Seattle is so up and down I have no clue. If the Seahawks bring their A-game, they'll kill the Redskins. But you never know if they're bringing their A-game or their F-game, and they never seem to bring anything in between.

The Skins should be able to make Seattle 1 dimensional by the end of the first quarter. The question is if Collins can stay hot and Washington can score some points.
First to score 20 wins.

quite possible.
although that would be a mistake. if you look at the stats - even while the redskins were struggling - greg williams' defenses did nothing short of dominate 1 dimensional offenses this past year.

they've struggled for the past month. you could make an argument that - of the 12 teams in the playoffs - dallas has been the 12th best team since the beginning of December.

Dallas struggled since two of their three best players got injured (which coincidentally started happening in December). With a healthier team and two (or three) weeks rest, they are fully capable of beating all comers in the watered down NFC.

The Eagles: Romo clearly struggled with his bad thumb. If we score a mere 13 points, we win.
The Panthers: We were really clicking until T.O. went down. This kind of changed the momentum and play-calling of the game obviously.
The Redskins: Vanilla offense and no-blitzing vanilla defense that were "just out there". Why you guys act like you won an all-out war is beyond me. Do you really think we were playing this game as if we must win it? That would have been the Redskins...I won't even mention the injuries also.
Maybe this is considered a "struggle" but for obvious and correctable reasons. We will see this team light it up next week...I hope.

You mention injuries? How about losing 7 starters like Washington???

The Vegas line is now Seattle -3 a 5 point swing
This is now the biggest swing in NFL in over 20 yrs.
Heads will roll in Vegas casinos. Whoever set this line will be fired, if Washington covers this spread.
How can any one with half a brain so completely miss this line????
Washington was the hottest team in the NFC, they are all playing for Taylor and Joe Gibbs, their D has been without question, the best in the NFL the last 4 wks.

Prediction:
Washington 29
Seattle 13
After looking at their schedules, I have learned that Seattle does not even belong in the playoffs.
Why?
1) Washington probably has the second-best defense in the NFC.(Behind Dallas) The Seahawks, factoring in their lame schedule, have almost the worst defense in the entire NFL.
2) Schedule strength. Seahawks have played patsies while the Redskins played the Pats. And the Redskins haven't just had to confront the Patriots. Washington also had to travel to Green Bay, play the Cowboys twice, the Giants twice and the division champion Bucs on the road, too. In all, Washington coped with seven games against teams that are in the playoffs.
Seattle faced almost nobody. The Seahawks played only two games against playoff teams. They played 9 games against teams with a losing record. In fact, Seattle only faced two teams that won even 10 games. :lol Seattle's record is mostly a mirage, built on four cream-puff wins against paltry NFC West rivals San Francisco and St. Louis.

I think the Washington defense is better than Dallas - although I'm not sure either is the best in the conference (Tampa?). Dallas is slightly better in yards per game, but Washington was better in yards per play (remember that the Redskins had a pretty inconsistent offense that often struggled to control the clock until the last 3 weeks).
I'd also say that Seattle's defense is completely mediocre - as in middle of the pack.

Better stay with your first thought. Redskins are not a great team. They are playing well at this point, but to travel to Seattle is a different ballgame than playing the Cowgirls who had NOTHING to play for.

Yeah the Cowboys sure acted like they had nothing to play for, playing their starters for a half and a bit of the 3rd until they realized they were getting owned and folded.
Last two Super Bowls were won not by a #1 seed but a team that got hot at the right time. Washington could make the Super Bowl if they keep playing this hot but I don't think they can beat any of the 6 AFC teams save for maybe the Titans. If there's one team that is not a great team and doesn't deserve to be playing in the month of January, it's the Tennessee Titans.

The Cowboys starters had to play a half or else they would have had 3 weeks of no game time. As it was they were completely disinterested and without many starting pieces, so I have no doubts they will be much, much better next week. The skins still have Todd Collins at QB, and more than likely he turns to trash today. I'm thinking we see the Giants or Bucs in Texas Stadium next week.

some uncharacteristic bad stuff going for the Skins right now. the defense is tackling worse than it did at any point in the regular season, Springs is playing like a rookie, and an O-Line that should be getting at least a minor push against the Seattle DL is getting their asses handed to them.
some of the other bad things are either understandable (heyer struggling) or were issues during the regular season (dropped balls).
but they better pull their heads out soon, because this isn't a team that's built for come from behind victories.

collins obviously is not the long term answer. of all the QBs who started a game this year, he probably has one of the 2 or 3 weakest arms.
but in terms of knowing where to go with the ball, when to release it, and knowing his OC's offense - he's a league average guy at least.
(skins just got an AWWWWWWWFUL spot on 4th down - they are going to review it, but shame on the side judge for his initial spot, an easy call and he completely blew it - although they might have been short anyways).

You're kidding yourself if you think Campbell would have led to the 'Skins to where they're at right now.Campbell wasn't playing poorly this year. They were decimated by injuries. Collins' hasn't done a single thing that Campbell isn't capable of and wasn't doing beforehand. Collins had the benefit of a having a team behind him playing with a passion and determination due to some horrible circumstances.
He's done well with his opportunity but I see absolutely nothing about Collins that Campbell isn't capable of doing and exceeding.

If the Skins keep the staff together, they are set up fairly well for next year. Should be relatively few holes to fix (we need a big WR, some corner depth, a DE, and maybe an upgrade along the OL and at FS- although those spots are not dire). If they get most of that and Campbell progresses, Washington will have a good chance to compete for the division and maybe more.

not a great pass, but it was one on one on the outside. not a horrible decision. however, anytime the defender sees the ball and receiver gives up on the play = interception.
Uh speaking of gambling, was Moss paid off? That was a bullshit play if there ever was one. His comment after the game:
"I thought it was a dead play," Moss said. "Then, all of a sudden I look up and the guy is catching it like a punt. You hate to be in a situation where the ball is coming and you don't even know it."
Yeah because, ya know when your quarteback drops back for a pass and has already put the ball in the air they call "dead play" all the time.
Was this asshole paid off or what? :nope

well, he did make a huge TD grab earlier the game.
he kinda had his head up his ass all year long. probably dropped more passes in the Green Bay game than he had all of the last 2 years. that, and he had the nagging injury.
Washington will need him to bounce back in a big way next year, because he's good for beating any DB in the league deep at least once a game.

I'm glad the Redskins lost...I hope they keep Joe Gibbs around forever..his football philosophy is never gonna make the Redskins a contender again.
I would disagree. Gibbs is a big reason they made the playoffs this year. He held that team together through injuries and Taylor's death. :toast to a good job by him.

Man, I wanted the Redskins to win so they could go beat Dallas next week :madrun
Very nice run by the Redskins. If that field goal was good, the whole game would have changed. The Redskins and their fans have nothing to be ashamed of.
Gotta love the class of Mav/Cowboy fan in this thread. I can't wait until that soft team implodes again this year. I truly think the Redskins would have beaten 'em.
FUCK THE REDSKINS!!!
No, seriously... Fuck the skins. To hell.
