Hey Aussie Spurs fans, I'm going to be in Melbourne, maybe for game 1 and definitely for game 2 )and maybe game 3), so would any of you like to watch it together?
I'm guessing it would be on at the Crown sportsbook, although if any of you cab suggest a better place (a sportsbar with ESPN, someone who has ESPN on Foxtel?) I'm open to all suggestions.
Can anyone tell me what time finals games will be on? Is it 3pm ET or will they be night games? 3pm ET translates to 5am here, 8pm ET to 10am here.
Would be nice to meet some of you guys as many of us Aussies have been on SR and then Spurstalk for, what, 7 years now, and I've never met any of you!? It's about time.

Hey I'm in Melbourne.. well out in the eastern suburbs anyway and great idea as well.
Problem for me is the gametime always falls middle of the day and there all on weekdays which means I'm working :/
Find away around that though and I'm there!

im in melbourne just a 30min walk to the crown complex,
but to tell you the truth i got exams for these two weeks so i cant join yah....
theres a place in the city that shows it.....it use to be a tab pokies joint, still is but it rename itself...they show games, but you cant go celebrate and make a fuss inside = lame
you can try kickz101 store in the city, i dunno if they show games or not....
3 places i know that shows it in the city
telstra main office building on the corner of lonsdale st and exhibition st i think towards spring st, you cant miss it, its the building with 2 statues outside next to a bus stop....and its in the lobby area with alot of ppl comin in and out, and it be weird just to make yourself at home watchin there....
the lone ranger i think is a TAB pokies joint, on bourke street before russell street, shows live games...24hr joint.
theres another TAB joint on the corner of swanston street and bourke street across the road from starbucks...upstairs they show live games also....(but i dunno)
then there is crown...but crown is a biatch though, volume not loud enough.
Best place is try the TAB joints in the city....seems like most have plasmas and show games...

The TAB joints sound cool.. and that areas are easily accessible.. who will be there?3 places i know that shows it in the city

Alamo - I was going to but I'm still finishing off my uni work for the semester, it was going to cost a lot, and as an ecologist i find it hard to justify two long plane trips in a year. Believe me, I REALLY REALLY WANT to go, but...

Okay, so I'm going to stay home and watch game 1 here and then drive to Melbourne afterwards. The games I'll be in Melb for will be on at:
gm 2 - 11am Monday
gm 3 - 11am Wednesday
I'll check out some prospective places to watch them and post back here on the weekend. Note that Monday is the Queen's Birthday, so we should have a GTG for that one. Are there any sportsbars where we could get a booth with our own TV? I'd rather do that than sit in a dodgy pokie joint with a bunch of old alkies, if it can be avoided.
I take it no-one around here has Foxtel?

G'day gents. I'm in the middle of starting a new job so I can't really take days off just yet but I do have Fridays off so I might be a go for Game 4 if we get anything going for that.
I have an exam the day after the Queens Birthday too so that puts me under pressure there.

The games are usually in the middle of the day. I work in the city and I plan to take mini sick leaves to watch the game at Crown. I'll be more than happy to catch up with you on Wednesday to watch the game 3. I think there are a few sports pubs down here that will televising the game... otherwise... not much else available... I've got foxtel but I live in the eastern suburbs...
Bummer mattyc. I finish all my assessment this week, so it's ideal timing for me. Work hard until Sunday and post again if you change your mind.
I will scout locations on Saturday and post again about this on Sunday arvo our time. If everything goes to and I can't find anywhere better, look for the 6'7" guy in the Spurs gear in the Crown sportsbook.
Marcus, the Queen is irrelevant really, but at least we get a day off because of her!
