    Smooth-sailing Rockets
    By Sam Smith
    Tribune pro basketball reporter

Houston, with Luis Scola coming on, won its first back-to-back set and had at least five players in double figures for the second straight game, both without Tracy McGrady. It's giving the team more reason to move McGrady, who is said to have quietly let it be known he's no longer happy in Houston. With the Rockets still in need of a point guard, you could see them working out a package that includes Hinrich and Andres Nocioni.

    Sam Smith is a dope.

Smith was blasting the Seattle Supersonics for having a minority owner who contributed to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - saying what a horrible organization it is (when 95% of your direct peers hold you in such low esteem - there is smoke to the fire of John Kerry's dubious activities after his time in Vietnam).

Smith knows only slightly more about Basketball than he does about history or politics. Scola is not "coming on" to the extent of dumping McGrady for 70 cents on the dollar. Houston has too many one on one type players and really no team concept with Adelman in place. Van Gundy got out just in time - at least he got those guys to buckle down and D up.

McGrady is a headache for any team that has him, that is true. You just don't know when he is available and he is always apt to wig out on you.

    Rockets' Francis out indefinitely
    The Sports Network

Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis was diagnosed with bi-lateral quadricep tendinitis Monday and will be out indefinitely.

Francis, who has already been sidelined since December 20 with the flu, will not accompany the team on its upcoming road trip so he can begin rehabilitation.

Francis is averaging just 5.5 points and 3.0 assists in 10 games this season.
