Sorry if this article has already been posted, but i thought it was pretty impressive for Bryant to single him out.

Could Wade guard him? Kobe: "Please. No way. The best defender I've ever played is Bruce Bowen. It's not even close. What San Antonio does on defense against teams is amazing."

Kobe's got love for all the Spurs.

well it was probably a response of pure shock

why would any broadcaster or reporter be so stupid to ask him if Dwade could guard him?

They might as well ask him a question about his shoe, the Kobe 2.

Between this and him sucking up to Tony all weekend, I can't help but think that Captain Colorado fancies himself lining up in the silver and black at the SF spot at some point.

It's funny you should say that, cause I thought Kobe and Duncan were the only ones on the west who looked like they knew what they were doing when they ran the pick and roll. That being said, there's still no way he's coming to the Spurs...

How was he sucking up to Tony? I hadn't heard about that...

I smell a Rasho/Barry/Beno for Kobe Bryant trade in the works.

Someone had to post it :lol

Thanks for stating the obvious, Kobe. :lol

There's no way Kobe ends up in SA unless we would be willing to part with both Parker and Ginobili plus salary match fodder.... not happening...

Man, Kobe + Duncan + Manu + Parker, with Bowen off the bench would be a dominating team. :lol

Wasn't Bowen a dirty player?

The real concern is whether he is trying to woo Parker to LA.

Ya know... the better Parker.

Well Tony won't be a free agent until 2011, at which time Kobe will be 33. I'd think it'd be more likely, unless Kobe's found a big man, that he would come to SA to try and win another ring.

Didn't Kobe just re-sign himself???

Kobe just re-signed also. At any rate, it's a long time before either of them will be free to look for a new home.

Manu and Tony for Kobe ...

I would figure most Spurs fans wouldn't do it, but you have to admit it is a little tempting. Maybe the Lakers throw in a draft pick or Andrew Bynum (for the future) to sweeten the deal? Spurs fans would have to sit and think about that one.

And, Kobe does love him some Robert Horry too.

Tony Parker is the future of the Spurs, Manu and Tim are the present. I wouldn't trade either.

Yeah Kobe was getting pretty cozy with Tony. Hugs all the time! What was that?

The Spurs represent Kobe's glory days.

(the following analogy is tough to make, but I'll give it a shot...)

Ever run into the high-school quarterback who now sells life insurance who threw to a receiver who is now in the NFL? He lives vicariously through his old partner.

Kobe is attempting to relive the dynasty by associating himself with the current team he most closely associates that dynasty with.

I don't know why people are shocked about Kobe's praise of Bowen. Despite their rivalry from back in the day, I don't think I've ever heard Kobe talk smack about the Spurs. He's said in the past that his fav player to watch is Ginobili, that Pop is a great coach, and I remember when asked about Bowen's playing "dirty" before, he had defended Bruce and said that he's just a great defender and that it's always a challenge for him when he knows he plays the SPurs to go against Bruce.

VC, Ray Allen, etc should take note. :smokin

You took the words right from my mouth! Kobe has had nothing but love for the Spurs in the past, I don't see why it would change now.

Manu and Tony for Kobe would be a steal for the Spurs.
TD
bag of donuts
Finley/Barry
Kobe
Nick/Beno

The League would fold....

1Parker1

Not that this is ever going to happen, but trading away TWO all-stars for ONE all-star is not really a big "Steal" as you call it.

Medvedenko

2 All-stars vs 1 transcendent player...but yeah, I see your point, as I prefer a team over what the current Laker roster represents.

Yeah I'm sure he WOULDN'T sign off on a Rasho/Beno for Kobe trade. Hell, I'm sure he'd even throw in Barry for packing material. :lol
