Spurs forward Malik Rose is experiencing success in the restaurant business. Just over a year ago, Rose opened Malik's Philly's Phamous in the Alamo Quarry.

And within the next few months, he'll be opening a second location of the restaurant at 1604 and Bandera.

The menu, starring Malik and fellow Spurs favorites, features an array of the original style Philly Cheesesteak, plus a variety of other foods. For dessert, there is the "Iceman's" Italian Ice, a unique icy-treat available in 14 different flavors, or a "Tasty Kake," authentic bakery-fresh Philly pastries.

"It's going real well," said Rose.

"The new location should be open by February."

If they deal him the last thing I need to see is him in the Spurs' own division.

Kori Ellis

Back to the topic please.

ChumpDumper
10-04-2004, 11:25 PM
You mean the topic of Malik's restaurant?

Sure.

It would be nice if Malik opened a restaurant in Houston where 2pac, who lists his team as the San Antonio Spurs, could have a sammich in his current town whilst cheering on the owner, who would still be playing for the Spurs since he made no intimation said owner would have to be traded to the Rockets in order for him to open a restaurant in Houston.

Again I ask you -- do they have chicken cheesesteaks?

Marcus Bryant
10-04-2004, 11:29 PM
Hopefully Malik won't be opening up a restaurant in Houston due to a trade to the Rockets, one which ducks seems to think is possible. I don't think it's likely, but you never know given the desire the front office has shown to move him.

Malik's SA restaurant is ok. Visited it a year ago.

I'm glad that Malik stayed in town this summer. I believe it's the first time he's done so. He usually works out in Philadelphia ... which the Spurs frown upon because they cannot keep up with his progress.

I think that one move will make a difference and will be one less thing Pop has against him.

ducks
10-04-2004, 11:33 PM
spurs have tried to trade rose for a long time
I think spurs would trade rose in the same division if they have to.
he could also start a resturant in houston when he still is a spur
duncan was going to start one in another state.

The Spurs have turned down trades recently regarding Rose.

What are you trying to say, Buddy?

Kori Ellis
10-04-2004, 11:47 PM
His restaurant is pretty good. They give you a lot of food and it tastes good, but the set up isn't good. There's not a lot of seating room and the tv's are placed way too high.

Yes, they have chicken cheesesteak -- it's Defensive Phowl.

Here's the menu. http://www.phillysphamous.com/restaurant_menu.php

What are you trying to say, Buddy?

"Malik is getting traded this year."

"Malik's on the trading block."

"Malik will be gone before the seasons over."

In this thread alone.

Things like that.

Like they're on the phone with Pop and RC or in meetings.

Is the one on 1604 going to be built from scratch (the whole thing) or will they just move into a shopping center.

Oh ok, so it will be in a shopping center.

I think it's called Silverado Station. Right next to the theater. Hopefully it will have bigger tvs.

No one questions this.

But no one knows if the Spurs are still trying to trade.

Unless Gregg Popovich or RC Buford register and decide to make a post here disclosing all of the Spurs managements business then we will know. Until then, balding 30 years olds with half eaten ham sandwiches by their side typing in front of a dirty computer screen ain't cutting it.

I wasn't referring to TIMVP, I'm worry to posters on this board who speak as if they know what the hell they're saying when they don't. Those people are the ones who are saying Malik will be traded that the Spurs don't want him on the team, et.

I don't believe Timvp is one of those people.

They'll play Malik or trade him.

If you think they want Malik getting that money for 15mpg, you have a screw loose.

Sure they might not be looking to trade him now, but if things go like last year, don't act surprised.

I for one hope Malik plays minutes worthy of his contract, if not get rid of him. Waste of money.

Simple as that.

I think Malik's Philly Phamous is very good. I love that Philly Cheesteak there. I go there everytime I am in San Antonio. It is very good but it makes you go to the restroom. The new place will be opening up close to my relatives house which will make it easier to go when I go visit.
