The other factor is that it's considered unsportsmanlike to continue to play your starters in a blowout win. Running up the score is not cool.
yeh i understand that.... i realise it... of course the starters should come out during a blow out... i never said they shouldnt.

I just think that Pop taking them out due to risk of injury doesnt have much bearing at all... (this sentence sounds incorrect)

I can understand what your saying... ok they dont need to be in the game... so if they get injured people will say they shouldnt have been in the game...

But think about it... if you get injured you get injured, its unfortunate... if you get injured in garbage time... tough, bad luck... when your in the game your not thinking about that.. you play the game the same way (well you should).

I see what your saying about necessity, but i still dont think that has much bearing at all on why Pop takes them out.

Who still has the old boxscore when Bowen out scored Kobe.

Add this one

B. Bowen 37 7-11 6-6 3-4 1 3 1 1 1 0 2 23
K. Bryant 38 9-19 0-5 0-0 0 9 5 3 2 3 1 18

They've played against each other almost minute for minute

Yeah I think its happened a three or so times now, I used to have one box score as my sig...

I think Bowen really like's playing Kobe, plus Kobe gambles way to much of Bruce to help D.

wow
I could have sworn early it was all because of manu by some posters

:lol The 'Manu vs Tony' argument is the most ridiculous thing on Spurstalk.

Agreed.

I wish people would STFU about it and appreciate that THEY ARE BOTH AWESOME! Who cares who is "better" when the compliment each other so beautifully??? :rolleyes

So you think i just come on here and post the opposite of what i think?

If Tim Duncan was in the game tonight at the end of the 4th, and he does his ankle... god forbid.... i say tough, bad luck... yeh i curse and swear and throw a few things cause hes my favourite player...

What im trying to say is... i just cant justify blaming an injury on being in the game when the game was won... its a sport and injuries happen...

Once again, i understand the previous posters point on it not being necessary to be in the game at that time... but that doesnt take away from the fact that injuries happen... its bad luck... key guys play 5000 minutes a year... and your gonna fret over a 5 minute stint in garbage time worrying about a guy getting injured... im sorry... i can see the reasons for taking out stars out... im all for it... but just not for this particular reason.

He might be biased but he does give Tony credit when he has good games. Not that I have seen.

And I refuse to believe anyone can actually understand ducks enough to be pissed off by him.

dude rebounding was why the spurs lost against houston
bashing manu because his man outrebounding him by 13 is not acceptable?

I guess manu can do no wrong

Not that I have seen.

And I refuse to believe anyone can actually understand ducks enough to be pissed off by him.unfortunately, he manages to sound semi coherent enough for us to get that he is totally and completely fucking in love with Parker.

Basically, Ducks is to Tony what Aaronstampler is to Manu, complete fucking homers, and at the same time completely fucking clueless about what being a Spurs fan is all about.

Eh, you were singling him out in that case.
Bonzi outplayed everyone who was on him.

dude..nobody on the Spurs could handle Bonzi one on one...are you stupid in the head? You think Manu was guarding the entire game? And if Manu didn't show up the Spurs would have gotten blown out!

Also, Aarons recap against the Hornets he does give Tony credit if you take the time to read you know that.
dude I know manu can not handle wells
wellls plays well because manu can not match up with him
wells has killed the spurs since they got manu

I thought that article where he got pissed at Pop and Tony for non-existent offenses was a bit of a joke. But yeah, they take "having a favorite player" a little too far.

I think they have inferiority complexes or something.

Get this straight...Manu can't guard Bonzi one on one..neither can Bruce, neither can Finley, or Duncan or Oberto, or Barry, or Elson...and sure has hell neither can Parker

THe only one that might be able to guard him one on one on the Spurs is Udoka and that has yet to be determined.
so how are the spurs going to win

I think they should foul wells and get physicall with that asshole

Sup y'all? I've been super busy and unable to post much lately. I'm on the road tonight but caught 3/4 of the game. The passing was incredible and Tony Parker was breath-taking. Once again, the Bowenage continues and Bruce outscores Kobe.
