i think this is correct as far as both the mavs and spurs are concerned. the mavs did pull out a seven game series against the rockets two years ago after losing the first two games (then they got punk'd in the second round to a fresh suns team) but this is not desirable by any means

Dallas didn't execute the gameplan. Maybe they will have more success now that they see what the Warriors are doing on defense. Small ball was not the problem though. When Dallas did go big it was a huge mismatch. Harrington is a baller and shoots over 40% from 3's since he came to Golden State. You really think Dampier or Diop have a chance in hell to guarding him? If Dallas will win this series, they'll have to do it small and make shots. If Dallas doesn't make shots they'll lose. I blame Dirk and Stackhouse most for this loss though. They were terrible.

We don't need them to have the offensive capablity to beat you. We need them to cause pressure on you defensively consistently in which they did last night. It's no coincidence that when both were in the game at times, we had a big run. We were -6 in rebounds in the 1st quarter but plus 11 when Damp and Diop came in the game. Is that a coincidence? Fuck small ball. We do not need to play to a teams strength that won 42 games. We need to play the lineups that got us 67 wins. Right now, I bet DFW is blasting Avery for that lineup last night. He overcoaches sometimes. Reminds me of game 3 of the finals last year.
