This is just my opinion....but I think it is a good one :smokin ..and to all those fakers who think the Spurs are boring to watch, you obviously know absolutely nothing about basketball and about the greatest team and sports franchise in the past decade!.. I mean they were given that title 'boring' back in 2000 and it has stuck with them since. But ever since (The One Man Fastbreak) Tony Parker and ( El Contusion, The Magician) Manu Ginobili entered the picture, boring and the Spurs go together like oil and water, like Jews and pork, like Clemens and the truth, like Paris Hilton and talent, like Bush and intelligence. It doesnt make any sinse at all when someone calls the Spurs boring!

when he plays like tonight there isnt anyone in the league that is better...

of course kobe has another level... so does wade...

only those 3 at guard have the killer instinct and skill to separate them from the rest of the pack...

Yeap, when he doesn'tt have a cast or an injured INDEX FINGER ON SHOOTTING HAND!!!

Lebron took time to rest a pinky finger, so let's not underestimate Manu's injury.

Pre-injury Manu was a top5 player.

Manu should go to tha NBA All Star I think he deserved it and should get the 6th man award the guy hustle every game, if he is not having a good offensive game he'll make it up with his defense and that my friends is the sign of a smart player and team player who contributes any way he can, passing , rebounding , shooting and making the other players better, he is not selfish the only problem with this team is that when they retire the Spurs Org. is going to have to retire their numbers and they are not going to have enough numbers for the other players to wear and Manu number should be up there with David's, Goerge's and Avery's and again Manu is the Man

Im far from the "Manu should start" homer camp but the man is definately playing at another level this year. When Manu is playing like he is now its pretty much impossible to believe another team could beat the Spurs in a 7 game series.

That being said, I cant wait for Parker to come back and Manu going back to 6th man.

I'm surprised he only managed to commit 1 turnover in 41 minutes. :wow

And I agree. When Parker comes back, Manu will have more time to destroy teams from his sixth man role with the 2nd unit like at the start of the season; hopefully we have a healthy run going into the playoffs, we'll be in a good position.

With Kobe hurt and possibly (possibly) missing the ASG, it will be interesting to see who might replace him in New Orleans. I'd put my money on Baron Davis, personally, but if Kobe's truly out, I could also see that the Commissioner might choose a shooting guard as a replacement.

Manu's All-Star hopes might not be completely dashed (though I'd prefer that he have the weekend off).

I think because the All Stars already have Nash, Paul and Iverson as point guards...I think Manu would get a chance if they are indeed looking for a shooting guard...Because if they choose another point guard, then there won't be enough shooting guards...

That would be cool if Manu got to sub in for Bryant, because it'd count as 2 -All Star appearances, and Manu definitely got snubbed this year.

Maybe if Bryant, Being a Manu fan, sees Manu's recap, he'll vouch for Manu to replace him, letting him rest his finger :lol

26 ppg 7.4 apg 7.4 rpg 2.4 spg 54 FG% 47% 3PT% all that in 38 minutes... this is not Lebron, this is not Kobe... This is GINOBILI for the last 5 games

If TD plays like the MVP he still is, if TP comeback rested and ready to shred defenses and with Manu on fire we don't have to fear any team.

Ok, I know I'm a Pistons fan, but I'm a Ginobili slappy. I love watching the guy play. The only player I love watching play more is Iverson. But, anyway, I thought some of you might find this debate interesting. I have a running debate with a guy on another messageboard as to which player is better, Manu or T-Mac. Thought some of you Manu fans might find the debate interesting. It is kind of long and I think you have to register to see the thread, but if you're interested enough, take a look:

Odd, but they were discussing him on ESPN halftime in the Suns/GS game, and the statement was made that Ginoboli MAY be the best all around basketball player in the WORLD.

I suppose that MAY BE leaves some room for doubt, but they look at him at least in the top 2 or 3 possibilities.

I think what makes Manu so special is there are nights like last night, where he beats you with his shooting. Then there are nights where he rebounds you to death. Some nights it's stolen balls, others assists. Maybe another he is driving and gives you 15/15 from the FT line. The bottom line is, Manu doesn't have any glaring weaknesses in his game. He can hurt you in so many ways, and especially in crunch time.

Well, you gotta be rational. Manu has had two big games and has been putting up 20+ in the rest of the games. He's been playing really good, SuperManu maybe but no that much to this kind of hype in the board.
Manu is an exellent player, maybe even better than some so called superstar who have a good jumpshot and dunk on people, Manu plays actual basketball to win plus has the skills to play it right that makes him a better player but many people here has to get a grip on themselves.

Look at the stats per 48 minutes

Manu #5 scorer second among SG (Kobe #1)
#6 rebounder among SG (Kobe #7)
#4 in assists among SG (Kobe #5)
#2 in steals among SG (#9 in the league) Kobe #7 (#19)
Add a 41 3P%, 3 rings, gold medal,...

Then you can understand that after two huge games we may sometime overreact.
Nobody (but some hardcore Manu fans) really think MANU > LJ or Kobe. But Manu is a top 5 SG in the league top 3 IMO and maybe #2 behind Kobe.

JamStone, you always bring excellent takes (though I didn't quite follow you on the Pop-Grizz collusion stuff :) ) so I am gonna register to see this Manu debate.

I've always been very curious as to how Manu is perceived by other teams' fans.

I know he is labeled as a big time flopper (and I can't really argue against that at times) but sometimes it feels like he's never given the respect by other teams that he deserves, but once again, it might just be that his flopping overshadows his play making ability, which would be an absolute shame.

No way his flopping overshadows his championships. Fans who think like that are just hatin. It's like Tim, you know he always barks at the refs to the point it get's annoying, but that is not going to be what defines his career. (Although Tim has calmed down alot the last 2 seasons.

I think with non-marginal NBA fans, Manu's intangibles and team player-mentality stands out, and he gets respect.

but I think Manu has kind of an under-dog quality to him, so lots of times he's downplayed as being a bench player, or the third best player on the Spurs, when he's a lot more multi-dimensional than that.

I'd say this season if he keeps healthy , he's easily the 2nd best SG in the West, because he's starting to look a lot like his early season form with his hand healed up.
