Out of 18, with about 70 percent wins, we go 13-5, 14-4 if about 80 percent wins.
I think we win 63, considering we are going to lose at least half of the back to backs, with 4 left. I think it comes down to how we play Dallas in the final meeting with them. If we win, I think its a lock we get hca until the finals. I don't think we will have home court against Detroit unless they self destruct and go 11-7, which seems very unlikely. We can't tie them, I believe, because they won the head-to-head, so we have to be a game ahead.

Maybe it's just an easy schedule.
I'm sure we'll lose some we should've won, maybe someting like 14-4 is more realistic. But game by game, we should finish strong...don't know if it'll be 16-2 strong, but that'd be nice. :D

We'll lose some against the weaker teams, but we usually come to play against the better teams, so it evens out. Even our tough games are not that bad, 'cept for Dallas and Phoenix. We should at least win one of those. If the Spurs can concentrate and come prepared to play, there is not a game in there we should lose. Go ahead, call me a homer.

Homer.
I kid, I'm sure we will lose a few. But we shouldn't lose more than one. That one being either Dallas or Phoenix. I would think Dallas, assuming Phoenix still doesn't have Amare back.

IMO, an incredibly successfull season.
But compared to Detroit's 67-15 year
and Dallas's 65-17 year.
Its lost in the media shuffle.

15 and 3, I predict they lose the Denver and Sacramento games (Back to Backs), and one other game.
THat would give us a 65-17 record, which I predict will be a notch above Dallas.

Actually I think ESPN or one of those places look at them better than that. I believe the prediction was one loss in their last 22 or 23 games and that was the one we won in Phoenix. Of course we lost to the Clips and they had us winning that one.

mmm, it will be hard for Spurs to get HCA. But Spurs have a chance, I think they have the easiest rest of schedule out of the 3.

I doubt the Spurs will lose at Houston even with B2B. I feel any one of these teams: Memphis - Dallas - Clippers and Sacramento or Denver will give them fits. The problem is inconsistency. I have been watching the Spurs since I was in middle school when we had season tickets.
I am optimistic that they can win 80% of their remaining games. I hope they can go at least 13 -5.
I think the Mavs will have trouble with: Spurs - Clippers(twice) Detroit - Denver and Sacramento. It appears they have a harder remaining schedule. I see the Mavs going 13 and 5 as well.
The Pistons seem to have a easier schedule:
Dallas and Phoenix maybe Miami being the main threat.
I feel that the Pistons will get HCA all the way through. As much as I hate typing that - the Spurs have their hands full with any body who suits up in the WC.
I will be here screaming at the TV just like all of you.
I will be truly amazed and happy if the Spurs repeat....

At this point our chances of home court in the finals rest on the Heat beating the pistons. =(
spursfaninla
03-15-2006, 06:59 PM
I don't think our chances of getting home court rest on the Heat. There are essentially 2 ways we catch Detroit:
They lose WAY more than they have been, i.e., they go something like 13-7 down the stretch to get 63 wins, and we play about our average and get 64.
or the Spurs almost win out, going something like 16-2 for 66 wins, with Detroit playing about their average and getting 65 wins.
Neither is very likely, but it is possible. If Duncan and Manu get healthier, we could see a record like the latter. The fact that Detroit is SO far ahead of the rest of the east MIGHT make them alittle lazy, but just like the Spurs are watching Detroit, you can be sure they are eyeing our record as well and making sure to keep up the pressure.

65 and 17 - Pistons same record but get tie breaker, Pistons fans will be estatic until the Heat thump them as Flip is outcoached badly and Wade goes crazy. Spurs beat a confident Heat team in a fabulous 7 game series with Manu coming up big and winning the MVP!

With 18 games remaining, the Spurs W %age is: .781.
If they continue on that pace for the final 18: 15 - 3 ( ending 65 - 17 )
If SPAM is to be more than a harmless, homeristic acronym this season, then the Spurs should go at least, 16-2, (ending 66 - 16 ).
