LOL I'll bet you anything he is on the list, that guys was the posterboy for roids. I think Albert Belle has a better chance of being left off..

I agree with Griffey. I'll add a few others of my own:
Alex Rodriguez -- I'm not sure ARod could take that and the hell that would come with it.
Cal Ripken, Jr., Craig Biggio, Julio Franco -- longevity guys might fit the bill, but I feel fairly confident that these guys aren't roiders.
Curt Schilling -- say what you will about the guy, but I appreciate his public candor and his competitive fire.
Manny Ramirez and Vlad Guerrero -- I'm taken by their natural ability to hit a baseball and would hate to think that they're tainted.

it was certainly suspicious.
arguments in his favor would be that it was just a one year power spike from a player who had shown the ability to hit HRs before, but was completely locked in during the 1996 season.
in addition, it wasn't completely unprecedented. davey johnson had a similar track record before the days of roids.

i would argue that the longevity is in their favor for being clean.
in addition, each of those guys experienced a normal career arc. not coming from the rafters to have some of the best seasons in baseball history at 38, 39, 40 years old.

If Cal or Gwynn are on there baseball would just die. I would be dissapointed to see Griffey on that list.

If guys like Griffey, A-Rod, Jeter, etc. are on the list, baseball just might be screwed.

Biggio and Bagwell.
I have a feeling Bagwell will be named but not Biggio.
I really hope Biggio isn't on that list. He's the greatest Astro ever IMO.

Alex Rodriguez...
I know he's an ahole but I still want him to be a legit great player....as he's in the argument for the greatest player in history. I'd like that to be real...
Clemens just outed by information from a Yankees trainer on Mike & Mike.

Fuck yes. I would love for Roger to go down in flames, as well as the entire Red Sox line-up. Get them all!!!
"Several prominent Yankees" set to be named too according to info given to the Mike & Mike staff. I hope A Rod isn't named, though. I'm not a Yankees fan but like whottt, I want his career accomplishments to be legit.
On the Clemens thing... what they said on Mike & Mike was that Clemens' and Pettite's trainer said that he obtained steroids for Clemens. The info didn't seem to implicate Pettite, just that the trainer worked with both Andy and Roger.

Clemens: blossomed in his 40's like Barry Bonds.
Bagwell: suddenly blew up like a balloon in 1994. Grew freakish beard in 2000 to conceal acne.

The info didn't seem to implicate Pettite, just that the trainer worked with both Andy and Roger. former New York Yankee strength trainer says information he provided to the George Mitchell investigation regarding supplying Roger Clemens (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=3340) with steroids is included in the Mitchell report scheduled to be released later today, a source close to the trainer told ESPN The Magazine's Shaun Assael.
Brian McNamee, who worked for the Yankees and as a personal trainer for Clemens and Yankee teammates Andy Pettitte (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5331), also told investigators that on at least one occasion, Clemens was in possession of steroids from another supplier, the source said.

It is all such a witch hunt! Anabolic steroids & testosterone shots administered by qualified, knowledgeable MD’s are a good thing...
More muscularity, faster recovery between work outs & rapid recovery from sports injuries...Why isn’t anyone complaining about the 1970’s Pittsburg Stealers who helped make enhancement drugs main stream?

ESPN just confirmed Clemens and Petit are on the list. Said the list could be as high as 80 people.

Because it's cheating. Although a case for surgery that repairs ligaments and makes them better can be classified as cheating too.

just hope pudge isnt on it. i know his production isnt even that great compared to others rumored to have taken anything, but you never know. He's my favorite player, just hope all is good in tigerville.
Is there a possibility of indictments if you are on this list. What does it mean to be on the list ? What will the consequences be ?
No HOF I assume, for one. How far will it go ?

Clemens being outed isn't much of a surprise. I'd like to believe a power pitcher could keep going strong into his 40's.
Now you gotta wonder about Nolan Ryan . . .

Nah. Nolan was just hopped up on Advil and Rudy's bar-b-que sauce.

I'm just glad Cal Ripken's name didn't turn up. Everyone in Baltimore would had probably jumped into the Chesapeake Bay.

Mr. Kermit- I am being quite serious when I say that every sport in America uses anabolic steroids & testosterone injections...Women’s track, baseball pitchers, fly weight boxers, bicyclists, swimmers....There are designer enhancement products for every need...Speed, taking weight off, recovery from injuries...
Sports doctors know this stuff inside & out...The drugs keep getting better & better...What I object to is that BALCO has designed them for the sole purpose of beating the available testing methods...

There's a difference betwenn non-medical and medical steriod usage. Use your brain and figure out which one the players in that list are accused of taking. I know that every sport uses them; that's the point of this investigation, is it not? To root out the use and to make changes to end their "illegal" usage?

Well Sen. Mitchell did say just because you weren't on the list, doesn't mean there aren't more. That's just the result of two people that turned states evidence and testified. I doubt just two people were supplying the entire league.
Thank god they had steroids. Selig and the owners turned a blind eye to it for the money. After the strike the owners were bleeding money and baseball was in trouble, much like the NHL now. Say what you want, but Sosa/McGuire put the meat back in the seats.
The NHL should be so lucky to have such a simple solution.
