It's funny how the Spurs are "fighting" so hard for home court advantage and they can't even win at home!!!
:lol
Uh? Whats their home record??
Pistons < Spurs

i've hated parker since 2003 when he choked in the finals
Have you also hated his 19.2pts 5.9asts 3.3rbs and 54% shooting this year?

I dunno y'all ...
The Spurs lost at home to Sacramento and Dallas in back-to-back to games. We lose to the Lakers at home. We're going to lose tonight this game tonight to Orlando. And let us not forget how they looked against Detroit both times this year.
This is not a championship-calibre team. Hate to say it.

2-2 in their last 4 in April (Yup, that's .500), probably will be 2-3 on the 5-game homestand in April (yup, that's .400).
Haven't you ever listened to Pop? It's not what you've done in the past, it's how you're playing right now.

Nonsense. You'll be in the Finals just like last year come June.
I'm pretty sure if the Pistons win tomorrow @Toronto, the Home Court race is over when it comes down to best record overall. I'm not sure, though. So it's not like it really matters if that's the case.

Don Quixote

Let's not hate on Parker, though. It's not his fault we're losing (we lost) tonight. He's been our best and most consistent performer all year. Without him, we're not even close.
And playing poorly against Jason Kidd -- at the time the best PG in the world -- in the Finals, at age 19, is nothing to be ashamed of. Again, without Tony, we don't even go to the Finals in '03, or last year.
But, this is not a championship-level team overall. Detroit and Dallas are deeper and better.

Correction noted on Kittles guarding Parker, et al. Still, these men are all pros and playing a couple of crummy games against a very good team, at age 19, is not that big a deal. Folks, like my brother-in-law, who hate on Parker are misguided. If you want to hate, hate on our lack of depth in the frontcourt, for instance.
Also, there's still a chance we get by Dallas in the 2nd round. It's not like they are invincible. However, this Spurs team will be DOA against Detroit in the Finals. Swept.

Well, I've thought this all year. We've never looked like a championship team, not since Detroit pretty much took it to us in Dec. And whenever the Spurs play a team with a few athletic players and a little momentum and confidence, they don't have the athleticism to pull it out (e.g., the Atlanta game, Okla City).
I'm not even sure, with the injuries and poor play, we get out of the 1st round against Sacramento. They are much-improved, play much better D than they used to, and they put it to us on our court just last week.
To me, this is shades of '96. Finished with 59 wins, but tailed off down the stretch and got killed by Utah in the 2nd round.
Sorry. Please don't confuse me with a doom-and-gloom liberal. Just the facts.

None of those teams can play our type of D. Detroit is close, but the Spurs are the best defensive team in the league, so ya, I think it's safe to say that the Spurs will turn up the D and slow down Orlando in the second half.

Can we just chalk these recent losses up to the boys just being bored and anxious for the playoffs to begin?
I can't imagine Pop allowing that. We play to win. Always.
And it's not like we beat Detroit so convincingly last year, now did we? If it is complacency, then it's not justified. Detroit was one quarter from winning it last year.

If Tony wants to be a top PG, he needs to step up not only in BIG games, but in games that the team SHOULD win!
Just when I cheer for Barry, his inconsistency grabs my attention!
In a nutshell, I do believe that the Spurs are simply coasting to the Reg Season finish line.

My fear: They will NOT be able to turn it around beyond the first round!
I'm just venting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't Tony technically sick tonight?

I'm just venting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tony just had a bad night. I'll take this in the regular season over a Playoff, or FINALS(See last year) game. Tony needs to really beat himself up over this, get his head thinking for the team win. He needs to abandon "the young and everything to prove" attitude come playoff time.

:lol try loosening your panties. I'm ok with rest, but pop going to need to play him so he gets a rhythm for the playoffs. He needs to see the court even if it means reduced minutes. The problem is when manu plays and if we are losing, manu and the fans are going to want him to play more. Even tp is getting less minutes. TP played on 25 mins today.
I've not problem resting Manu, just I don't understand wtf was he doing
on the bench if Pop did know before that he would not play.

Bud,
If Tony was sick, I would hope POPS recognized this and made the adjustment, OH....., then his other option was Brent Barry.
Good point though.....I will cut TP some slack!

They will be in the playoffs next year.
The trio of Nelson, Howard and Darko will be very nice. They still need more time together.
Plus they'll have a decent draft pick this year to help aswell.
Their number one pick from a year ago is supposed to be on next year's roster as well (Fran Vasquez). Otis Smith and Dave Twardzik have done a great job cleaning up the John Weisbrod-John Gabriel mess.
It sucks the Pistons will get a 17-20 pick instead of something in the lottery in 2007. :(
I'm happy for Darko - 14 points, 7 boards, and 3 blocks - not against a team like Atlanta or Houston, but against one of the best frontlines in the game. That kid is going to be a stud for a long time.

(I may get blasted for saying is this)
For as much D Bowen brings to the team, we DO NOT get squat of offense from him.
Is this an area we need to explore in the off season as well as other "bench" areas?
This puts much pressure on our starting 3 (TD, TP, MG), because we definitely will should not hold our breath waiting to see what our Center production will bring to the game!
PHX's beat down on Dallas is helping me to calm down!!!!!!

Honestly, I hope it's that good. I have my doubts.
I think their inexperience will make it that good. They will lose a lot of games around mid-season when people stop thinking of them as an easy mark on the schedule. See New Orleans this season, for example. How they adjust to that will tell of their mental toughness and around late-March 2007 one of us will look very silly.
42-45 wins next season.

Guys, take heart. 15-2 in their last 17 games. That means that 44% of the Magic's 34 wins have come in the last 17 games (played 78). They have beat the holy trifecta - Detroit, Miami, and San Antonio. If they had a game against Dallas, I'm sure they could beat them, too.

I remember he was on the bench on a road game even though he wasn't playing, so he just had his uniform on the bench, because of the dress code rule.

Is this response in defense of Bowen's offense? If so, 7.7 pts per game avg isn't that much IMO.
Since 2001 BB is averaging 31 MPG and 7.3 PPG
Again, if this is your point, the Spurs will have to decide if this is something that they want to live with next season!
I love Bruce's D, but I wish he could bring more offense as well!

yes it was in response to your post. How do you think we won championships. With offense? Good perimeter players would have a field day against us. The suns might needs your support if you have an urge for offense. Once you're with them come back and analyze their championship runs.
LOL @ that Ali G playoffs commercial with Tim Duncan. I love those. The "win or go home" one is awesome too.

Yeah, I was just checking that; you're right. 11-1 in their last 12 games (significant because Brian Hill ripped his starters for their effort, and benched D.Howard for Darko for one game), have yet to lose in the month of April. Over those 12 games:
Hedo Turkoglu: 17.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.9 apg.
Dwight Howard: 15.9 ppg, 12.6 rpg, .92 bpg.
Jameer Nelson: 15.3 ppg, 4.3 apg, 2.3 rpg, and 1.00 spg.
Darko Milicic: 9.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.75 bpg, 1.2 apg.

Does anyone remember when Peter Vescey said Grant Hill was going to sign for the 2.5 million dollar mid-level exception (one year) to play with Tim Duncan in San Antonio? As a basketball fan, I would've killed to see those two guys on the same team.
PHX wins by 13. Thank you, Mr. Nash.
