Look how they celebrate for a round 1 victory.
The whole building would fall down if they won the championship.

They're the 8th seed, playing a team with 25 more wins than they had and coming off an all-time sort of regular season, and they're in the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

I think they deserve to celebrate even first round wins.

Not how Dirk only makes his shots when there is nothing to loose. Pity he couldn't make them when the game was within reach...

This is AWESOME!

The funny thing is Dallas could have tried to beat the W's in the second last game of the reg season and then they would probably be sweeping the clips! But maybe they just didn't want to be embarassed so they rested their starters!

Nah, the difference is. Mavs seem almost soft mentally.

We've got guys who have been there, and won't back down. We were down 3-1 and took it to seven , which was decided on a play. We didn't choke. Mavs choked today.

Besides Denver doesn't have our number. We have theirs, and we know what it takes to do the job. Right.

That said, if GS beats Dallas on Tuesday, I'm not gonna look to gloat. Just go with each game, and whatever happens happens. Then if SanAntonio takes the series. Well.... :smokin :smokin :smokin :smokin

There were plenty of indications leading into this that a matchup with GS could be trouble for the Mavs.

i can remember an interview with kenny smith saying that they lucked out with denver beating the sonics... that the sonics were a nightmare matchup to that rockets team.... im assuming the denver situation was similar in that they matched up well with the SS's

interesting thing is that we've seen a lot of "hate" teams being built.... as in teams specifically built to counter another team... maybe not that great against other teams... but great against what they are built for.

Unreal.

Is this <> if the Warriors win, than Nuggets over Sonics?

I'd say so. This is a 7 game series, not 5. Supposed to favor the better teams.

DAL was sooo dominant in the regular season. Too lazy too look it up, but there all kinds of stats being thrown around. "Every team with 65+ has gone on to win it all" etc etc. So even a 2nd round loss would have been big, but if they lose in the 1st round ...

True. I mean, if Mavs come back from 3-1 and take it to seven. We would have wasted the moment. Besides, I'm pretty sure people are feeling for the Mavs. It's definitely not the fans fault for the Mavs getting so fucking scared.

If I were a Mavs fan I'd be pretty disappointed at their mental game. They were fucking airballing, throwing stupid passes. It wasn't something to be proud of. But I wanna see how the Mavs respond to the challenge on Tuesday--if they're gonna keep swinging or if they WERE completely castrated from this game.

But they're right, Mavs probably played their best game of the last three. In fact, Mavs were able to keep the game at their pace for most of the first half, and would have left up 3 if it weren't for that lucky shot by the hottest player in the series.

Mavs didn't even dominate the only game they won. They haven't even come CLOSE to dominating the other three.

Gosh, this is hilarious. Little Brother (MavsFan), come back when your team is ready to perform when it counts. This regular season bullcrap means nothing.

There's comedy (Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle), there's high comedy (Austin, Texas, public access TV, especially the kooks), and then there's the Mavs gagging in the first round. They're making the Warriors look like the '96 Bulls.

I thought the Dallas Mavericks were supposed to be the Second Coming. They had a fine season ... shoot, beat us 3 out of 4. Oh well, guess it's time for Big Brother (us) to win another title.

Darn shame, actually, because I'm sure the Spurs wanted to put a good spanking on Dallas after what happened last year in the semis.

I think the point is, the Mavs WERE favored to win, but they haven't shown that when it counts.

They played like pussies down the stretch for a 67 win team. And the Warriors have been playing like the 67 win team. And Baron Davis fucking iced it like an MVP candidate with that amazing shot. Mavs are still the Mavs. Six points down with less than one minute to go, I said to my son "These are still the Mavs". What happens? Dirk hits his first tre and after some FT's on the other end, hits another with :14 left of the clock, only down 3. You can say "Oh well, they just need to take it one game at a time and they can win the series. If they win Game 5, the pressure is back on GS"

Try this: GS just needs to win 1 game and they're done.

A team down 1-3 still has a chance if the scenario plays out in their favor, but the team up 3-1 has the better chance period.

Most people are freaking out over this series so far. To me its no surprise, just revealing what I've been saying all year: The Mavs are overrated. And the Mavs have hit the low point if Jerry Stackhouse is their leading scorer in a game.

A little perspective ...
the Spurs are totally capable of laying an egg on the court. Exhibits A-D: they got spanked by Boston at home, Milwaukee twice, and Charlotte at home this season. But you can rest assured that they would not pull any of that nonsense in the playoffs.

Their last trip to the Finals, when they picked up their third trophy, I do remember the Spurs getting beat like a red-headed sister a couple of times, although they were up against a very good, borderline-great team.

Ok, count out the Mavericks like they did the Spus last year, the mavericks in 05.....

The difference is that the Spurs had their championship experience to fall back on when they were down 3-1. They knew the fans would still be behind them because they had the rings. Plus, they legitamately felt they were fucked by the refs in both Games 3 and 4 in Dallas and the zebras had more to do with those losses than the Mavs did.

It's not the same for Dallas. Their crowd won't be going crazy for them. I don't think they have too many fans left who think they'll still win this series. The team has let them down too many times before and there's no NBA Champion banners in the ceiling. And they can't rationalize the losses on the refs either because the refs haven't helped the Warriors out at all.

Face it dude, AJ pulled out all the stops tonight. He played Dirk, Howard and Terry to death. Check the box score. They cannot expand any more energy than they did tonight. They might play better, but they can't play any harder. They're gonna be totally drained.

No matter what happens in this series, even if by sick miracle they pull it out, the Mavs will feel the effects down the road. Don't forget last year we had to go 6 with Sacramento while Dallas swept Memphis easily.

Tpark you are wrong about the Houston series from 2 years ago. In that series Dallas went down 0-2. They dropped their first 2 home games to the Rockets. Then they went on to win 3 straight after that going up 3-2. Rockets win game 6 and then it goes to 7. That was a totally difference scenario. No matter how you spin it 3-1 sucks ass very few teams have comeback from that.

considering how much you like to talk about the mavs choking, something they did tonight, you of all people, should be able to understand the confusion. if you read your comment until the end, the part where you talk about the mavs choking, one could interpret is as meaning "the mavs will be the mavs" and therefore they will choke.
Maybe because "CHOKE" was all you saw in the whole entire post! :lol

Try reading S-L-O-W-L-Y if your comprhension is naturally shallow. Then you can extrapulate as much info as possible.

Slamming your tight ass won't be necessary in that case, savy?

A little perspective ...
the Spurs are totally capable of laying an egg on the court. Exhibits A-D: they got spanked by Boston at home, Milwaukee twice, and Charlotte at home this season. But you can rest assured that they would not pull any of that nonsense in the playoffs.

Their last trip to the Finals, when they picked up their third trophy, I do remember the Spurs getting beat like a red-headed sister a couple of times, although they were up against a very good, borderline-great team.

Somehow I feel that the current state of the Fallus-GS series will put a little extra step in the Spurs shoes.

Ok thanks.

I still see the Warriors outswaggering the Mavs. The Mavs pushed really hard, had a stellar performance from Stackhouse, were favored in calls, had two clutch too-little-too-late threes, and still lost! The only game they won was when B-Diddy was out in the fourth, and Warriors hardly had it together.

That's gotta hoit!

I don't think the Warriors are gonna back down, and can see them killing all hope on Tuesday night.

:hungry: for the look on Cuban's face. It could spell implosion....

:dizzy

Seriously, if the mavericks lose it at home.....Cuban may get arrested. I honestly believe he may punch a Warrior or Nelson or a referee or something. He's crazy enough to try something like that!

Congrats to the Warriors. I am devastated right now. God I need a break from basketball. The rest of the playoffs is not worth watching if the mavs go out. Once again congrats to the Warriors. They have our number.

3-1... series isn't over just yet... and the Mavs are more than capable of pulling a comeback like what Phoenix did last season against the lakers...

The difference is the Lakers were celebrating their 3-1 win, and acted like they got it in the bag under the leadership of Kobe. Even the LA reporters were saying after game 5 and game 6 were lost, the Lakers players were noticeably really loose and that Kobe when asked, just laughed at the suggested possibility of the Suns coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

They even brought it up again after game 7 was played on Saturday last year.

Both Baron Davis and Nellie and their squad aren't taking their playoff season for granted. And I think they' could very much take game 5 on the road.

Yeah down 3-to 1 to the Rockets.

Came home, won, went on the road, pulled one out, came home and blew out the Rockets by 30.

It only takes 1 win.

1 game at a time.

TPark, they were not down 3-1.

They simply were not.

Add this to the way that they choked away the Finals and this series is pretty much over.

Remember, this Warriors team has had a lot of success against the Mavericks over the last year or so.

What an unbelievable choke job last night... :bang

I guess we'll see if the Mavs have any balls, or if they go out with a whimper...

So, this is how the supposed MVP plays? 3 guys showed up in Mavs jerseys; Stackhouse (wtf?), Diop (for his 5 fouls) and Terry.

Dirk had a good stat line, but 2 3pters with less than a minute help that. He should be dropping 40 regularly on this small lineup of GS. Instead, he plays typically soft and settles for behind the arc and mid range jumpers. He is such a rare mixture of speed and talent for a 7fter, he could make this series a an absolute mismatch in the paint.

Anyway, Im sorry to the GS fans. This Mavs team has spun double-digit winning streaks during the season like no other. They are MORE than capable of winning 3 straight. Until Dallas loses the 4th game, Im still convinced they will take the series.

Nah I doubt it. The Mavs have showed me NOTHING for me to think that they can win this series. I mean and this is with GS playing stupid at that. And I wouldn't bank on them beating GS 3 straight when they have now lost the last 9 out of 10 times they played them. They are toast.

Dallas fans, at least you can look forward to one thing if your team loses to Golden State. The Detroit Pistons beating the shit out of the Spurs in the Finals. Don't worry, Piston's will embarrass the Spurs so badly it will make your teams choke job in the finals last year a distant memory.

LOL lost to Mike Brown and Cleveland. LOL made LeBron look like the clutchest motherfucker in the league.
