The problem was the Spurs' offense ... and that is correctable. Duncan was playing at like 20% and compounded it with his cry baby whining. I remember the good ol' days when Tim Duncan was just a basketball player.WTF is up with that? We hear all this bullshit about how Pop treats Tim like all the other players and it's clear that's just bullshit. Pop needs to go Rookie Year Tony Parker on him.

I kinda like this loss, actually. The Spurs defense was pretty damn solid. They held the Cavs down and made them shoot some tough shots. You force Larry Hughes to beat you with his jumper and you usually win those games.

And the Spurs aren't going to win many when Bowen and Manu miss their first 13 shots.
It serves the Spurs right for whining like bitches about "the new ball" and then getting the old ball back and not being able to hit the broad side of an AT&T Center.
timvp, i think the spurs playe good D in spurts, but I blame the low scoring more on atrocious offense than good defense
I mean the cavs got more points in the 4th quarter than the entire first 3 qtrs combined
For a team full of so many veterans, these kinds of collapses is inexcusable
Yes, Pop's dumbass lineups aren't helping things, but the players need to take some responsiblity and make things happen earlier as oppose to trying hard the last 2 minutes of the game
It's only january, but I have a bad feeling we'll still be having this talk come late march
The offense could be corrected, I agree, but the team's execution down the stretch was atrocious

This team isn't winning the championship, you guys can say that it's so early on, but they have not been impressive against quality young teams all year long. I never jump off the wagon but this just ices my theory.

cavs would get s-t-o-m-p-e-d stomed in a finals series with San Antonio.
Unless the refs get involved (a la Dwayne Wade style against Dallas)
that's why i said they *might* have a slight mental edge but NO EXPERIENCE...i think they'd get stomped too, so this game doesn't really matter much but it's weird and it's not even like LBJ played well the way they did in the other wins...anyway, time to tune in to 76ers in denver, i wanna see AI go off!

i don't think it's too early...i think that if they don't make any trades they are certainly not winning the title

They're not. It's a back-to-back, the Spurs are like that; they're little bitches because they aren't in shape to play Basketball two nights in a row. They're in shape to play Basketball every other night, but they still won't show up to beat a eastcoast team like the Cavs. They're playing like they don't want to make the playoffs and if they somehow do, they wanna get kicked out the 1st round so they can rest.

trade manu-he is not good at all anymore (i think he took steroids or something in 05 to have been that good..now he is just not the same player)!
One bad shooting night and you've turned on him this badly? Please. It was obvious that he and Bruce had a hard time readjusting to the ball. Some players are going to adjust quicker than others. Both teams shot like shit.

fair enough but allowing the other team to score 38 points in the 4th quarter, be it old ball, new ball, or tennis ball is inexcusable

it all started with that soft defensive lineup at the beginning of the 4th...and went down hill quickly and Pop did nothing to stop it. then he gets 2 technicals to compound the lost lead.

One team was bound to pull ahead and unfortunately it was the Cavs. The Spurs were so pissed about the calls they weren't getting, and the calls going against them, that everything else became a moo point. (My homage to Joey). They need to stop acting like primadonnas and start being the aggressors.
As for Manu, he gets a little freaked out when his shot isn't falling. Since his shooting % has been higher, he probably psyched himself out wondering if the ball would affect his shot and it inevitably got the better of him.

He's played fine so far this season. It's one loss. Deal with it. I imagine that the next game that he goes off for 20+ you're going to be singing his praises again. Stop fairweathering or change your title.

Tony gave it his all and even though he got stripped a few times, he kept fighting and stay aggressive. He also did a good job getting back on D. I'm sure he was mad/sad.
This Spurs team needs to regroup and get ready for Minny tomorrow. Tim better play pissed off.

If Bruce is not in the game or playing who is going to shut down the big scores like a Kobe or Lebrone on other teams. I am not seeing the all in the face defense from the other guys, but I am seeing more whining from the big guy. The key to The Spurs success is to get back down court and play defense.

Lebron always mutilates Bowen
I think Lebron's of night has more to do with just having an off night then Bruce hurting his shots

Not always. But Bruce is way to small to have to guard him one-on-one for the whole game. Tonight he got help. Plus LeBron, like everyone else, couldn't shoot.
