It's a remake of The Omega Man..which is a remake of the Last Man on Earth.

The concept is an awesome one, which is probably why all the movies based on this story have been good ones...but it's going to be tough to top the pure classic seventiesism of the OmegaMan.

All three are adaptations of a '50s era book, not "remakes".

And yes, the book was better. Even though it sucked.

WTF? I don't get what its about? I mean I know the point of the movie is to surprise you with the reason why he is alone... but... it seems like it would be a very boring movie...

That's what I've heard, but admittedly you've gone over my head now :lol
Of that list, the only movie I've seen is Total Recall, but I've never read the story. Wasn't it called We Can Remember it for You Wholesale, or some such?

yeah. they butchered paycheck as well, minority report, next. the only one i thought was a pretty good adaptation was a scanner darkly. once you get used to the rotoscope. blade runner is alright too.

Blade Runner is one of the best sci-fi movies of all time, at least in the Top Ten.

Apparently they are not vampires they are mutants they grow talons, are super fast and strong, can leap buildings in a single bound and their bodies transform shape. and rumor has it that there will be a scene with Will Smith running away from a HUGE amount of mutants down times square

Check out the story its pretty good and will answer all your questions. Its short to at only 160 pages. I read it years ago and Omega Man didn't come close to it. Though I'm looking forward to this adaptation I'm just hoping they dont jack it up.
