Logan returns. Nice curveball.

Two things piss me off about tonight...

The kid sticks around even after he hears gramps say he'll kill him. Um, either 1) get the hell out or 2) find something and fuck the old man up.

The MILF gets her son back and then bolts. She could have climbed the stairs, snuck in, and capped gramps.

Last night's episode was pretty good, and they keep setting you up for the next one to come.

When Philip Bauer first told Jack and his sister-in-law to look out the window, I thought Josh was gonna be dead, dangling from a rope tied around his neck. :lol

Then, when Jack was in his dad's control in the other building, I thought Phil was going to kill himself for some reason after he listened to Jack's little speech. Then, when Jack realized he escaped, I thought that the big silver phone was his gun and that he committed suicide by jumping off the building.

How did that old piece of snake shit run away?

And fuck that Lennox guy, he deserved to get pistol whipped, I hated him from the start.

He was an alcoholic, but had been sober for 3 years. As you can tell, he is suffering from a severe bout of depression from giving the terrorist an arming device for the nukes. He calls himself a coward and such. I don't know what he was doing, but whatever it was, he couldn't go through with it.

I've got just one major gripe so far with this season. Why the hell does everyone have to talk so quietly? I'm constantly turning up the volume to hear what the hell they're saying and it's beginning to piss me off! Especially the new president, does every conversation he has need to be whispered for some reason?

Only a minor gripe, but it gets to me over time. Of course, I could just be losing my hearing as I get older.

Tonight was slow as fuck for most of the show. It started getting interesting when the VP told Lennox he was going to nuke Assad's country. Then it slowed down for all the reunion bullshit between the prez and his wife.

Then all of a sudden you get Logan stabbed, Russian embassy stormed, Ricky Schroeder bringing the wood on the Russkies, and the prez. threatening war if another nuke goes off.

Next week looks like it should be action packed.

What a stupid, stupid episode.

Ricky Schroeder? RICKY FUCKING SCHROEDER???? He's about as intimidating as a declawed kitten in a bed of flowers.

Next we'll have Doogie Howser as the next head terrorist. Better yet, how about Gary Coleman?

And I'm sick of the arbitrary cameos from characters of previous seasons. I don't give a fuck about Charles Logan or his crazy wife. And the big cliffhanger is that Logan might die? I'm supposed to care WHY??

Oh and I love how 2 minutes after Mommie Dearest stabs Logan they're asking her if she can handle a phone call. And of course she does... and of course, it takes literally ten seconds (a) to explain the situation to the Russian Pres' wife, (b) for the wife to relay to her husband, and (c) for him to contact the ambassador.

And finally, this Vice President is cartoonishly evil. It's laughable. I must say, I liked him a lot better on The Simpsons.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4153/leopoldzk4.jpg

This show is in a tailspin. Episodes like this are a testament to how much Kiefer Sutherland carries the show. He only got about 10 minutes of screen time and you could tell, because the rest of the show was an abortion.

I thought the episode was slow as hell too, I hated the middle all about Logan and that bitch ass Martha. No one gives a shit about her, and it seems like every single woman in 24 is retarded and pisses me off.

Martha was a complete retarded, slow fuck.
Jack Bauer's sister-in-law, his brother's wife, was a complete douche too.

It's really not worth watching.

The only action was when a CTU force came into the embassy and capped all the Russians, and it was a brief scene. Markov shot once at the CTU squad and got sprayed by bullets as a result, but this was brief as well, lasting 3 seconds, if that.

Then, since Martha thought Logan was trying to piss her off, when he clearly was not, the crazy stupid bitch stabbed him in the shoulder, and BTW, I don't think someone would die from being stabbed by a small knife where he was. Considering an ambulance came quickly, and there are no major organs in the shoulder, highly unlikely to die from that, but that's just my opinion.
Of course, Logan's last words were "...Martha...." then the pussy died.

I hope next week is better.

Melmart1

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but still, the ambulance got there right away...I don't know, I just think that last night's episode was highly unrealistic in many ways.

For some reason or another it just felt like I wasn't watching 24. And there have been worse 24 episodes this season, but this one in particular stands out to me.

I think he's dead because in the ambulance his heart stopped beating and the way they made him very slowly say Martha's name all dramatically, when clearly he still had a thing for her and loved her. I'm pretty sure Logan is dead.

Aggie Hoopsfan
03-13-2007, 07:19 PM
The only thing that makes me think he's not is that if you go read the 24 episode guide, it says his heart was failing, not that he was dead.

When Curtis got capped earlier this year, it was kind of ambiguous if he was dead or not but they flat out said it in the episode guide.

I just hated all the slow shit in the middle last night with Martha and Charles. Gimme more embassy shootout, etc.

There is something very unsettling about Silver Spoons. I think he might be a spy. I am not sold on Nadia, although it would be quite brilliant if they staged the whole interrogation so that everyone thought they were against each other when in reality they were working together.

Honestly the biggest flaw of this season so far was failing to make the most out of Jack's brother as a bad guy. Fucker had one of the worst deaths on the show so far, same with Logan. That is, if Logan is really dead. Seriously, how can you expect a crazy woman to know just the right spot to stab. I swear if a season of this show doesn't go by where in one episode some crazy bitch doesn't kill somebody important. In complete honesty I'd rather they brought back Kim and had her dumb ass find yet another way to get kidnapped than half of the stupid crap that's gone on in this season.

But seriously, Jack's bro helped mastermind everything that went on in last season and he bites it in the most pathetic way. I'm really interested in how they'll play out the rest of the season. I know Daniels is more than just a powerhungry warmonger, there is more going on inside CTU than we know, fuck Ricky Shroeder, Audrey isn't dead, and Josh Bauer is probably Jack's son.

I'm with J.T. on Audrey not being dead. It will turn out that the only reason the Chinese let Jack walk is because they knew they had the leverage to get him back later, namely Audrey. Or some other stupid reason. This show is trying my patience this year.

On the plus side with the threat of the nuclear launch stopped for now they can stop having to use the term "Assad's country" over and over. I wish they'd just pick a country, issue a press release saying, "Even though we portray Syria as a terrorist supporting state this season it doesn't really mean anything because we're a freaking television show," and go about their business. And I'm kind of disapointed Nadia wasn't a spy. When that plot line started did anyone honestly think she wouldn't get cleared somehow? It wouldn't be very PC but it would have been a good twist.

Personally I want to see the AG stop Daniels only to have it turn out that Wayne really does have brain damage and isn't fit to be running the country. Then spend the rest of the season watching him act all crazy, possibly making the Joint Chiefs dress up in clown costumes and making Tom Lennox dance the Macarena for six hours straight. The show could use a little levity.

I watched the Sprint-exclusive preview for next week and Silver Spoons trys to tell Nadia that Milo is the mole in CTU. Which is probably a lie, so someone in CTU is dirty and it's probably Silver Spoons or the guy that gave him the chip, like AHF said. I have a feeling that this season is all going to end up having to do with China again. The presidency is a joke on this show, so Daniels will probably get Wayne removed, fire a nuke on a country allied with China, giving Jack pretense for revenge.

I know Audrey isn't dead, and if everything I just predicted happens, they'll probably use her as a bargaining chip to get Jack back. The whole giving Jack back to the US ordeal was just a ruse to begin with.

Big mistake on your part, IMO. I consider Day 5 to be the best this show has had to offer, present season included. Hell, it's probably some of the best drama I've seen in my entire life. Day 2 and Day 3 are interesting enough (Day 3 is pretty cool, actually). But Day 4 put me to sleep a few times. Who knows, you may like it though. Both thoughts had crossed my mind briefly at times and after reading them I have some theories. From the previously mentioned preview we know Silver Spoons throws accusations at Milo next. I would not be surprised if they somehow recruit Rain Man for a couple of hours while they hook jumper cables up to Milo's nuts.

You're probably right about Jack. As my wife pointed out to me when I told her my theory about the Chinese getting Jack back through Audrey, if they couldn't crack him in two years time they probably don't want him back. For some reason my poorly rested brain came up with this: the Chinese will use Audrey as leverage to get Jack to kill the VP. Daniels will spend the next few hours doing his thing with the attorney general. Either by legal means or Wayne taking a turn for the worse, he'll be back in power around the time that Jack and CTU are finishing off Fayed and restart his nuclear strike plan. The Chinese get wind of this and, realizing the dangers of widespread strife in the middle east and the potential of WW3 and more nukes, try to stop it. When diplomacy and the threat of war fails to stop Daniels they'll go to Bauer, threatening to kill Audrey if he doesn't play ball. Clearly I don't have enough to do at work today.

Decent theory, but it completely rules out Pops Bauer. More and more I am starting to think Pops (and his group) had everything to do with setting up Jack at the end of last season. After all, the only lead the Chinese had was Jack, so they wouldn't have been keeping tabs on the four that knew he was still alive. I came to that conclusion because of this. Logan's nature was very weak, and he showed it multiple times. Once he was in custody, Jack would've probably interrogated him and got him to confess the names of the group that helped set everything up. Pops Bauer knows his son too well, so he set up his own son to save face. Probably because he knew whenever Jack got out of China, the case would be closed anyway.

Stop for a moment to think what the main objective of Pops and Graem's group was last season. They wanted control over the middle eastern oil flow. They failed because CTU found out about Logan's involvement, and without Logan they had no puppet to control anymore. Since that plan failed, they're trying to get control of that oil a different way. I suspect that Pops Bauer's group is behind everything, once again. Except maybe Fayed's attacks. The attacks have been going on for 11 weeks, right? Pops' and his pals have been using that 11 weeks to come up with a plan to use the Fayed attacks as a cover for what they're really doing. Remember Tom Lennox's aide tried to kill Wayne Palmer. They didn't plan for him to be in a coma, they wanted him dead? Why? Because Daniels is probably working for Pops Bauer. Pops knows Palmer wouldn't retaliate with nukes, so he ochestrated a plan to get someone who would into the hot seat.

Ever wonder why Daniels wants to strike an area with low population density? If he hits a major area, it would complicate their plans of taking over the oil supply if they turn the oil radioactive. It's just a diversion for the US to take over the oil supply. But the way Daniels speaks about retaliating, you'd think he'd want to hit Assad's country where it counts, not fire a warning shot at some extremely sparse-populated area. It doesn't make sense from his point of view about retaliating. We also know that Fayyed got the suitcase nukes from Gredenko, and that the guy at the Russian consolate knew about it, and also that Logan was invovled with this man during last season's events. Is it a coincidence that these guys are all connected? Yeah, because they're all taking orders from Pops Bauer. All along, the plan was to use the terrorist attacks as a reason to provoke the middle east so that the US can get the oil supply. Pops knows that if a small country is faced with going to war with the US, especially on a nuclear scale, they will probably lose, so he's trying to get control of the oil without a war. He gave the suitcase nukes to Fayyed thru his associates to give the US a reason to declare war if they have to, or retaliate with nuclear weapons if/when Fayyed used the nukes on US.

Obviously, they weren't counting on Palmer getting Jack back, or Jack escaping from Fayyed. As for how the Chinese play into all of this, I'll need some more time to think about that. But I'll need to see a few more episodes because it's all very unclear at the moment.

Here, I found this for you:

"What is the appeal of "24"?

It is the fastest-paced, most exciting telvision out there. But at bottom, the appeal is that, as in the westerns of old and "Dirty Harry" movies of the 1970s, Jack Bauer is a flawed but good man in a struggle against evil, who is there to see that his loved ones are secure and justice is done. To Jack Bauer, as to Clint Eastwood's Detective "Dirty Harry" Callahan, vigilante justice is not only preferable to no justice at all, it is the best kind. Evil men should get what they deserve, without legal complications.

"24" satisfies the innate demand in all of us that, the law aside, evil should be punished and justice done.

That the audience for "24" is so loyal and large should tell us something about America and our divisions over the war we are in. "

Is that alright? I'm just trying to send you on your way satisfied so we can get back to talking about the show.

Best moment of the season by far came this episode. Fayed's getting the crap kicked out of him in the bar, Jack saves the day, and what's the first order of business after stopping the people from kicking his head in? He boots Fayed in the face like a FIFA champ.

"I hope your friend dies."

"Shut up!"

From TVSquad:

"Although I must say, about halfway through this episode, I was complaining bitterly that Jack Bauer seemed like, as some critics have complained, a guest star on his own show."

I agree with this. This episode overall was much better than the past few though, so I hope it's a sign that this season's finally picking up. And missing the part where Jack actually catches Fayed? Weak!

I'm guessing he does. I also see that being the very end of next week's show so we're left with the 'cliffhanger' :lol

As soon as Palmer asked about Jack getting Fayed to talk and hearing there were no assurances, you could tell he was going to launch the nuke. I saw that one coming.

I still think Nadia is a spy and that guy Johnson from last week that found the chip was an accomplice that covered for her.

Well the important part about this episode was the whole thing with trying to get Palmer out of office, and it's not like there isn't enough Jack to go around for the 8 episodes left in this season. I didn't catch the sneak preview but if Fayed doesn't get away, I very much look forward to Jack paying him back for the torture he layed down at the beginning of the season.

Ever since they busted Fayed things have come to a screeching halt. And now the previews make it look like Audrey's got the same problem that Mr. Burns did when he came out of his coma and could only say, "Homer Simpson."

Of course, that's still a far cry from Jack's wife suddenly getting amnesia in the middle of the first season.

I didn't think about that, concerning the blonde could be a spy. That would be a much needed punch in a blah blah storyline. Unless they(producers) have something instore for us concerning the Chinese, that SL has been a disappointment! I think the possibility that 24 has run it's course has to be considered. What other SL's are out there? Some SL's that might work:

1. The President of the USA is kidnapped and taken to a "unnamed" country.

2. Another "911" storyline.

Like I said 24 reached its peak long time ago and unfortunately is on its way down. :(

Every time I find myself bemoaning the show, I have to remind myself that the first season had an amnesia out and Dennis Hopper with the worst accent in television history.

Still, what a mess this season has been. It's as though they built the plot outline on which guest appearances they could secure and wrote the actual story at the last minute.

And the whole Audrey thing is ridiculous. In season 2 or 3 I'd have believed he'd put a bullet in his own daughter's head to save the country. Now he's putting the nation at risk for a former girlfriend?

This season's only highlights are going to end up being the premiere, when Jack booted Fayed in the face and hung his ass out to dry a few episodes after that, and potentially when Jack offs Chang (I hope).

Other than that it's been total bullshit, especially the 6 weeks they wasted building up a plotline around Jack's dad and brother only to throw it away and never come back to it. But there's three episodes left and I'm sure they'll find some way to tie all the loose ends together at the last minute, or leave us hanging on some bullshit ass story line until next season.

BTW I still say Josh Bauer is Jack's son. Otherwise he'd look more like his pussyface father. And if Jack respects Heller's demand for him to stay away from Audrey, that would at least give Jack another option.

2. Papa Bauer's back in the mix. Back in a circuitous, contrived way but it's good to have him back.

Well, this season will probably go down as having a great premiere, a great finale (I hope, its certainly shaping up to be good), and about 14 episodes that were filled with useless White House scandal scenes and stupid plotlines that slowed down the pace of the show. This season feels like it has taken 20 days to play out, not one.

Overall I'm disappointed that the 24 writers dropped off so much after last season. This week's episode was the first episode in a while where it felt like watching 24 again...but I'm heistant to say that because it did include a lot of the "White House spy" plotline in the first half. I hope that gets wrapped up in the next episode and the last two and a half episodes will be all about Jack going apeshit on China and his dad.

I thought Jack was gonna commit suicide at the end...walknig towards that cliff with the gun in his hands. I mean, I didn't really think he would knowing how things typically end w/ such admirable characters...FOX would never end a series like that, but it would have made sense if he shot himself. His life is stressful as fuck, he can't spend the anymore time with Audrey for the reasons why her father and Jack worded out to Audrey just prior to this, he can't stop doing what he does, CTU will always call him back for shit, and he's in a never-ending sequence where the only way out is dead. On top of it, he spent at least 24 consecutive hours awake and exerting so much energy throughout this season without eating a single bite of anything. :lol

Seriously though, he should have shot himself.

FOX already has 24 under contract for 2008 and 2009, plus a movie to come out in the summer between those two seasons. I knew Jack wasn't going to jump, but that's what I was thinking too at first. In the end, that was probably one of the weakest seasons of 24. The last half of the finale was pretty worthless IMO, but at least we aren't left with a 9 month cliffhanger like last year.

I am most disappointed in the fact that Chang didn't die, cuz he'll probably be back to spread more of his faggotry next year. Also, we didn't see Philip Bauer actually die, so I'm sure he will be back next year or later eventually. This season just has to be called disappointing. The premiere was badass and that was about it. Horrible way to follow up last year.

Yeah it was a weak finale! I have a few questions comments from last nights show:

The first thing that bothered me was why Jack didn't get the chip from his dad? He had the chance now we're left wondering if he survived. Why didn't Chang die? Will he be in next years season? Why bring Chloe's pregnancy to the show? Is the show getting softer around the edges? I know 24 was considered one of the most violent shows on tv so could this be the end of Jack kicking some serious terrorists ass? One thing that I didn't see necessary was Jack going to Sen. Hellers(sp?) home and threatening him with a gun. I know he wanted to see Audrey but what was Jack going to do ..kill him?? Very unrealistic!! Overall it was the weakest season and for next year what are they going to give us? We've seen the H-bombs, moles, middle eastern terrorists, Russian spies, bad Presidents, dead Presidents, so what now? Hopefully it'll be some fresh material!

I think the Chang angle will come back next year because you'll have the Chinese trying to get him back, like he hit on when walked into CTU.

I could also see the Chinese kidnap someone important to try and work out a trade, and then Jack is tasked with getting them back.
