Dallas is mentally scared of Golden State and it's not even funny. Nice win, but very disappointed. I would like to say that this was a win that will help their psyche. We let Keleena Azabuke(sp) score fuckin 27 points. There's something wrong with that. And when will the Mavs figure out to guard the perimeter. Up 108-103, we then give up a wide open 3 to Harrington. Then we let Baron be wide open on the last shot of the game. Luckily, he missed. Terrible.

I doubt Milwaukee will either, but they do seem to play tough against the Spurs. So you're saying San Antonio is crap too?
I think the difference between mismatches is I doubt San Antonio would shrivel up against a mismatch in a playoff series.
Dallas deserves to be laughed at because they're so mentally weak and exposed against GS.

Did you see how theDallas bench's demeanor changed so quickly when they were ahead and then when they were behind?

Then when they got in the clear at the very end and the win, they were smiling as if that win was something to be happy about.
They are lame.

It's a 3-hour flight from LA to Dallas right? We need Kobe on one of those ASAP or this team is fucked.

I can't believe I'm so pissed off about a win but this was crap. Dallas should have been running up the score and embarrassing the shit out of those guys.

Ok I understand.

Dallas players need to grow some balls, and like Jeff says "beat a team they are supposed to beat".

You guys need to just lay one of those guys out when they go for the dunk over 2 of your players.

Baron Davis turns into Superman when he plays you guys. Most exciting player to watch imo.

When Davis fouled, sorry stole the ball from Harris and Dirk fouled him, that was a PERFECT time for Dirk to take that bitch to the ground hard. And he didn't do it. That pissed me off as much as anything.

Wow GS is inside Dirk's head...though he wasnt AS pathetic as usual against him...looked like a scrub the first half tho.

Not a win to be happy about if your the mavs, but at least its a win. GS has always been absolutely putrid on the FT line...fucking waste.

Josh Howard is the only one who plays fearless against them. I don't think he should have been fouled out.

I thought Devin Harris played a great game too. And it was nice to see Jason Terry show up against GS for once.

You Mav fans need to chill the hell out. It is only the fifth game in the season and they are just working the kinks out, plus the Warriors are at home and probably have been waiting on this game. Now if the Mavericks are letting the Warriors do this to them in March and April, then you have need to worry. People are still getting used to their roles right now.

JHo is the only one who is athletic and rough enough to play consistently well against them.

Unless Dirk grows balls against the Warriors, theres no way I see them beating them in the playoffs. Then again, I don't see the Warriors making the playoffs this year either. Teams should wear a Baron Davis mask against the mavs cuz that guy is a bonafide Mavs Killer.

That Azubukie guy (with the huge nostrils) was damn good tonight..never noticed him before, very athletic. Too bad he also suffers from the GS-can't-make-any-FTs, they were a fucking pathetic 53% from the FT line.
Ellis was subpar, I think he's overrated.

Brandon Bass was a MONSTER off the bench. Unsung hero for the Mavs tonight.

Yep those are the type of players that give Golden State problems. Unfortunately that's the most low post that Dallas has.

^I'm impressed by Bass, he seems solid so far especially if he continues to improve. His shooting seems good too (from the little that I've seen). Bass>Diop>>Erica the 2nd best center.

Yup. Too bad he's too undersized to actually play center fulltime alongside Dirk.

Wonder why Juwan Howard got a DNP-CD? Considering the lack of depth caused by Dampier's injury, I'd have been willing to bet he'd get good minutes in this game.

The Warriors still own the Mavs. That's the conclusion I get after watching the game.

Add SJax and Pietrus, not to mention some free throw makes, and the Warriors easily win that game. I thought last year was a fluke but Dirk plays petrified against the Warriors and the Warriors just know how to play against everyone else. If the two teams again matchup in the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same result again this year.

:rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes I know you are praying not to play the Mavs in the playoffs. Bradon Bass is going to be another pain in the ass for the Spurs. Kept acting tough because deep down inside, you know what the Mavs are capable of when it comes to matching up with the Spurs.

Of course I root against the Spurs and don't like them, but I have the greatest amount of respect for that organization and what they've accomplished. Why the obsession with a franchise that is so far behind on the historical scoreboard?

The Warriors just didn't have enough weapons, even with the usual ridiculous joojoo they have when the play the Mavs...

Which Baron Davis flop was better...

Last night when he took a dive and got the 4th foul on Howard...

or when Jet "body slammed" him last season? :lol

This is the best flop job I've ever seen. Devin Harris and Manu Ginobili are impressed:

haha yeah i'm never satisfied, even with a win. but honestly, with jackson out, they should have pounded this team into the ground, and instead they let them hang around all game and barely escaped with a victory. i'm about as pissed off as i can be about a dallas victory.
I'm not worried. Even in their absence, Azubuke got more minutes, and made up for exactly what those two guys would have done. If they played, Azubuke would not have had the monster game he had. At the same time, Dallas didn't have George, Jones, and Howard just came off injury. As many excuses that can be made for the warriors, the Mavs can make some too. The fact is, both teams were not 100%, but the Mavs took care of business. I wish they had played better, but I'm not worried about it one bit.

also, from what I saw, to me it seemed like the Mavs didn't play their best game. They missed a LOT of shots that they would normally make. Golden State still was hitting everything, plus their usual bizzare bullshit shots that they seem to only hit against Dallas. If Dallas hit a few more of the shots they hit 9 times out of 10, they would destroy them.

he pulled a Dampier last night and was just completely ineffective in every way.

also, they played most of the game with Harrington camped out at the 3-line which of course renders Diop useless if he has to guard a guy way out there.

thats why IMO, we should play Diop, Dirk, and Bass all at the same time. We need to slow that fucking game down, like the Spurs do, and now we have the players to do so. Not as well as the Spurs, but enough to work against teams like GS.

Boy, I'm loving Bass... I called it from the get go, that he was going to be a very nice pickup, and I see him only getting better. He is very versatile, athletic, and has talent, and I always wondered why the hell Byron Scott never played him. He's still learning, as shown by that attempt at a putback with 8 seconds left, but at the same time, he plays his ass off every minute of the game, and I love that about him.

Another thing I noticed, is that the Mavs have worked on a better type of rotations when teams swing the ball on the perimeter. I noticed it several times last night, and I'm sure it will only get better as the season goes on.

And it's only going to get better. I know there's some disappointment this morning, but we won a game at GS's pace, were we supposed to blow them out? I think Charles and Kenny are right that this is nothing to celebrate, but I think you can take something from this game as opposed to nothing. We didn't play particularly well and GS played their best game of the season so far.

Scott just doesn't trust young players, and they had Tyson Chandler and David West ahead of him.

Not really a knock against him, but Devin Harris has to have the quickest flops in the history of the NBA. He'd get tapped and dive 4 feet and hit the ground within .04 seconds.

LOL, thats true. I've never seen a guy that can fall so fast. As soon as he gets hit, he's laying on his back. It's like he throws himself down or something, but he does it faster than I've ever seen before.

Dude, Howard's nose is nowhere near the size of SJax's

Jackson's nostrils have their own freaking gravitational pull
