MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota's Kevin Garnett chucked a dead ball at Detroit's Antonio McDyess in the fourth quarter with the Timberwolves and Pistons tied at 70 Friday night, leading to an angry tangle and technical fouls and ejections for both players.

McDyess gave a forearm shiver to knock over Minnesota's Mark Madsen while they were underneath the basket jockeying for position on a rebound. Garnett got mad and fired the ball at McDyess, who charged at him with his fist cocked.

Garnett retreated, but was also ready to throw a punch. No blows were thrown, and teammates and officials stayed between the two to prevent any serious trouble.

Melo made a big mistake by punching someone, then realised it would cost him and he backpeddled to not make it any worse.

The only difference is that Melo oved back alot quicker.

KG has to get suspended at least a game or two coz Melo was dealt with extremely harshly.

Well I didn't think Melo deserved 15 games either. But if you throw a punch and it connects and that equals 15 games then if you throw a punch and even if it does not connect it should be at least 1/3 of the punishment of connecting with it.

But Garnett not only tossed a punch but also threw a ball at a player.

If you want to take out the fighting as Stern says he does then you have to be a hard ass all across the board. not just pick and choose who you think should get more.
