for my exam was less than 25%)

2. Saw my first argument in the U.S. Supreme Court

3. Got to see a game at Assembly Hall in Indiana with my best friend

4. Best friend got married

5. Sweet trip to Seattle to see the Spurs in the playoffs (even though the Spurs lost) and got to go to Safeco Field for the first time

6. Living to see the conclusion of the Star Wars saga

7. Being in the building for Game 7

8. Standing on a river bank about 2 feet from every Spur and having Pop respond to my "Thank you, Pop" shout

9. My dear cousin got married and asked me to be a part of her big day

10. Got my new pup, Barkley, who is a bright light in my life

11. Seeing the genuine care of so many people in the face of horrendous tragedies

12. Seeing a great friend succeed in her effort to graduate from college

13. Having the blessings of wonderful family and good friends -- even friends of the anonymous sort

Being in a very bad fight with some of my closest friends, some roomate tensions

1) Met my wonderful boyfriend, who's changed my outlook on so many things in such a short amount of time
2) Spurs Championship
3) Partying like there's no tommorow in the month of November
4) Going down to Atlantic City with my friends and winning $100 on those 5 cent slot machines! :elephant
5) My cousin getting married--and her Bridal Shower was a party to remember
6) Making it through half my Junior and Senior year in college!
7) Marking my second year at my current job/internship at GSK
8) Getting one year older--I don't know why everyone says they wish they were younger...getting older and wiser is the way to go :tu
9) Getting to know everyone here at Spurstalk so much better: Angel_Luv, ObiwanGinobili, Jimc50, Shoogarbear, Batman, Shelly, SW, Kori, and everyone else. Plus all those times I opened crazy ass threads that made me laugh out loud: "Oh Shit!", "Quatro," "Real Women," "Trade Parker," and many more
10) Meeting the guy of my dreams--that should count twice! :spin

Blessings From 2005:

1. Another great year with LJ. I am blessed with a great husband. I don't care if you guys are sick of hearing it or think it's disgusting or sappy, but I feel like I have the best husband of all time. We never argue. We laugh a lot. And we sincerely enjoy each other's company very much. Thank God.

2. Getting my health (almost) back in order. I have been sick for almost a year and a half (some people here know that, some don't). But over the last six months, they finally figured out what was wrong with me and I'm starting to get healthy. Hopefully I will be better within the next 2 months so that LJ and I can try to have a baby. Because my poor health has put that on hold for a long time.

3. Spurs Championship experience. In 2003, I experienced the Spurs Championship as a fan and it was tremendous. In 2005, I experienced it as a reporter and it was an experience I'll never forget.

Hopes For 2006:

1. Having A Baby - I really want to have a baby (or two). So in 2006, I hope to get pregnant. And if that's not God's will, then I hope we can start the adoption process.

2. Friends Getting Married - I really want Chris and Christy (User and Spurswoman), as well as Manny and Jess to get married this year. It's not my business, or my place to say but oh well, I just said it. :lol

3. The Troops To Come Home - Enough Said.

I like this thread.

In order of occurence (somewhat):

01. Finding a job in my field (even though it's at a standstill at this moment, it was still very exciting)
02. Dancing, drinking, and hanging out with 2 of the best girlfriends ever for practically every weekend for 4 months straight (until 1 of said girlfriends was sent off to bootcamp-- sad, sad day)
03. Falling in love with my boyfriend (which happens moreso every day)
04. Saying hello to a beautiful niece (that makes me an Aunt now!)
05. Austin City Limits Festival (has been a highlight of my year for the last 3 years now)
06. Visiting boyfriend in Michigan (it was gorgeous, memorable, and longing to be visited again)
07. Meeting new people, new friends (specifically from this wonderful forum)

Since my mom died in February/March, this was by far the hardest year I've ever had to endure...and these holidays are unimaginably tortuous and the only bright spot is that there is only 2 more weeks of it....well that, and that I get to watch User blow shit up and set stuff on fire 12/31 to end it. :wow

Being there for game 7 was awesome, and probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but if it weren't for the absolute love of my life (User) and landing an awesome job...and my kids of course, I could very well have lived my entire life without having to include 2005.

Good thread, things that I'm thankful for and/or the best of 2005 for me in no particular order:

1. Watching my twins and my 12yr. old continue to grow and develop, it's damn hard work and I'm so tired some days that I don't know if I can make it much longer, but then I get home and see those kids..........enough said.

2. Getting involved in this forum, I've never really posted on any forum before and I have really enjoyed reading the comments/opinions of posters here. I just wish I could make it to one of those GTG's, they sound like a great time!

3. Continuing to progress and refine my skills as a counselor/therapist, trying to better help the clients I work with on a daily basis.

4. Realizing every day how lucky I got in marrying my wife, I don't know what the hell she was thinking at the time, but thank God she didn't stop to consider things for too long!

5. Watching the success of the Spurs, seeing them win their third championship as I was moping the kitchen floor because I was too nervous to stand in living room.

:hat :hat :hat
