Ginobili for a second round pick would be a steal.
Spurs should trade Manu for these comments.

We lost not because of Ginobili, but for the team playing like ass, save for Duncan. and for Pop being an idiot for not recognizing he doesn't have to use that ONE OFFENSIVE OPTION for every damn play.

Pop did a terrible job this game. Ran same fucking play with Duncan in the game over and over again, never ran a give and go with Manu, never ran a pick and roll, did absolutely nothing to try and get him going. Small ball lineups were fucking stupid.

I can't believe how unimaginative we are on offense. We either throw it in to Tim with everyone standing by the 3 point line or we let Tony dribble for 20 seconds.

Agreed 100%. We played right into the Suns hands tonight. The critical point was the introduction of smallball when it appeared we had them on the ropes.
Extremely frustrating.

Why who played well tonight, it was Tim Duncan and everyone standing around watching him play. We are better than the Suns and we took the HC we will win game 3.

At this point, and I'll state that he's one of my favourite players ever, I'd entertain trading Manu. We save him up all year so that he can take over games like this, and what has he done? He's gone to the rack what, twice? They overguard him left, and he hasn't started to try to attack them with his right. Wtf?

I'm hoping this is just tiredness, otherwise we are deep in the shit.

What did we learn from this game? Well, we have to find out how to take Kurt Thomas off his game and make him be something more than just a defensive stopper for Phoenix. We HAVE, absolutely have to have, Manu step up and start to create and cause problems for Phoenix. This is the second game where he has DISAPPEARED against a team that he should flourish against (given history and propensity toward transition opportunities). Manu cannot find his shot, get in a rhythm, or take it to the rim and the result is that TP has to create everything, which he is too tired to do at this point. Oberto - or whoever plays the 5 for us these days - has to make better decisions away from the ball.

Overall, I give us a D-

Why can't Barry make a fucking basket!!! We need to trade his expiring contract for a draft pick next summer. The guy is toast.

Your homerism doesn't allow you to think straight. I've thought he should be traded since before the trade deadline. We got side swiped by Pop's four down security blanket tonight. Just hope it doesn't cost us the series like it usually does.

People call out Manu for sucking. Well what the fuck do they expect when his role in the offense is to pass it to Duncan and stand on the fucking wing?

Fuck four down and fuck our jackass coach if he doesn't wake up.

Yes there was too much 2nd half four down, but that's not why we lost. Pop went to that when it was clear that every other play was going to break down and no-one else could score.

We lost because we showed no hustle or basketball IQ. We didn't want it tonight.

I'm trying to remember how remarkably different Manu's play was in 2005. Didn't Pop go through the offense with him handling the ball the majority of the time coupled with Parker? setting up his teammates rather than having him sit on the wing, passing it to fucking Vaughn for an open jumper?

WTF is wrong with you people? Seriously.

And there is no way Nash let's us sweep the Suns. He is a warrior, and he can win at least one game on his own.

I still maintain that this series goes at least 6 games.

I certainly didn't think we'd sweep the Suns. That's silly. BUT...this performace was downright terrible...abysmal.
I truly hope that they look at this game as such an embarrassment that they come out with guns blazing in the next game.

Spurs got the split, but certainly did everything they could to pump up Suns' momentum going back to SA.

An embarrassing non-performance. Spurs never really played seriously. Couldn't score, couldn't get stops. Just fucking pathetic.

3 bad games in a row for Manu...we saved his by moving him to the bench and now he doesn't have the legs, drive, energy, determination (or whatever you want to call it) to contribute. Yeah, yeah, yeah intangibles. Fuck intangibles. We need Manu to put some points on the board. Period.

I think the Suns will come with a different game plan tonight. They will attack Duncan. Last game wasn't "Suns pace" as everyone claims... they will run and run and run tonight. Suns by 20.

Final score: Suns 101 - Spurs 81

The spurs lost to denver once and now they lost to the suns. The suns in my opinion are a better team than denver so to lose to them isn't so bad. They're a great team as are the spurs.. the spurs were able to get game 1 without nash at the end and the suns were able to get game 2 when the spurs were having an off night. Its the playoffs and all that matters is the victory.. no excuses you either win or lose.

The "next game" in a series is always important...but not always a must-win. But every game in a series, there will always be at least one person who labels it a "must win."

The term is so watered down now that I don't even know what people mean when they say it anymore. It lost its motivating factor a long time ago. It barely even conveys a sense of urgency.

How many times did we hear the nuggets call a game a "must-win"??? And after they lost that "must-win," they were still able to live another day...live to call the next game after that a must-win...

I really think Manu needs to start again. He needs to be on the court with Tim and Tony which should loosen things up for him a little, but Manu also needs to attack way more and stop jacking up threes all the time. This game looked like game from 2000-2002 against the Lakers which was NO ONE helping out TD. Great game from TD, but like other poster said above I'd give Tim an A everyone else gets an F. Gotta hit shots and make plays. No stupid turnovers. PATHETIC performance.

Well no, you were lucky.

They didn't run and run.

They didn't do anything to Duncan.

But they did catch the Spurs on a night when they gave up, and managed to play decent ball themselves without being the Suns we all know and love. If your team had played really well, I'd say it, but this was more a case of the Spurs giving up. They looked tired and beaten up. I bet they'll be glad to get home.

Eh, Manu's ghost/Dirk Manu right now.

I don't think he' jacking up threes. He's only been shooting two or three when he's open in the last three games.

But we lose when Manu can't score. I think getting him in the game early will do him justice.

Too many turnovers, poor shooting and not enough ball distribution lead to this loss. Suns had 11 more assists than the Spurs and all the dribbling lead to a rushed offense facing the shot clock, that will make any defense look good. Long time until game 3 on Saturday and I'm pretty sure Pop will kick they ass into gear and possible give Manu his starting position back which looks like it might be needed. All in all we got one in Phoenix so now its time to hold up home court.

Side note I don't think Kerr needs to commentate anymore when the team he partially owns is playing. Almost every call against PHX to Kerr was questionable at best.

I like Kerr and all but tonight he was extra annoying from the get go. Granted the Spurs didn't give him much to talk about on their end but the early foul calls against the Suns seemed to all be questionable in his eyes and he let it be known for a good 2 minute span after it would happen. I thought D'antoni had taken over the mic.
