Well, I can post again...
The Mavs sucked last night...congrats to the Spurs for getting it done and taking it back to SA. Especially Michael Finley...he was money all night...
Harris - make a freakin' layup
Daniels - where'd you go in the 2nd half?
Dirk - that was a grown ass man performance...too bad Howard was the only guy that helped
Stack - never should've started...Daniels should've
KVH - I thought for a minute that he would be the spare to break Spurs fans hearts, much like Kerr did a few years ago...
Another game that could've gone either way...you gotta love this series! Game 7 will be insane...I don't know if I can take it. I'd hate to know what my blood pressure is at the ends of these games... :oops
The best team always wins a 7 game series, right? It won't be easy, but games 1, 2, and 5 showed that the Mavs can hang on the Spurs court.
GO MAVS GO!! :fro

I was surprised and happy too when I saw Stackhouse in the starting lineup. He's been so effective off the bench for Dallas that I really thought AJ would keep him there and go with Daniels as. I dont know if it threw him off his rhythm or what but after the first qtr, he didn't do jack.

Stackhouse did not do the Mavs any favors, but who else would you start? He has been money in the past. Please dont overlook the intensity on both sides which just might have a tiny little bit to do with execution of opposing players. Both these teams are going all out and not everyone can have their way all the time.
Game 7 will rock.

Dallas has been Stern'd.So then you can admit we got "Stern'd" in games 3-4 because the free throws were lob sided. Give me a break. Games 1, 2, 5 and 6 I think were called pretty evenly. Last night in the first half for the most part the refs just let them play. In the 2nd half there was one noticable call which was Harris forearm on Bowen that could have easily been a no call. But I have to say it was pretty even last night.

# of FT's is pointless...way too many variables involved in getting to those #'s...
How well does a team spread their fouls out to stay out of the bonus for long periods of time?
How much more does 1 team drive to the basket than the other?
Shooting fouls vs non-shooting fouls.
Last minute desperation fouls (non applicable to any game but game 6 probably)

Stfu you idiot. 50-39 is no massive lopsided freethrow count. Game 4 had the same amount of free throws. The last 2 games the spurs have had 25 more freethrows. The spurs have obviously have gotten the better of the calls. Especially the second half of last game.

I think the dishearting thing for Mavs fans is that that they got TD off the court for the last 6:30 of the 2nd quarter and couldn't shake the Spurs. Don't talk to me about Terry not being there. You had that plus were able to D up on Parker.

i call bullshit i said i said
a) You won. Stop complaining about officiating.
b) More fouls were called on the Mavs than the Spurs in the first half, so I think it is hard to argue it was all mavs. It was 13 to 6 in favor in the second half, so that may be why it looked better.
c) It didn't matter, the players (Manu being good, Stack being bad) decided the game.

Maybe you should tell your team to stop settling for jump shots in the 2nd half. You guys had the formula for games 2 and 3. Be aggressive towards the rim and you get calls. Plain and simple.
Duncan, Bowen, Horry and Manu had 3 fouls before halftime. Did they fuckin' make excuses? They just played and found a way to win.

Four of those being intentional don't forget. :lol
So lets say 12.
Check the boxscore.
The two leaders for the Spurs in freethrow shooting were Tim and Manu.
The two most aggressive guys of the night.
And seeing how everyone but your star played like the thing you have between your legs, them taking very little freethrows isn't surprising.
Them taking 50 is. It's actually down right shocking.

b. look at the kinds of fouls being called on mav (i.e. smacking td's forearms) compared to spurs (i.e. phantom 'blocking' fouls)
And Damp getting called for getting to the spot befor TD and TD initiating contact. It goes both ways. Or Devin getting called for an offensive foul when he is ahead of Bowen on a break away, Bruce is out of position to make a play, and any attempt by Bruce to get the ball would have been a reach in. It goes both ways. Good calls and bad calls.
The players decided the game. Calls were good and bad for both teams.

Spurs season would be over if Terry played last night. I truly believe that. I don't think the league office should have ever gotten involved in the first place when there was no foul on the floor. Truly a bush league move and I don't care if he punched him or not.
Still the Spurs won the game. I still like our chances in Game 7, even with the expected 10-15 Duncan calls that will be made on our centers.

Mavs, Cuban hit where it hurts
12:24 PM CDT on Friday, May 19, 2006
It should've been no surprise that Mark Cuban ventured into the film business a few years ago. He's shown a keen interest in the visual arts during most of his time as Mavericks owner.
Ask Chris Webber. Shaquille O'Neal. Yao Ming.
All became subjects of Cuban productions in recent years, productions he was so proud of that he shared them with the league office. Wanted it to see how Webber dragged his pivot foot and the referees never called it. How Shaq always stepped across the free throw line before his shot hit anything. How Yao set moving screens that weren't drawing whistles.
The chicken came home to roost Thursday.
How else to explain the sudden unexpected suspension of starting guard Jason Terry for tonight's Game 6? The league announced late Thursday afternoon that it was benching Terry for punching Michael Finley during a scrum with seconds left in Game 5.
Finley was unusually agitated after the grappling. Terry wasn't assessed a foul on the play. No one seemed to see anything unseemly happen. A jump ball was called.
But the Spurs went Cuban on the Mavericks sometime after the game. They sent a tape to the league office that showed Terry landing a punch to Finley's groin.
It was an easy decision for league disciplinarian Stu Jackson, who earlier in this postseason tossed Miami's Udonis Haslem for a game for angrily throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of an official.
Cuban, not surprisingly, disagreed with Jackson's penalty. A fine was due, he said, but not a suspension.
Oh, well. Live by Netflix, die by Netflix.
Cuban isn't the only NBA team boss who sends the league office tape. He's just made his team one of the biggest exercisers of the practice.
Now the Mavericks' great opportunity to move past the Spurs in the playoffs for the first time is in great jeopardy. With Terry and the home court, where the Spurs haven't beaten the Mavericks in two games during this series, it seemed like tonight's game was theirs to lose. With Terry in civvies, it will be the Spurs' to lose. This will test coach of the year Avery Johnson and his staff like they haven't been all year.
What, after all, are they to do? Return Adrian Griffin to the starting lineup? Griffin teamed with Terry until it became apparent after Game 1 that the team was better with Devin Harris joining Terry in the backcourt and trying to run past the Spurs. Griffin hasn't even played the last three games.
How about starting Marquis Daniels? Johnson has had to defend Daniels as being one of "his guys" because he seems so often to have little patience for any Daniels miscue, as was the case early in this series, when he snatched Daniels after a horrible turnover and foul.
Or how about return Jerry Stackhouse to a starter's role and sacrifice all that microwaved offense he brings off the bench? The bench is short of scorers as it is.
WFAA-TV
WFAA-TV
Jason Terry, on the bottom of the pile, connects with a punch to the groin area of Michael Finley in Game 5.
Of course, the NBA conspiracy theorists among us are probably saying that this is all a grand scheme by the league to somehow ensure that the most-anticipated matchup of the postseason, which is living up to expectations and then some, keeps going until the deciding Game 7 in San Antonio.
But that's pure poppycock. Don King isn't running this show. And the way these playoffs have been going, what with all the overtimes and buzzer-beaters and nail-biters and upsets, the league doesn't need to orchestrate any theater.
The bottom line is that Terry, one of a locker room full of good guys for the Mavericks, lost his cool for a split second and, as a result, got what anyone else who committed the offense he did would get: a game off.
It wasn't Raja Bell clotheslining Kobe Bryant, which Bell did foolishly in Game 5 of the Suns' opening-round series against the Lakers to draw a Game 6 suspension. It wasn't Ron Artest elbowing Manu Ginobili in the head in the opener of the Kings-Spurs series, which cost the historically feisty Artest a Game 2 appearance. It wasn't Miami's James Posey bum-rushing Chicago's Kirk Hinrich, which cost Posey a game in the Heat-Bulls opening-round series.
But it was a punch. The league doesn't tolerate it; can't tolerate it. Terry has no one to blame except himself – at least for losing his cool.
Having been found out, however, after no one saw anything untoward at first, is something Terry can share with his boss.
Had the fist been on the opposition's arm, you can bet a tape would've been overnighted from Dallas to New York pointing out the transgression and calling for justice.
