As the New England Patriots pour it on opponents, fans have to be wondering about it and Tuesday former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher said it: If the Patriots keep running up the score, will someone like Tom Brady be the victim of a retaliatory hit?

The subject of the Pats' late-game tactics is causing a lot of buzz around the NFL, particularly after Sunday's 52-7 victory over the Washington Redskins. On a CBS conference call with reporters Tuesday. Cowher noted the Patriots could be playing a dangerous game.

"At some point if this continues, someone's going to take a cheap shot,'' Cowher said. "Is that worth subjecting your players to if it comes to that?''



A very real possiblity. I am not saying its right nor do I condone it but if a some player feels their team is getting run up on...it could happen.

Actually I heard on the radio earliar in the week that Brady gets pissed when he gets taken out. He wants to be on that field. Im guessing he has Moss now and wants records. I do agree with you about Brady going down. I would never wish or hope for a player to get injured but just like I don't feel sorry for teams getting scored on, I would not feel sorry for the Pats if someone went down. It works both ways.

Actually, Brady is lucky that Joe Gibbs is a class act. Gibbs could have greenlighted Taylor and Landry on a blitz and really put a hurtin' on Brady, and not cared about giving up another TD when the game was already lost...but Gibbs isn't that kind of coach. He even said he had no problem with the Pats running up the score. Of course, there are other coaches in the NFL that may not take the same view. Belichick better be really careful down the stretch with his golden boy.
