Will the Spurs sleepwalk again or will they finally start getting it together?

I guess we'll find out tonight against a team they should beat -- especially at home.

01-14-2008, 05:09 PM
Come out strong, knock them out, and sit the starters for the fourth.

I want to see them play like they mean it. At least in longer spurts than the Wolves game.

I know we've been saying their slump is just January stuff and I agree with it, but if we lose tonights game it's just something I can't ignore.

Jimcs50
01-14-2008, 05:15 PM
Well, if they can not beat a team that they have only one loss at home to in 21 yrs, then they really are in trouble.

I watched that game at the Alamodome and remember thinking, "that Iverson guy is pretty good." It think it was his rookie season.

My guess is that they sleepwalk through the first half and squeak it out at the very end. I don't see them breaking out of their funk just yet

Ugh. Look good for 2 minutes, then fall in a hole again...

Tim has been put off by the early doubles. Since then he's forced a bad shot and made an inexplicable pass to Bowen with men all around him. If Tim wants to get going he has to catch and go straight into his move, like he did the other night.

I'd put Bonner, not Rob, in here. We need energy and speed, and Bonner's a lot quicker than Rob at this stage of his career.

These young teams are ferocious and they do have a lot of energy. They have nothing to lose. And they do circle their calendars for a game against us. If you let them hang out too long, they'll grow confidence and if we're not too careful they can beat us. The equivalent of a sucker or haymaker punch in boxing.

Spurs should break their will while it's yet early so we can coast and rest the starters in the 4th.

Boston Feb. 10th?that's right. This team made a turnaround last yr when they won a hard-fought battle against Detroit last yr after a series of losses, just before the All-Star game that made me think there's a chance for them to made it through June of 2007. Maybe a win over Celtics can revive them again this year. I'm tired of hearing those people saying about how good the Celtics are. They have to prove it first.

They do normally rise and play their best against another good team. Which is why the Detroit game was a little unsettling. It wasn't the loss, it was the effort in the first quarter.

I agree that they should rise for Boston, and the timing is right for them to be turning up the steam and coming together as a team for the push to the Playoffs.

Great second quarter by Parker and Duncan!

I wonder why Manu is so hesitant to attack today? He is passing well, but he doesn't seem to want to go to the hole.

BTW, check out these dynasty league scores for my team for the last month - 141, 135, 137, 134... and the bench guys have all put up 5-10 pts too. It's an injury resistant team too, because there's only one real star.

Parker has got to be the WORST frigging jump shooting PG in the entire league....he gets open looks after open looks and he can't get it in. When is he going to learn how to hit wide open jumper from 15 feet? It's beyond frustrating. And to think that some of the posters here think he is top 5 PG.

Manu and TP - you can't hit the broad side of a barn today, so GO TO THE RACK. Bruce - do the opposite! :lol

same problem as Nazr........he tries to hold onto the ball too long and put it on the floor BEFORE taking it up strong for a dunk. If he had any brains or skill, he would have taken it up at the same time as caught the ball and would have had easy dunk
