I just got back from this movie...it's...it's one of a kind.

It's part brilliant political satire, part toilet humor. It's very crude. Do not take young children to see this movie. It's kinda like a combination of Deep Throat and All the President's Men.. for this era.

The political satire is genius. It's fucking pure genius. Seriously, it's a deadly accurate political satire.

You will hear the most profound political commentary ever...and it's all done using nothing more than an analogy of dicks, pussies and assholes. It's awesome. I wish I'd thought of it.

Just as the old guard Hollywood Republicans(John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope, etc) suddenly found themselves out of style in the mid 60's...

We are now seeing the end of 30 years of whining hypocritical liberalism. Thank God.

These guys(Hollywood Liberals) have been criticizing every one in every film made for the last 35 something years. The image Hollywood has projected of America for much of this time plays a huge role in the distrust and negative image of our country and government worldwide.

Finally someone has given the Hollywood Liberal establishment a taste of it's own medicine. Everyone at the theatre when I was there was a young 18-21 year old kid and they loved this movie. Hollywood liberalism has definitely jumped the shark. It is the establishment now, and this generation is going to take it down like the wall of overly PC Bullshit it has become.

I won't say it's conservatism that is coming back...true conservatives are likely to have a heart attack in this movie....It's something else...but I like it more than the ultra tired Hollywood Liberalism.

This move does take it's shots at the right, but make no mistake about it...this movie bashes the living shit out of Hollywood Liberals and hits the proverbial nail on the head.

The soundtrack is genius. I am definitely buying it when it comes out...."America Fuck Yeah" is the main theme...I have a feeling that's going to be a hit in Iraq.

It's not the best song though...the montage song is great(it's a song making fun of montages)...Pearl Harbor(the movie) sucked and I miss you...is a great song...as is Kim Jong Il's sad ballad I'm ronery(lonely) LMAO.

But if you sit through the credits you'll get to hear a real gem of a song called...Alec Baldwin, you're worthless.

No Hollywood Liberal escapes the scathing political commentary in this movie...

If you, like me, have gotten sick of liberalism that is so liberal that it sides with the bad guys, and is actually a form of anti-Americanism...and has become a tired, whining, negative and confused voice...You'll love this movie.

You get to see all the Hollywood baddies killed...Sarandon, Robbins, Moore, Garafalo ...all of them. It's a genuine guilty pleasure for those of us that have had enough of these pompous, self-absorbed assholes, that think because they are rich and famous, they can just sit on their thrones spouting BS idealism and heaping bitter resentment and ridicule on those that don't share their views. God it felt good.

Young Republicans will like this movie probably, as will those that still have enough common sense to see that the real bad guys aren't our govenment or patriotic Americans..Liberals are going to hate it because it so perfectly captures just what a joke they have become...

I know Republicans will be able to handle being made fun of better than the liberals...The Republicans have been putting up with it for the past 30 years while Hollywood has been a Liberal Haven...

Let's see how well the liberals handle it, now that they are getting a taste of their own medicine and someone is pointing out how full of shit , cliched, unrealistic, self serving, and out of touch, their political views are.

I reccomend seeing this movie(unless you are a liberal, then you'll like it less than Bush liked lardass 911).

Thanks, but be warned...it bashes the right...but the right gets bashed so much by the left in general that it hardly registers in this movie.

What makes the movie unique and so enjoyable is the vigorous bashing of the hollywood left. I currently am leaning to the right and the right bashing was tame compared to the average Hollywood movie. I laughed at the bashing of the right, some of it was accurate...I was in absolute ecstasy at the bashing of the hollywood left.

If you are truly a conservative, in every sense of the word, it might be very offensive to you given the language and puppet sex.

But it simply cannot be beat if you are really sick of hollywood liberals.

If Michael Moore indeed blows up as advertised, then friend, that's worth the price of admission... :)

LOL you get that and more. Sarandon gets it pretty good...Tim Robbins actually puts up a pretty good fight. They pretty much paint a very ugly picture of Moore before he blows up lol.

Best movie I've seen in quite some time. What is especially humorous is when some of the left of center political persuasion refuse to believe that it clowned them.

Team America spared no side and that's what made it exceptional viewing.

That theme song is frighteningly good and funny, particularly the full version and it's list of "American" things -- WalMart, porno, slavery, baseball, NFL, fake tits, and others.

What's even funnier, though, is the depressed out version of the song in the movie.

It's an absolutely brilliant satire that really digs hard on both sides and, particularly, at extremists. It's free political speech at its very best.

Ahhh it definitely went after the Left harder than the Right...perhaps it seems equal...but the fact of the matter is that the right hasn't had the Hollywood Stage to spout off their politics and spew their venom, to the degree that the left has for the past 35 years...

It was the degree to which the left was attacked in a Cinematic release which was unusual...

The attack on the right was tame by stadards of the past 30 years...You get much more right bashing in a typical 5 minute Oscar acceptance speech than you do in the entireity of this film...

IIRC, this film didn't even allude that Bush was behind 911...That was pretty much the Democratic Party line in this past election...

Tame...and the H Liberals are the ones that get killed(and lose).

Sure, it's rare to see the Left dumped on in a movie, which is why most lefties who saw it immediately slipped into denial mode and most conservatives didn't see the slights delivered to them.

The movie offered something for everyone and yet, it clowned them at the same time. If you can get people to laugh when the joke's on them, you're doing something right.

midgetonadonkey

The genius behind the movie is that it makes the statement that all left and right wingers, are fucking idiots. People should look at each situation for what it is and base their opinion on the situation only. Not on whether you are a conservative or liberal. I don't agree with all of the stuff the right wing people say and do, the same way I don't agree with all the left winger liberal shit. I think people need to stop trying to stay within a classification and base beliefs on what's right, not on what a political party tells you to believe.

That's just my two nickles....

Fuck you. I said it fucking attacked the left worse and it did...

What did they call the right? A bunch of dicksucking boyscouts or something to that effect?

Gee...that's cutting edge...for 1966.

You know what?

You are dangerously close to letting your libertarianism turn you into a PC pussy...you fucking scale.

It may sound good to say both were bashed equally...they really weren't...I think the lefties that picked up on this are sharp...and of course they won't laugh at themselves over it...half those clowns can't handle someone killing a roach without getting emotional over it...how you expect them to handle criticism?

And while historically it may have been accurate to say both sides are equally fucked up...

It really isn't the case anymore...the Democrats are far more fucked up here, they reside on the extreme left, ...and the second most of fucked up group of people are those that think the parties are equally fucked up...

This is not to say that the right isn't seriously fucked up...but it's the model of sanity compared to everything else...

I am hoping this changes of course, and that the crats will snap out of it and give us a respectable candidate in the next election...because I really think we are in danger of becoming too right oriented, but that's still the better choice than the self destructive and clueless path the left seem determined to take. Right now the choice is moving backwards or self destruction...I'll take moving backwards for the time being.

But back to my original point...

Fuck you. The left got bashed worse in this film...it's obvious.

FromWayDowntown

I don't know, whottt. I just watched the film two nights ago, and I thought it took plenty of shots at the Right, too. In fact, the majority of shots at the left are aimed at the actors and actresses portrayed in the film, and Parker and Stone note in some of the other materials that they have a rampant distaste for actors period, which may account for the vitriol more than any particular ideology.

Still, I think the film was fair in the shots it took at both sides -- but again, it takes those shots against extremists on both sides, not those who are in the middle, like most of us.

If you believe that anyone who votes Democrat is some extremist, America-hating liberal, then nothing will convince you that Parker & Stone took a different tack than the one you choose to see.

Marcus Bryant
07-12-2005, 06:13 PM
My my. Someone's panties are in a bunch.

The hits on conservatives came in the form of the caricatures of those for the 'War on Terror' in the film. That means Team America itself. A number of the tunes were downright hilarious and definitely weren't hits on the left, such as the theme song itself as well as the "Freedom Isn't Free" song, a rather obvious slam at the variety of country hits that showed up after 9-11. If you weren't thinking Toby Keith after you heard that you don't know who he is.

So whottt falls into the category of those who saw the film through partisan eyes, those who didn't realize they were being clowned too.

Congrats.

Oh, and Fuck You.
