Tim Duncan and Another Spurs Franchise Record

Tonight, Tim Duncan played in his 123rd playoff game for the Spurs, tying David Robinson's franchise record for playoff appearances. He'll obviously break David Robinson's record in his next playoff game.

Interesting, to a stat geek like me, is the fact that when Tony Parker and Bruce Bowen play Game 1 of the 2007 WCSF, each will play in his 86th playoff game for the Spurs. That will surpass Sean Elliott's 85 playoff appearances and make Parker and Bowen tied for 3rd all-time in playoff games, behind only Duncan and Robinson.

And all of those numbers, of course, pale in comparison to Robert Horry's 216 playoff games played.

Maybe. But if we win the title this year I think he should retire. It just seems fit that he goes out a champ.

Second on that list isn't a bad place to be. I'm hoping that he starts to make Kareem sweat a bit over keeping that record, though. Would be lots of fun to see Horry get that total up over 230 this year.
