but for the record, i'm picking Indy to win. it will be down to the wire either way. and this game is just a warmup for the AFC Championship Game anyways.

i've said all along that Indy is #1 until somebody else proves it. The Patriots have a great shot at it this week but until they do it, I don't see how you don't pick Indy.

And if the Colts do win, I lose no matter what. I'll be sporting some gay avatar/sig with Peyton's retarded looking face, or whoever.

Being a pats fan myself i had great understanding in you putting the colts #1. But to pick them to beat us shows that you have little confidence in your team and wants to back yourself up in case we lose.

how is that? being a pats fan you know that this game is borderline meaningless because we're going to be meeting up again in the AFC Championship Game. This game might decide which field that game gets played on, but even then either team could win it.

The Colts are the only team I have this type of respect for. Maybe I'm giving them too much respect, but like I said, until somebody proves otherwise, it's tough to pick against them.

I never thought I'd have to explain to a pats fan how this years' NEW ENGLAND had an edge against the colts.

Indianapolis might be the only team they play this season that will actually score touchdowns when they have the ball. Any Patriots fan going into this week hoping to see another Bad Karma Bowl is deluding themselves. This will be a very close game.

The reason the Pats look head over heels better than the Colts is because the Colts are not blatantly trying to score 5 or more TDs a game. Say the Colts won a game 3-0 and Manning had three picks, the running game got shut down, and his receivers dropped some long passes. But the defense still did their job. A win is a win. To the Pats right now, a win is not a win unless it's a win by over 20 points. Belichick has always been a great coach when it comes to clock management and preserving a lead. He has abandoned what used to make him great and rather than preserving a lead, he wants to increase that lead to a titanic height.

Today the Redskins didn't score until the fucking end of the game. Fucking punt the ball if you're on 4th down. The Skins weren't doing shit, the Pats would get the ball back anyway. It's stupid to play starters an entire game. Why risk injuring Moss or Brady or anyone for that matter when you're playing Indy the next week? Some of the most classless and stupid coaching I've ever seen.

Then, perhaps, you'll explain it to the Colts fans?

I bet it has something to do with how the offseason pickup of Adalius Thomas is the holy grail of getting Peyton Manning off the field. Both teams are on very equal footing, the Pats just look better because their coach is a cunt and is playing NFL games like he's playing Madden 08.

why would I waste my time to convince you that the pats are better when the game is yet to be played. I don't have a problem with a colts fan rooting for them.
I don't like the nonsense talk of my team is better than yours when in fact we just have to wait this sunday to know it.(nothing of what I might say would make me feel better, make my team win or make you root for the pats.) Arguing over this might be clueless.
However, I was shocked I had to tell a pats fan to pick his own team.

If I were a defensive back of any team not named the Indianapolis Colts and had to face the Patriots this season, I would seriously start getting overly physical on their receivers even at the cost of penalties. If Belichick is going to play with a blatant disregard for good sportsmanship than opposing coaches should return the favor. I'm not wishing injuries on the Patriots but I would like to see Tom Brady get sacked and stay down for a while. If Belichick continues to play games like he's playing Madden, then his WRs, RBs, and QB deserve to get hit sticked like in Madden.

I think for the first five weeks opposing teams approached playing the Pats like a normal game. For a while they appeared to just be dominating and scoring a lot because they are a good team. Then in the Cowboys game they just started to throw sportsmanship out the window. I know "no lead is safe" in the NFL and the Pats certainly know that since the Colts beat them from an 18 point deficit last year. But a 38-0 lead in the third fucking quarter. You can take that lead to the bank with so many Skins defensive players hurt in that game.

Opposing coaches need to return the favor. I just hope that Dungy does not approach this game with his typical "do what we do" approach. Belichick will be especially cunt-like in this game because we blocked the Pats from a guaranteed Super Bowl last year. Not only will he continue his "fuck you" streak to the NFL, this is a grudge match. Both of these teams are not the same teams that played in January. They're both a lot better. This is going to be a long week.

having a gameplan like that (unecessary roughness penalties) might confuse your players and let them forget what their main goal is... winning the game.
Regarding the hard hits, it was the skins gameplan, which they executed (If you noticed there were some vicious hits).
I remember Welker saying that what he liked most about Tom Brady, was that he rarely puts his receivers in bad situations.

How many teams remaining on the Patriots' schedule other than the Colts even have a shot at winning a game? If Belichick is going to gameplan to blow out teams and run up the score, opposing defensive coordinators should be making sure his players pay for it.

Although the players have emotions they can't plan on being dirty. They surely can be physical (which is what the skins did) but it means you have the personnel to be physical, which isn't the case for many teams we have on the remainder of the season (except the steelers and Giants who by the way will be more focused on winning rather than inflicting injuries)

On a side note, how can you plan on hitting players you can't catch when you're out of position or because of their talent.
I think it's easier said than done.

So you're saying you don't think there are any sore losers out there who wouldn't keep going and knock Brady on his ass, even at the cost of a roughing the passer penalty, because he's being an arrogant piece of shit is still under center in the 4th quarter with a 5TD lead?

It's interesting to see that you call those players sore losers when you are calling for it.

I've seen bad things in the NFL, but I refuse to believe that there is a professional player who might be oversensitive and injure his fellow because of the score.
This isn't high school when you have kids who can't take it when someone is better (or can't understand it) so you have to prevent that.

Also, please show me where I've campaigned for Pats players to get injured. I said opposing DBs should start getting rough with them just so the Pats players know full well that they're going to make them feel every yard they earn. I said get rough and commit some penalties, not break Brady's leg. It's classless and low to openly campaign for professional athletes to be injured during a game. I definitely wouldn't wish that on Colts players. But if the Patriots are going to play NFL games with no class and keep the Brady Bunch on the field in the 4th quarter with an insurmountable lead, then they're almost asking for the other team to hurt their players.

I said Belichick is practically asking for his players to get hurt by playing them long after he has to. I am not campaigning for NFL players to injure each other, but something along the lines of how the Pats started playing dirty when they knew they were going to lose to the Broncos in the 2005 playoffs would be nice to see from Pats opponents in Week 10-17.

I'm not a homer and I'm not going to just blindly pick my team to win every week regardless. If you want to be a homer that's your own business, but don't go throwing out your queer-ass homer sensibilities on me. I've rooted for the Patriots for 6 years now and, I'm sorry for the shock this may bring to you, I haven't picked them to be 16-0 every season.

Don't fucking talk to me about credibility lurker. You don't feel the need to talk shit and defend your team but you do feel the need to talk shit to me despite not having any idea what the fuck is going on.

For the sake of credibility you give your honest opinion of the game instead of waving your pom-poms like a blind homer cockbag.

The only thing I'll say about the Patriots running up the score is that this isn't Pop Warner football at the YMCA. The Redskins and other opponents get paid lots of money, they can deal with any hurt feelings. The best method to prevent it is to stop them when they go for it on 4th down or attempt deep sideline routs to Randy Moss when up 38-0.

As for the Patriots and their fans saying that Belichick and everybody associated with New England don't care what people are saying about them or their methods, I'd say running up the score week after week says otherwise. Kicking an opponent when they're down and after you've made it abundantly clear you're the better team makes you look small and petty. Outside of sportswriters and a few players here and there, such as Hines Ward, nobody is suggesting the Patriots didn't earn their Super Bowl wins or that taping signals made any appreciable difference. Still, not much you can do about it.

If J.T. doesn't want to put anything Pats-related in his sig/avatar he doesn't have to.

This game was tainted by the lopsided refs making every call in Indy's favor. This doesn't count as a real NFL game. If the refs didn't give the Colts every call, the Pats would have won by 3 TD's or more.

J.T., if you wants to postpone the sig bet until the AFC Championship Game, I'm up for that. If you want to do something now that's fine, but like I said the refs were so horrible that I feel this game was tainted.

as an unbiased bronco fan i agree with you on the refs, i was having flash backs from the colts/steelers game from a few years ago. 10 penalties for 146 yards is crazy! Good win for the Pats regardless.

No, I made the bet with you fully aware that I had as good a chance as you did at winning. So I'm going to follow through with the loser's requirements and put whatever you image or banner you decide on in my sig for a week.

But I'm game for a grudge match bet in January.

Wow I never knew JT got this butthurt.
