Today I was at the store buying beer and cigarettes and decided to buy a lotto ticket. I RARELY buy a lotto ticket, something just told me to buy it even though its "ONLY" 12mil :angel . I know the lady at the register and in a friendly way "threatened" her that my ticket better be a winner and if it was I said I'd split it with her..

Now honestly speaking, after thinking about it, I really would do it, even though it was said in passing conversation...

I REALLY want people to think about this before they answer... would you REALLY split it evenly?

would you?

P.S. I swear on my future kids life, if I where to win I WILL go back and split it evenly with her. here's to hoping I win :drunk

Did you see it? It's about the same subject.

Honestly, I don't think I'd split it half and half. I think I'd give the person a percentage ... but it wouldn't be half. :lol

You arent going to win. So there is no need to worry.

If I do, I will pay $2,000 for you to print that sentance and eat the piece of paper :lol

I know Its improbable that I will win... but one can dream.

And Kori... I think I might be able to schooch around in life with 6mil after taxes. It might be a tough life but Im strong :angel

I'm just saying in my case I'd give some to people I know, so I wouldn't have 50% available for the store clerk. :lol

actually you cant split that shit with the lady who sold that ticket to you, i think there is stipulations in contracts between lottos and vendors........no bribery corruption shit. Have you ever in history seen anyone split a winning with a vendor of lotto tickets, no.

Well, the Lottery Commission does pay the people who sold the ticket a certain amount of money.

Tell the cashier that the bookies were after you, and you had to give them it all.

Where did you get 6 mil after taxes? If you did cash option then you will have about 6 mil BEFORE any split and taxes...figure the IRS gets half of that and you will end up with about 1.5 mil after tax if you split it 50/50.

I may be stealing Mr. Dictionary's thunder here, but the word "split" does not necessarily mean "to divide evenly."

Main Entry: 1split
Pronunciation: 'split
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): split; split·ting
Etymology: Dutch splitten, from Middle Dutch; akin to Middle High German splIzen to split and probably to Old High German spaltan to split
transitive verb
1 a : to divide lengthwise usually along a grain or seam or by layers b : to affect as if by cleaving or forcing apart <the river splits the town in two>
2 a (1) : to tear or rend apart : BURST (2) : to subject (an atom or atomic nucleus) to artificial disintegration by fission b : to affect as if by breaking up or tearing apart : SHATTER <a roar that split the air>
3 : to divide into parts or portions: as a : to divide between persons : SHARE b : to divide into factions, parties, or groups c : to mark (a ballot) or cast or register (a vote) so as to vote for candidates of different parties d (1) : to divide or break down (a chemical compound) into constituents <split a fat into glycerol and fatty acids> (2) : to remove by such separation <split off carbon dioxide> e : to divide (stock) by issuing a larger number of shares to existing shareholders usually without increase in total par value
4 : to separate (the parts of a whole) by interposing something <split an infinitive>
