Don't play the ref card...
I can't watch the game, but this is what I see
Suns fan in 1st Q: Man, Suns are being pussies and can't hit anything within 10 feet... 26%??
Spurs fan response: That's awesome Spurs Defense!!!
Suns fan in 2Q: Nice, finally not playing scared
Spurs fan response: The refs are the problem!!!!
You guys are outplaying the spurs and making a statement right now to them that you can seriously contend with them in a 7 game series.

Missed shots lead to fast breaks, especially against a team like the Suns.
If the Spurs can make a few more shots - their D will pick up as well. It is a lot harder to run with the ball in the net.

Spurs just lost the energy for the 2nd Q, nothing to worry about. All they need is to stay right with the Suns until the 4th, then lock down and play Spurs 4th Q ball to close out a win. The officials have made a few bad calls on both ends, but it was the Spurs lack of energy that caused them the lead in the 2nd Q.

they need to go more, force the refs to call the foul, going once and take 4 jumpers is going to reduce the amount chances they have to get a call. AHF, the game isn't won in the 2nd quarter. You find time with these stop gap lineups in the 1st half, not the 2nd. Tim had to sit at some point and you're not going to play HOrry heavy minutes in the first.
You can't have a stud lineup the entire duration of the game.

Come on guys, Sounds like some of you are losing your composure and tossing in the towel. There's still plenty of ball to be played :). I was not happy with that lineup to start the second quarter though with TD sitting on the bench. Pop should have brought him out a lot earlier. That rest should benefit TD in the second half though so we'll see what happens. Spurs gotta come out fighting in the second half and TAKE this game. Forget about the refs. Let's GO SPURS!

Something about hindsight being 20-20... he tried a small lineup and didn't get production. Finley, Manu, TP, Elson... all missed easy shots and a few people got TOs. Big deal, not every move will work out. Now it's time to adjust and hope guys start making shots and playing smarter.

Suns have played well and did a better job in the 2nd at trying to force the tempo and get out on the break. I still think the Spurs have missed a ton of gimmes -- particularly in the 2nd (Elson's dunk?!??!) -- and that the Suns shot a high percentage in the 2nd to offset their early struggles. Add on a sub 50% effort at the line and 10 turnovers (many unforced) and you have the difference in the game.

Something about hindsight being 20-20... he tried a small lineup and didn't get production. Finley, Manu, TP, Elson... all missed easy shots and a few people got TOs. Big deal, not every move will work out. Now it's time to adjust and hope guys start making shots and playing smarter.
I think he left Duncan on the bench too long. This isn't the regular season anymore and there's no more back to back excuses. This is the playoffs now and there's no need to be treating Duncan like he's Shaq limiting his minutes.

Agreed. The Spurs relaxed a bit after the 6 pt quarter lead, and the Suns stepped it up a notch. Pop went to a small lineup and it didn't produce like he hoped it would. The Spurs are right in this game, and can take it if they play smarter on both ends.
Ginobili getting sucked in on the Nash baseline drive is exactly the type of mental errors that the Spurs have to fix to win the game.

No, you'd rather blame it on the refs, Oberto, small ball, Elson, Pop, Tony's head... etc. etc. etc.
But the Suns haven't played particularly well (they shot under 40% in the first half), and we have been PATHETIC. 10 TOs, mssing open Js, poor decisions, no intensity, etc.
I can't speak for others, but I blame our team for playing about the worst I've seen them, something like game 1 vs the nuggets. they have only themselves to blame.
And if your Suns were playing well, I'd say so.

Game is pretty much over...if Manu doesn't start showing up and ontributing and leaving it to Tony and Finley to carry this club from the perimeter you can stick a fork in us back in SA. I just on't understand why Manu has turned into a jumpshooter?

I'm going to walk the dog...I fully expect the Suns to be up 20+ when I get back...
