Man, tall dudes just can't catch a break (no pun intended) when it comes to injuries in the NBA. Sucks - Yao was finally starting to put it all together in the second half.

it sucks... wow its horrible.... even though it increases our chances of winning that game at Houston that much, it's just terrible to see these sorta thing happen.

Rockets could get a better draft pick and hopefully Yao recovers.

Well, it's not like the Rockets were going to make the playoffs anyways. They've had a lot of bad luck this season. Hopefully, they'll be able to get a good lottery pick out of this.

Sadly Yao is racking up the foot injuries. Something tells me humans just aren't meant to be 7' 6" and 300+ pounds.

That's wrong. Not like the Rockets were going anywhere, but that sucks for him. Hopefully the Rockets get a healthy Yao and Mcgrady for the 2006-2007

This looks like a nice gift to us in terms of that particular game. It is just that it sucks to break your foot when the fact that being eliminated from the playoff hunt was a foregone conclusion. Get better Yao.

Yeah, for Spurs fans, there is an indirect silver lining ...
If the Mavericks are still one loss behind with the just the Houston game left for the Spurs, then the Mavs would get homecourt if the Spurs lose to the Rockets because the Mavs would have the better division record since the two teams would have the same overall record after a Spurs loss.
Not that anything is guaranteed, but it would appear that the Rockets would not put up much of a fight without Yao Ming AND without Tracy McGrady.
Anyway, that's one way of looking at it for Spurs fans.
Of course, it's horrible for Yao and for the Rockets franchise.

Actually, I just saw the replay and Yao did step on Derron Williams foot. He turned and stepped to pivot on his left foot and Williams stepped out right into his path, it was a long step too. That's the view NBA TV showed attributed to the way Yao broke it.

Why would you even worry about beating the Rockets with T-Mac already out? I just had to get on the board to see how many Spurs fans were going to say "sux for yao but helps us"...not very many I admit, but the few that are thinking it are heartless, the guy broke his foot! Your team can win this game easily even with Yao, they struggled against the Jazz tonight even before he went out and it went down to the wire. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the Rockets, I'd be more worried about the Sonics and Orlando who have been on a roll.

Poor Yao, he's done for the season .... no sure about WC in Japan ...
Hey Houston you got a problem with injury, bad luck this season.

Sucks for the Rockets.
T-Mac has been out for a lot of this season, and now Yao is done. Bad luck for them.
I'm wondering how his foot was broken, he got kicked in the foot, but how would break a bone by getting kick when you're wearing shoes...I could understand breaking a toe, but that is unusual.

With all the foot injuries Yao has had this could just be a cumulative problem finally catching up to him.

And the weird thing is this hasn't been all over the news in Houston. The fans have already forgotten the Rockets in favor of the delusion that the Astros are going to get back to the World Series this year.
