Smooth-sailing Rockets
By Sam Smith
Tribune pro basketball reporter

Houston, with Luis Scola coming on, won its first back-to-back set and had at least five players in double figures for the second straight game, both without Tracy McGrady. It's giving the team more reason to move McGrady, who is said to have quietly let it be known he's no longer happy in Houston. With the Rockets still in need of a point guard, you could see them working out a package that includes Hinrich and Andres Nocioni.

welll boo fucking hoo. He wanted out of Orlando so bad and he got his wish of coming to a potential contender. I like this guy a hell of lot as a player, but he's startin to be a whiny baby.

he doesn't know how to give up the ball. and having francis, james and alston as point guards ain't helping things.

Isaiah should get him for the Knicks. He would fit in perfectly.

OMG what a puss.... T-MAC is the type of player that makes me not want to watch NBA basketball. T-MAC is a bitch. Why would any team want him? Which ever team takes will have the playoff curse.

What this means is that TMac is not happy Brad Lidge is no longer in Houston.

Sam Smith is a dope.

Smith was blasting the Seattle Supersonics for having a minority owner who contributed to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - saying what a horrible organization it is (when 95% of your direct peers hold you in such low esteem - there is smoke to the fire of John Kerry's dubious activities after his time in Vietnam).

Smith knows only slightly more about Basketball than he does about history or politics. Scola is not "coming on" to the extent of dumping McGrady for 70 cents on the dollar. Houston has too many one on one type players and really no team concept with Adelman in place. Van Gundy got out just in time - at least he got those guys to buckle down and D up.

McGrady is a headache for any team that has him, that is true. You just don't know when he is available and he is always apt to wig out on you.

Dwight Howard - swept
LeBron James - swept
Tracy McGrady - blows 2-0 series lead for 2nd time in 3 seasons
Josh Howard/Jason Terry - win 67, lose 1st round.

Don't forget he bitched and moaned because the Raps weren't giving him enoug PT and wouldn't move him either, so he signed as a FA with the Magic.

Rockets' Francis out indefinitely
The Sports Network

Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis was diagnosed with bi-lateral quadricep tendinitis Monday and will be out indefinitely.

Francis, who has already been sidelined since December 20 with the flu, will not accompany the team on its upcoming road trip so he can begin rehabilitation.

Francis is averaging just 5.5 points and 3.0 assists in 10 games this season.

I would do one of the following trades:
McGrady for...
Lamar Odom + Jordan Farmar + Chris Mihm
Corey Maggette + Sam Cassell
Ben Gordon + Kirk Hinrich
Richard Jefferson + Bostjan Nachbar
Travis Outlaw + Steve Blake

like it matters anymore. the rockets' season is going down the drainpipe. and unless they can do something to salvage it, its sayonara, houston.

one possible good thing that could come out of it, though, is that the Official Scola Thread gets unpinned as important.

But the rockets are a bigger threat to the spurs than the Mavs are.

I wish he were not so fragile :pctoss

as far as unhappy with Houston...well I think he is frustrated with the results after starting 6-1, but that describes everyone on the team including Yao.

Now with tmac out against boston tomorrow, that is shaping up to be a catostrophic beat down.....

The best defense so far this season awaits the McGradyless Rockets.

Mcgrady was never happy with houston he was better off with his old team they all hated him on the rockets and they hated him because he was a one man team again
