Call me evil but I would find it funny if Tom Brady gets hurt towards the end of the season and they get beat during their first playoff game. I don't have a problem with the hoodie, but I do have a problem with Rodney Roids and that douche bag Junior Seau. Remember the "retirement" speech he gave where he looked like he was up doing coke the whole night before? What douche bad retires than comes back a whole week later on another team? That shits stupid

I agree with you 100%. I think that without Moss, they would be a whole level behind the Colts and Cowboys. The past 2 years, I felt they overachieved quite a bit, and that by this year, their age and slow defense would really start to show, but they found a way to hide it by getting Moss. I still think that teams like the Colts and Cowboys will exploit that if they meet in the playoffs, because they are both capable of slowing them down defensively, and scoring at the same rate they do as well. Both teams showed some clear defensive weaknesses that the Patriots had, and had Reggie Wayne simply caught that one pass in their earlier meeting, the game would have likely been over. I am not one bit impressed with the Patriots the way many other people are. They are a team made to beat the crap out of lesser teams, but other elite teams can play right there with them.

Don't be an ignorant douche. His offense definitely takes pressure off the defense, much like the defense used to take pressure off their average offense in previous years. I've said it plenty of other times. Their offense scores so well, that other teams are FORCED to pass it downfield, just to keep up with them, thus making their offense very predictable and making it easier to get big plays such as interceptions, or forcing them into quick 3-and-outs taking up minimal time, which in turn puts their defense on the field even longer, making them more tired and even less capable of stopping the most dangerous offensive force in NFL history in Randy Moss. The guy is a TD just waiting to happen, and we cannot say that about any other player EVER.

I couldn't care less if either of them win MVP, but to say that it's all Moss is garbage. Of course Moss is playing incredible, but alot of people now have the misconception that the Patriots are a home-run team who just chucks it deep alot and prays that Moss gets it.

The Patriots are second in the league in Time Of Possession per game. Brady is still the masterful game manager he's always been.

but I could care less about MVP, give it to Favre.

I do hate the Pats, but I have respect for them as well. But let's all be honest, they really should not have beat the Chargers. They got really lucky that somehow the guy fumbled that interception that had basically sealed the game, as well as numerous other bizzare penalties. The Cowboys? They arent even that good. Their D got exposed against the Skins but their O is good enough to maybe land them in the superbowl due to the nfc being so bad. They cant pressure the qb all that well and their secondary is decent at best. The Cowboy arent a true elite and they arent good enough to win it all this season either. A healthy Colts team I will admit is the only team who can make it close with the Pats but even that isnt enough to beat them.

Moss should get the lionshare of the credit but Welker is the reason Brady is able to control the clock. Their offense wouldn't be as unstoppable if they lost either Welker or Moss.

you obviously haven't been watching the game for a long time. What you call lucky fumble or bizarre penalties (they were all legit) is what makes this game great and even all sports. There are no champions without good bounces or few breaks.
That's why we watch sports. Anything can happen. If whoever was supposed to win was winning, why would we even care??
what happened in san diego last year is what happens in all sports, to all champions(even though we didn't win).

If the Pats go undefeated it will be amazing.

Even if you don't like them, that's a feat worthy of respect.

What the Patriots are doing has the country buzzing and people will follow weekly the events that transpire. So I guess everyone is a winner in that regard.

But my gut says this NFL story will have a suprise ending.

And the moral will be 'karma.'

The Patriots are a great team. If they go undefeated, it'll be a great accomplishment. If it serves no other purpose other than to shut up those assholes from that overrated '72 Dolphins team, I'm all for it.

That said, I'm not a believer that their statistical records will mean much of anything from a historical perspective. Since nobody, maybe in the history of sports, has ever actually worked this hard to run the score up on teams and pad their stats, it's always going to hang over these records. Bad sportsmanship aside, throwing on fourth down with a 40 point lead is as artificial as Ricky Davis calling timeout to try for a triple double, and we all know it.

While this is a historic run, the lack of historical perspective and hubris displayed by this team is just staggering. It's ironic that in response to getting busted for cheating, that they then abandon any sense of sportsmanship or class, as though a couple dozen fourth quarter touchdowns are going to change the perception of a team that won three super bowls by a combined nine points. The only thing it really assures is the loss of any likeability factor they might have had.

Fortunately for me, as a Spurs fan, I never have to hear anyone compare the Spurs to the Patriots again, since Pop berated and benched the starting center for hitting a three pointer in garbage time of a playoff blowout.

At some point that dislike by the rest of the league could turn into something ugly. Karma's a funny thing, and the clock is always ticking on how long you can dodge it. Should something unfortunate or even intentional happen to suddenly derail this train, there will be those that won't be surprised to see it happen.

I agree. You can hang an asterisk on their stats, but there's no doubting the legitimacy of their wins. I really think they are beatable, and it would be satisfying to see them go undefeated and then lose in the playoffs. See 2006-2007 Dallas Mavericks.

I hate the Pats and I want Brady to take some serious hits. And in the course of taking a hit he breaks his arm, I won't feel sorry for him. But I'm not hoping for it. Or condone players doing it intentionally.

1) Oh well, shit - I was completely wrong. You don't want Brady to go down so the Colts can have a better chance at repeating, you want him to go down to preserve records! Who gives a fuck?

2) I don't want the Mavs, Suns, Rockets, or anyone else to lose players if they play the Spurs. I want a good series. I want to watch a champion beat the best, and I'm not going to applaud injuries. If you actually wish harm on someone for sports, you need to step back and chill the fuck out. You're taking it too seriously.

3) The Colts got handled by the Pats at home, followed it up by getting beaten by a horrible Chargers team in a horribly ugly game, and barely edged the shitty as hell Chiefs in another horribly played game. It's very safe to say they suck compared to the best teams in the league right now, and a win over one of the worst teams in the league on Thanksgiving doesn't change that. I know they're having a tough time with injuries, but if they played any of the top 3 or 4 teams in the NFL right now they'd get handled.

If you want to dispute the shit I spout off then go ahead, but no reason to make the personal attacks. With that said, go fuck yourself.

I could make the same excuses for the two Colts losses, but instead I'll blame Manning for turning it over with the game on the line. I could blame him for his six TOs in the Chargers game, but that loss belongs to Dungy and Vinatieri. Despite their mountain of injuries, the Colts are two or three plays away from being 11-0, and with Ugoh, Harrison and Diem coming back next week I'm sure they will start rocking the league again.

Well, Bob Lamey said on the radio that he got that info from Polian, so I assumed I could take that to the bank. But who knows, a lot of people have said Marvin will never be the same again if he comes back, that he won't come back at all, etc. But I put a lot more stock in something that reportedly came from Polian's mouth over anything ESPN or SI have to say about the Marvin situation.

Oh, I wasn't insinuating that you got your info from ESPN or SI. I kind of figured that you worked for local media since you said you talked the sports guy, etc. The thing with Marvin's injury is that it could be easily aggravated if he comes back before he's 100%. If he gets hit in the same knee again, we'd be in the same place we are now. That's why I think they have been holding him out this long. I know Dungy isn't the kind of coach to gamble with wins and losses, but like last year with the run defense (which I still contend was largely a charade given the light switch type of change between Week 17 and the Wild Card), I think they have been screwing around with the injury report in the same way Brady has thrown 39 touchdowns this year whilst being listed as probable with a shoulder injury in every game. I could be wrong and probably am, but I wouldn't put it past the Colts to do it.

It's hard to gauge what the Colts will do with Marvin. Obviously you want him to be healthy in the playoffs, and the Colts have a pretty easy schedule remaining after the Jacksonville game. I think they will ease him back into the game. He definitely will not play every down if he does indeed go on Sunday. We'll see if he's ready or not on Sunday, but the Colts have consistently been saying that they wanted to wait till after the stretch they just finished (Week 7-12) to bring him back, since it was the toughest part of the schedule. As it has been all year, we'll have to wait and see.

Any team with Ellis Hobbs starting at CB has a shaky defense.

Also, the LB crew is very slow, Colvin was one of our two speed LB's, but Adalius Thomas has been damn near nonexistent this year. In the AFC Championship Game last year, Indy became unstoppable on offense as soon as Colvin got hurt, because nobody else on the Patriots could cover a TE.

Kelly Washington is an absolute beast on special teams. Also, from what I hear, he's been really valuable in practice. He's not getting alot of offensive snaps, but he's doing alot of the dirty work for us and has been an incredible addition to the team.

Chad Jackson just got onto the roster after being hurt all year, but he's 5th on the WR depth chart. Belichick has been very positive about Jackson, he's a guy that they still have high hopes for. He just can't get on the field right now with everybody in front of him.

Well, he (our guy) made it sound like he (sports guy) thinks Harrison is done permanently, but that's just his (sports guy's) speculation...I only added that part because that's the impression he got. He thinks the injury is much more than the Colts are letting on. (This isn't on-the-record or anything...just his own opinion.)

By this point, Harrison has talked with his doctor, and practices have resumed.
The word around here is that he isn't playing this week...and, as always, you can only really go week-to-week in these situations.

But again, there's always that chance they're messing with the Jags too...but it doesn't seem that way. That's why I said, take that how you want...it's all a guessing game for us anyway.

I'm beginning to think they'll just hold him out until the playoffs, or at least another couple of games. They really don't need him for any of the remaining games since they shut down the Jags the last time they played, and Marvin only played a few snaps of that game. Granted, Garrard left that game early and has been playing well since he returned, but I think they are going to include Gonzalez more in the receiving game to get him some experience.

I really can't see a knee bruise ending the career of one of the best WRs ever.

All of these teams are better than this version of the 2007 Patriots. They didn't play in the salary cap, free agency, heavily expansion era league like the Patriots do now. What the Pats are doing is impressive. But the best ever? Hell no. And don't bother posting numbers. They are irrelevant. Considering how the game has changed so much to make the offense so much successful and how the rules changed as well.

Don't forget the 1991 Redskins...oh, that's right, you're a Cowboys fan... :lol

if the pats win out they will be the best team ever... one, bc they will have won more games and bc players are bigger stronger and faster than ever before. lineman back in the days would only be undersized linebackers in todays nfl.

The 1977 Steelers
The 1985 Bears
The 1992 and 1993 Cowboys
The 1989 Niners

Don't you mean the '78 Steelers?

I would also add the following teams to your list.

'72 Dolphins
'75 Steelers
'76 Raiders
'84 Niners
'86 Giants
'91 Redskins
'94 Niners
'96 Packers

Why do you say that?

They led the NFL in scoring offense and scoring defense that season.

'94 Niners? That team won because the Cowboys spotted them 21 to start the game of the NFC championship. Then they got possibly the weakest Super Bowl team ever in the '94 suck ass Chargers. That team wasn't elite, it was fortunate.

They dethroned the two-time champion Cowboys. The also had the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year on the same team.

I remember 1994. There was a period between 1994 and 1997 when I really hated the Cowboys. I didn't hate them beforehand, and then once they fell apart, I didn't hate them anymore.

The issue in 1994 was that I had started college, and was exposed to these Cowboy fans from Dallas who bitched, moaned, made excuses, etc. for four months following the NFC Championship Game loss to SF. I learned to hate those obnoxious Cowboys fans and also the team.

You brought back those memories.

While I don't believe hate belongs with anything involved with a game, I developed a serious and intense dislike for those fans...and still have it. I feel the same about Spurs fans who make excuses.

I don't know much about that team but their record was superb. It was the year Jim Taylor scored 19 touchdowns. I have no problem adding them to the list.

I have also heard from older fans that the '69 Chiefs was an incredible team. Their regular season wasn't as impressive as some champions. But their roster was stacked with great, talented athletes from what I have seen on NFL Films.

You must be referring to bandwagon fans since you started to dislike them less after 1997. I can assure you that I am not a bandwagon fan, and would be right in your face all day long if it ensured hatred from such a stodgy, pompous ass.

You have your opinion and I have mine, but feel free to hate me as much as you want. I'll make sure to enjoy it.

I had the privilege to meet Willie Mitchell from that team back in '97. He and Warren McVea are both from San Antonio and played in SB 4 when KC beat Minnesota. Great guy. He worked for United Way and my company was doing a big United Way thing so he came out and talked with us. He showed off his SB ring. Very cool.

Talk about crazy stuff, I had completely forgotten that the Pats own the 49'ers First Rounder in 2008 -- despite the penalty of losing their own first rounder in 2008, the Pats will still (most likely) have a top 5-8 pick in next year's draft.

Yep this team is set for the next 3-4 years. Having a pick like that makes this unbeatable powerhouse even sicker. Might as well hand us next years rings too because it is going to be a LONG ASS time until somebody knocks off the greatest franchise of all time.

I didnt say the Spurs didnt have a chance. I am saying the Celts (if healthy) have as good of a chance to win it all as anyone. And yes the Pats are going to win the superbowl. Name me who is going to take their place as champs this year? The Cowboys and their shaky D? The Steelers? The injury depleted Colts? The choking chargers? The Packers? Please name me somebody who is going to win it all if it isnt going to be the most dominating team of all time in New England.

I disagree. I think they have more pressure if they go undefeated. Especially if they fall behind in the 4th Qtr during the playoffs. In the back of their mind, they will be thinking about the disappointment and embarrassment of going undefeated in the regular season but bowing out to an inferior team at home.

I don't think that the Pats will feel any additional pressure in the PO if they are 16-0, but I do think they have the toughest road to the SB of the #1 seeds. Indy, SD, and Jax are all playing damn good ball to finish the season and the Steelers are capable of rising up on a given day. I wonder if there is some fatigue on the Pats given the age of some of their players (especially defensive) and the mental and emotional high they've been firing on since the spygate thing. I'm interested to see how Belichick plays this final game - rest players to try to recover or go for 16 and leave no doubts?

The Colts. With their O coming back in full form and #88 getting back on the field, they will abuse the living shit out of the Pats D. They also are a solid running team as well. Maroney had a nice 2 games against horrible rush defenses but he will be a non-factor against teams like the Colts. Peyton Manning will pick that defense apart much worse than Feely did.

The NFL is going to be in for a huge dose of karmic irony when the Colts win the Super Bowl by beating the two teams that (barely) blocked them from being undefeated this year.

I'll also lol my balls off if the Seahawks pull the upset and reach the Super Bowl since that's the team that came out of the NFC in Madden 08 when I played season mode back in August.
