His announcing is getting unbearable. He has the most annoying voice on earth and says the dumbest things. Thank God he isn't commentating the Pistons game today....

Snapper Jones makes Bill Walton sound like Al Michaels.

I have officially muted the television. The coup de grace was Jim Gray ....

Good lord, Walton is there for comedic effect. You take anything he has to say seriously?
He's the king of hyperbole.

It depends how much weed is in his system for waltons performances.

I usually don't mind Walton and I recognize hyperbole is part of his charm, modus operandi. That said, today he seems to be more verbose than ever.

Walton has turned into a caricature of himself. It's sad because he's extremely smart and extremely knowledgable about the game. He just insists on saying stupid shit to get attention.

Today he's referred to Jeff Foster as both "Greg Foster" and "Scott Foster."
Walton has taken the schtick a bit too far, but he is what he is.

Walton can be annoying, but he's pretty funny sometimes and he's the color guy... so he's supposed to have an even balance of annoying and enlightening

Walton was the Spurs fan today, and Snapper the hater.
THe next Spurs game, they will switch roles.

I muted the TV too today--I don't mind Walton but Jim Gray is like nails on the blackboard. The real problem is that they get off on other topics and stop paying attention to the game, which annoys me.
That said, I'd say that listening to this team of losers is not much below listening to Dick Stockton and Terry Porter calling a game. Oy--I know Stockton used to be the Shit but now he's just this side of senile.

God Foodie, I think Id rather listen to Durham and Frick and Frack do the game than those two.
Porter and Stockton are atrocious.

Walton?....today?.... I had this chip installed last week that inhibits my brain from hearing and seeing that guy, so I wouldn't of even know he was there.

I just get a little annoyed at the Walton/Snapper back and forth jibs at each other. Stay with the game.

I still remember last year in the playoffs when Ginobili went off on Detroit in either game or game 2 (He went off in every win, but I was at one of them). I ran out of the arena trying to beat traffic (I live an hour away) and Bill Walton passed by me and I stuck up my hand and went, "Manu Ginobili BABY!" and he slapped my hand and started laughing.

And listen to Jack Ramsey on the ESPN Radio broadcast?
You want to hear bad, those broadcasts sound like a 3-hour stroke.

Bill said something about Freeman Coliseum being the place where they "store the hay" Friday night during the Nets game and then today he said something about Texas State too. I about punched the TV. Blah Blah Blah. Mute the TV. I'm too lazy. And I'm a girl I can complaine if I want to. I have more to bitch about if y'all want to hear it.

snapper was a dick today.
"this is why the spurs are beatable"
65.6 win pace which if they finished with that would be better than any team since the 72 win bulls right?
"beatable"

Why would mentioning Texas State (which, forgoing my obvious bias, is the university of Jeff Foster) be a bad thing?
I mean, the only thing wrong with the statement was he first said he went to college in San Antonio (graduated from Madison High), but then he mentioned next sentence that he played at Texas State and was one of the school's best players.

All the commentators say 99% shit. I don't blame them after all its a fucking game on tv. We can see what's going on so instead of them saying it they need to say other "interesting" facts.

It wasn't bad. It seemed to me that he didn't agree with the statement.

I think we are just spoiled from listening to the god of color commentary, Sean Elliott, every game. I mean, seriously, I could listen to Sean announce a Dog Show or a Quilting Bee or something and he'd still find smart ass things to say while dropping some catchy SportsCenter-esque quips, all while being just absolutely entertaining. Fuck Bill Walton, ABC needs to put Sean on the payroll just to call Spurs games.

Walton just basically makes up stuff on the fly that is just bodacious and out of left field....example, "the most dominating performance in the history of the Atlantic Division." :lol
Steve Jones seldom misses an opportunity to verbally downplay what the Spurs do in basically every game he's ever called.

I usually hate to listen to Bill Walton, but I thought he was pretty funny yesterday....
"Welcome to the age of leagality, you join Steve, when I turn 21 I want you both to take me out"
Snapper Jones is maybe the worst anaylst/colour guy out there by himself, but joined with Walton they make a funny and somewhat informative pair (Walton with the info).
I just turned the volume waaay down during the game...which is what I'm forced to do when Terry Porter is announcing. I'm sure he's a great guy and thank for your tour as a Spur, Terry... but he is just really, really awful to listen to. I'm going to start counting off how many times he says, "he did a great job," just to amuse myself. And I tried listening to the games on the radio while watching them on TV, but because of the delay it's far too annoying. I think the best idea might be just to turn the stereo up for background music and mute the TV.

he may be the nicest guy in the world, but i can't stand his commentary in any sport.
I turned off the sound then I turned off the closed captioning. I was getting pissed off just reading what he was saying.

I really don't mind listening to Walton. He says things that are pretty funny. Actual, by us discussing him, I guess we're giving him props!! :lol I think every anouncer tries to have their own personality, just like Don Meredith. I thought he needed Howard Cosell and vice verse. Meredith would say things that were off the wall, and then would start singing " Turn out the lights". Sometimes I don't even listen to the anouncers b/c I'm to busy watching the game, and getting into the game that I really don't need the anouncers to tell me what is going on............I could see for myself. :rolleyes
