But since the Spurs aren't getting smoked, I'd argue that apart from the turnovers, they look better. Only being down by single digits with horrendous shooting means something is working ok out there.

The Spurs are hustling, but the Mavs don't look good at all. It's probably indicative of how they've been playing lately, and if they continue at this level the Spurs have a good chance to get the win if they can get their shots to fall. This definitely isn't the same team the Spurs played three weeks ago, this one looks pretty feeble.

what's with this ticky tack off the ball foul calls? Let them play physical

See: Salvatore, Bennet and Cuban, Mark and Baby, Cry

We always get fucked over on Mavs games. I don't watch enough Mavs games to know if other teams have this issue (and therefore it's created by Mark Cuban's whining) or if we just get unlucky. Either way, by this point, I anticipate it, and I'd hope they would too and adjust accordingly.

What frustrates me in this particular game is that the calls have been inconsistent. It's bullshit to start calling ticky tack fouls in the closing seconds of the half that you were letting go earlier in the game. Players can't adjust to that bullshit.

Spurs should anticipate bullshit ticky tack fouls called on them when they play the Mavs and try not to commit them.

Not true. The officiating has been a bit inconsistent with the charging call and started the game off letting the Mavs hit the legs of shooters, but they adjusted to that and called Harris on it. Yeah, that series where it took them 3 tries, a stupid foul and overtime to close out the Spurs sure was definitive, wasn't it?

Who else feels we should do Bonner over Elson in this game?

I haven't seen ANYTHING from Elson tonight that tells me he's worth keeping on the floor

Also, I'd much rather see Barry run the point than Vaughn.

Vaughn doesn't really bring anything to the table, he's just there to not turn the ball over.

We don't have time for that in a game without TD.

Oberto has 3 fouls precisely because of this 7-foot charmin-soft dickless faggot selling the refs all these off-the-ball foul calls

If you're talking about the call on Finley right at the end of the half, it was a good call because Finley was holding him. Finley needs to not use his hands and use his arms and body to muscle up and his feet to get position. The call on Oberto was weak but the Spurs got a couple on Dampier that were pretty close to the same as well. The refs have been inconsistent, but not really one sided.

They're doing the right thing by muscling Dirk. Sure you'll get called for a few fouls, but in the end you give up a few FT if you keep him frustrated and MIA like they have so far. That is exactly what you do to him and it's working. The Spurs just need to shoot the damn ball better and run a better offensive set that's in control. They've been wild and undisciplined on a lot of possessions and have just flat out missed shots at times as well. Defense hasn't been bad, just need to step up the O in this one.

Actually, yes. I've seen him around Dallas several times and have seen him be a complete dick to people on three or four occassions. Not even at night clubs, just at restaurants or at Wal-Mart. No need for that bullshit, just go about your business like I've seen Dirk do on a few occassions as well. Dirk seems like a pretty good guy when I've seen him around.

I just find this whole "If A hadn't happened, then B wouldn't have followed" rationalizations over the Manu foul amusing. Dallas still had to win the game in overtime. If you want to play the What If game, Terry's nutpunch in all likelihood prevented Dallas from sending you guys fishing in six. You won that game by five points and packed the lane against Harris. I'm not watching the game but by the box score I can assume this:

Ginobili was in the start up line which I find amusing. We count on Barry to bring something from the bench. Finley is on the bench. COuld this be the beginning of Fin being benched going forward? I've seen Pop taking advantage of opportunities like this before.

I can also assume we aren't stopping Terry on the 3 line which is as old as the world is. We can't let him fire that shot.

I'm not watching the game but by the box score I can assume this:

Ginobili was in the start up line which I find amusing. We count on Barry to bring something from the bench. Finley is on the bench. COuld this be the beginning of Fin being benched going forward?
No it looks like pop adjusting a line up sans duncan.
