I've never seen or cared about anything Cameron Diaz did outside of acting, so I don't know why her handbag is being brought up in the political forum like it is important.
Now do you need anything else that's easy for everyone else to understand explained to you?

Why are you so obsessed with celebrities?I see this thread as clear examples of the lefts ignorance and hypocracy.
Diaz's bag has what appears to be sporting the Chinese star, when Peru had atrocities committed by
Mao Zedong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mao_Zedong), and the pattern on her bag is among his favorite symbols. Did anyone read the link? On sentence from it:
The Maoist Shining Path insurgency took Peru to the edge of chaos in the 1980s and early 1990s with a campaign of massacres, assassinations and bombings.
Isn't she an advocate of many PC things, including not hurting people feelings? Many of us conservatives see subtle tied between liberals and communists, but this is rather blatant!
One point is that liberals do not thing about their actions.
Bush flies all over the world to accomplish nothing. What about that waste? And just what does that have to do with anything? President Bush is not advocating the stringent restrictions on fossil fuels, therefore, no hypocrisy. Besides, ever read about his energy efficient house and means of producing power? He practices energy efficiency when practical.
Reid however is an advocate of restricting the usage of fossil fuels, therefore, he should anytime possible himself!
We really should have a separate thread for the "Hush Rush" bill. I don't want to get into that here. I wish to try not to deviate too mush from a threads intent.

Is she? Again, I simply don't give a shit about the politics of celebrities and I don't understand why others do.
You're absolutely right. I don't understand why others do either, but that's the problem, others do.
You have to admit, America in general is full of very stupid people that pay far more attention to how drunk Lindsey Lohan was, or who Jessica Simpson is dating, then they do politics (just take a look at the club forum).
These same stupid people also vote (sometimes), and they believe everything that comes out of a celebrities mouth, including their politics. Since most of hollywood is liberal, they are influencing votes when quite frankly, they most likely aren't any smarter then the housewife next door that watches Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and the E channel all day long.
It frustrates conservatives to no end because we, like you, acknowledge how fucking irritating these celebrities can be and don't believe they should have a forum when to be honest, Chumpdumper, Yonivore, Clambake, Wild Cobra, and many other "regular" people are by far and away more intelligent then these people and yet they get a soapbox.
So every once in a while when a conservative gets a little annoyed by the blatant hypocrisy of a stupid person that actually influences the opinions of thousands of 18 year old voters out there, just let it slide for us would ya?

Diaz Apologizes for Maoist Bag
AP
Posted: 2007-06-25 09:02:01
LIMA, Peru (June 25) -- Cameron Diaz apologized Sunday for carrying a bag with a political slogan that evoked painful memories in Peru.
The voice of Princess Fiona in the animated "Shrek" films visited the Incan city of Machu Picchu in Peru's Andes on Friday carrying an olive green bag emblazoned with a red star and the words "Serve the People" printed in Chinese, perhaps Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong's most famous political slogan.
Cameron's Fashion Faux Pas
The bags are marketed as fashion accessories in some world capitals, but in Peru the slogan evokes memories of the Maoist Shining Path insurgency that fought the government in the 1980s and early 1990s in a bloody conflict that left nearly 70,000 people dead.
"I sincerely apologize to anyone I may have inadvertently offended. The bag was a purchase I made as a tourist in China and I did not realize the potentially hurtful nature of the slogan printed on it," Diaz said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press.
On Friday, one prominent Peruvian human rights activist said Diaz should have been a little more aware of local sensitivities when picking her accessories.
In Sunday's statement, the star of "There's Something About Mary" said the purpose of her visit was to participate in a television show that celebrates Peru's culture. The actress has been in Peru as part of "4 REAL," a Canadian TV production that focuses on young community leaders around the world.
"I'm sorry for any people's pain and suffering and it was certainly never my intention to reopen what I now know is a painful wound in this country's history," she said.
Diaz also spoke of Peruvians' beauty and warmth and said she wished "for their continued healing."

I didn't see it as an attack story just against Diaz. It was a story to point out bad moves in the public eye.
I have to really wonder why anyone could either be ignorant enough to sport such a bag, or if she is just a communist lover.
I figure ignorance must be the answer, and stupidity added because most people who are concerned about others check the customs and history of the people before traveling there as just not to offend someone.
She is a known Bush hater. She hasn’t been quoted much in politics, but did take a 2004 role for getting out the vote. I think she misspoke, tripping over her words. I don’t think she really implied that if people didn’t vote, that rape would be legalized.
I really get more of a kick out of Reid being too lazy to walk such a short distance. A short walk is not any more of a threat if someone who knew how to handle a weapon wanted him dead.
Get off your lazy ass Harry!
The Hillary deal, I absolutely believe it. She is a “Chavez in Drag”, and he’s pulling the plug on dissenting media. Chavez also nationalized the oil. Hitlery wants to take those profits, remember?

First of all, I wasn't bullied. I paid for my gas and left.
Second, I wasn't scarred for life, I merely used the instance to illustrate a phenomenon that, seems to be prevalent in black communities -- an irrational racism towards all white people, without regard to that person's own feelings on race issues. That guy didn't know me for Adam and, yet, he verbally attacked me simply because I was white.
Had the roles been reversed and the same had happened to a black person, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et. al. would have been on it pronto, condemning the gas station owner and boycotting them because they permitted a culture of intolerance and hatred to persist on their premises. There would have been pickets and the Black Panthers would have been threatening violence unless there was some kind of justice -- probably involving the offending person or gas stations owner to be ruined for life.
Finally, you've got to pick the hills you want to die on. Confronting that person at that gas station would have probably earned me, at the very least, a stay in the hospital. He wasn't the only person there but, I was the only white person there and everyone else seemed unconcerned about his treatment of me or my discomfort.
I made a decision and imagined they would become very interested if I had responded -- particularly in a confrontational manner.
Oh, Gee!!

You don't strike me as a guy that would pull up in a car where a dozen or so blacks are congregating. But if that is the case, then this single instant has led you to stereotype an entire race.
First of all, it was convenient and right on the highway. Second, it was the first time I'd ever been to Los Angeles and had no idea of the history or racial make-up of the neighborhood where I stopped for gas. Third, it wasn't until I had pumped the gas and was approaching the store that I was confronted and even noticed any of the others that were present.
I don't usually pick my gas stations based on the race of their customers or employees. Race didn't even factor in until I began to realize I must have committed some offense to garner the man's attention. And, even then, it wasn't until I relayed the incident to a friend, who lives in L.A., that I found out where I had been. Up until then I just thought he was a racist like you think I am. But then, I understood why the man was so hostile to a perfect stranger and why I wasn't getting any cordial smiles from anyone else at the station.
And, it wasn't this incident that began the thread, I brought it up to illustrate the point. There have been several events talked about in this thread that all point to what I see as a unique mob mentality in the black community.
