This is an interesting and valid idea. I say we fucking play our 2nd team the rest of the season, literally, tanking it. I mean we're locked to go into the playoffs.
I know Spurs thrive with homecourt, but with Duncan this hurt, homecourt is not a fucking big deal.

no they dont. now the mavs have the second tiebreaker. they have a better divisional record.
You are truly a prototypical Mavs fan.
Meaning: you don't know shit about basketball.
The second tiebreaker is winning % in the conference.

Spurs couldn't get the offense going into Mavs defense, Mavs beat Spurs on both ends @ATT.
Mavs beat Spurs in the paint 36 - 28
Mavs outshot Spurs 51% - 38% (bad Spurs defense, AGAIN!)
Spurs too much in love with the 3G, 10 of 20, 50%, but can't hit layups and FGs.

Gang: Another crappy game by the good guys. We lose again. Perhaps my forecast of the Spurs making it to the Finals was a tad optimistic. Do we even make it out of the 2nd round?
My reason? Tim is just not himself. Is he finished as a top player? I know, I know, injuries. But people were saying that about Shaq 3-4 years ago too. If he can just get healthy, they said, Shaq would be right back on top. Fact is, injuries always play a major rôle in limiting players once they get old. So, Tim is clearly past his prime, and without the old Tim, we'll see in the playoffs what we've seen lately in the Seattle, Denver, L.A. Sacramento, and Dallas games.
But ... this notion about the boys not giving a crap, is just plain wrong. They played their hearts out. Unfortunately, it was not (will not be) enough in the playoffs.

Tim Duncan is finished as a superstar in this league.
HOWEVER, the Spurs have shown good success this year with a more guard-oriented team, less dependent on play in the post. That is where the boys are best anyway, in the backcourt. I'll put Manu, Tony, Fin, Barry, and Nick against any backcourt in the league.

Give the Mavs props, they played hard. I'm not gonna stress about any game before April 22, though. 4 of 7 fellas, that's all that matters.
Yep. Howard came up big for them the first half that kept them in the game. Without him they lose.
But did the game put him on the injured list again? Looked like he might have pulled a groin muscle or something there towards the end.
And Manu hobbling. Man it was a tough game.
But props to the Mavs. They pulled it out.
Now the Spurs gotta suck it up and go win the rest of em.

So, we'll see you guys at the Finals in Auburn Hills in June. Like gracious hosts, we'll be rollin' out the red carpet for the defending World Champions.
