On a night where we were playing Spurs basketball and had Cleveland in lock down, Pop trots out the lamest five of all time to start the fourth. It took the Cavs all of two minutes to erase the lead and in the course of it get Hughes into a zone.

you know what sucks about this season that may end up ruining us? We have lost games in so many different ways, teams only need a few game tapes to break down our defense. Yeah lets let the winner that is PJ coach.

Brilliant.

It's fucking brilliant because in this game because pop has ignored common sense. Like ehhhhhhh maybe

1. Not playing an "all white jv high school girls team" and letting the cavs get back in the game. Oberto missed two WIDE OPEN layups back to back but pop leans back on reclines on the bench pretending like he's leading by 50. It's not fucking garbage time. You play to win the game.

2. Not giving others playing time. FIN played very well and didn't even touch the floor after that. He was actually aggressive. That's something that's probably not synonymous with Barry. Barry is a shooter, period. Other than his shooting, he's a soft cushion that has nothing on pampers. FIN should have seen more time.

EWill like you said should see some time but who gives a fuck. Lets let Lebron punish Bowen and see what Bowen can do on offense. ehhh Zero pts

3. Tech don't work to fire a team up when you are down big in the middle of the fourth quarter. Try coaching your team in the timeouts like maybe telling Tim to keep the ball off the ground. It's sad to be leader in turns time and time again. Eric Snow didn't shit in the offensively but was probably the most effective player in the game behind Hughes.

Fuck. The spurs had the game and right pace to the game. Low scoring and very methodically but then pop allows the league to dwindle. Fucking pathetic. Manu didn't show up but this game was very winnable. PJ is not accomplished. So what? I don't give a shit. Sometimes you need a coach with some common sense.

I kinda like this loss, actually. The Spurs defense was pretty damn solid. They held the Cavs down and made them shoot some tough shots. You force Larry Hughes to beat you with his jumper and you usually win those games.

The problem was the Spurs' offense ... and that is correctable. Duncan was playing at like 20% and compounded it with his cry baby whining. I remember the good ol' days when Tim Duncan was just a basketball player.

And the Spurs aren't going to win many when Bowen and Manu miss their first 13 shots.

It serves the Spurs right for whining like bitches about "the new ball" and then getting the old ball back and not being able to hit the broad side of an AT&T Center.

ponky
01-02-2007, 09:50 PM
it's weird how the cavs have the spurs' number for some reason when they can't beat other lesser teams...kind of like how golden state has the mavs' number even though the texas teams are the better teams...in the end, it doesn't really matter unless spurs/cavs end up in the finals in which case i guess they'd have a slight mental edge but little experience

which is why i question pops coaching this year. no in-game adjustments just his methodical rotations...inability to sense and stop momentum changes. and his lack of awareness of the hot hand...fin and horry were playing great and they were glued to the bench.

pop really needs to get in timmy's ass and tell him to man up and ball. his whining to the refs for bailout calls and his carelessness with the ball is beginning to piss me off. fuck, how many times was he stripped. at some point i expected him to keep the ball high like kevin mchale but this dood just kept doing that soft shit over and over again...wtf???

Each team's overall stats were almost identical. Both teams had a hard time shooting and were struggling a bit with the ball.

My only real complaint is our lack of aggressiveness. IMO, Cleveland won the game because they played with energy for 48 minutes. If we could just do that and quit looking for calls, I think we'd have a different outcome tonight.

it's weird how the cavs have the spurs' number for some reason when they can't beat other lesser teams...kind of like how golden state has the mavs' number even though the texas teams are the better teams...in the end, it doesn't really matter unless spurs/cavs end up in the finals in which case i guess they'd have a slight mental edge but little experience

cavs would get s-t-o-m-p-e-d stomed in a finals series with San Antonio.

Unless the refs get involved (a la Dwayne Wade style against Dallas)

Spurs are gonna lose. Nobody is playing well, it's just one of those nights.
