Melbourne GTG?

Hey Aussie Spurs fans, I'm going to be in Melbourne, maybe for game 1 and definitely for game 2 )and maybe game 3), so would any of you like to watch it together?

I'm guessing it would be on at the Crown sportsbook, although if any of you cab suggest a better place (a sportsbar with ESPN, someone who has ESPN on Foxtel?) I'm open to all suggestions.

Can anyone tell me what time finals games will be on? Is it 3pm ET or will they be night games? 3pm ET translates to 5am here, 8pm ET to 10am here.

Would be nice to meet some of you guys as many of us Aussies have been on SR and then Spurstalk for, what, 7 years now, and I've never met any of you!? It's about time. :)

Problem for me is the gametime always falls middle of the day and there all on weekdays which means I'm working :/

theres a place in the city that shows it.....it use to be a tab pokies joint, still is but it rename itself...they show games, but you cant go celebrate and make a fuss inside = lame

The games are usually in the middle of the day. I work in the city and I plan to take mini sick leaves to watch the game at Crown. I'll be more than happy to catch up with you on Wednesday to watch the game 3. I think there are a few sports pubs down here that will televising the game... otherwise... not much else available... No FoxTel here.. but you can watch using internet sopcast... the telecast is a bit dodgy.

you cant reserve seats in that area....first come first serve, you can always go 2nd lvl where theres more chaires, but expect alot of old farts and losers sobering next to you.....or you can always try the sports bar on the second lvl next to village cinemas...expensive though for food and shit...

oh yeh forgot to tell you guys...if you are crown member :D, teh food are cheap on 2nd lvl in the gaming area in front of the big screens, chicken and chips 2-3bucks only during weekdays...weekends more expensive....

Are you from Perth? I was there in 95 while serving in the Navy and had a great time. We docked in Fremantle and took a train to Perth. Later during the deployment we swung around to Sydney. One of the things that really stuck with me was going to Hungry Jacks. It was a replica of Burger King just had the different name. Anyway just wanted to know if you were from there.

Okay, have a bit more time to post now.

I finished off my undergrad degree last year in Health Promotion @ Deakin and have been job searching since. It's a pretty limited field in which only 5% of the Federal Health budget addresses health promotion. All in all, I'd been for about 5 interviews and felt my confidence rise with each one. One day I got a call back from an organisation I applied for but was knocked back - however, they'd called me as they had another position which they felt more suitable for my qualifications - went in for an interview and bang, I got it. So my start date is smack-bang in the middle of the Finals. Hard to do anything about that I guess. The Spurs are my passion but prioritizing the job is crucial I guess.

Also, I'm doing a Graduate Certificate through external study in which the exam is also smack bang in the middle of the Finals. Doesn't help!

With a few other things on my plate, my posting has been somewhat limited but don't worry, I'm still reading. This doesn't give me many options regarding a GTG but I'll be watching the replays if I have to.

Okay, firstly, apologies from me because I WON'T be able to make the game on Monday (family commitments! ugh), but I suggest that you go to Crown 1/2 hour early and get a seat UPSTAIRS. You might miss the commentary, but the screen is great.

If you want to go to a TAB joint, Lone Ranger or Black Opal both show the games - looked on Google maps but they aren't there, so ask Melbournites for directions.

I am up for Wednesday's game at anywhere you guys choose. You'll have to decide on the Monday venue, so one of you should take the lead.
