Ive heard the knick are looking to trade Zach Randolph. Now after what happen tonight where he threw water in Nate robinsons face and got in to it with his own teammate it seems like its a done deal that hes gone. I'm not very good with how trades and the Cap works but what would it take for us to get him???

Why would you want someone who is a team cancer and a totally lazy pile of crap?
Chill out. Use the search function.

Why would we want him? He is crap and a cancer. Fuggedaboutit, and stop starting stupid threads that were already done to death a fortnight ago.

No. It's not an inside joke. It's simply a matter of Randolph NOT being the type of player who could seemingly fit in wiht the Spurs. Look at it this way. He plays the PF position and is a 20-10 guy. You DO know that we have our own 20-10 guy who already plays that position - in # 21. It's the same rationale as to why Scola wasn't supposedy to be a good fit. Furthermore, Duncan is not likely to move full time to the 5 spot.
From a financial perspective, it would be a disaster because Randolph's salary is very close to Tim's. So if you're looking into that option, I'm guessing that the Spurs would likely have to part with Manu, TP and others to make the numbers work.
All these are reasons why I asked the return question of WHY?
Randolph is a talented player but hasn't shown to be a discplined team player. In other words he's not Spur material IMO. He needs the ball on a regular basis to be effective. Not enough ball to go around. TD, TP, MAnu will get their share before he does. If he demands the ball more then it will disrupt our system making our team worse rather than better.

Well, your "ideas" aren't new is all. The search feature is up near the top of the page, slightly to the right of centre.
Randolph may be capable of 20-10, but have you seen him play? LOW bball IQ. Would never fit as a Spur because of that, his cancerous personality, his overblown contract, and the fact that he duplicates Duncan's game.
Lock it... oh no, that's right, this isn't SR! :lol

Don't take it personal. It was my way of saying the trade isn't feesable. I just didn't feel like putting into a full sentence. :)

ESPN has something called the Trade Machine and RealGM has a trade checker. Start there if you want to know if a trade is merely possibe, which doesn't answer the question of whether or not it's plausible. In general, the salaries need to match within 20%. In addition to this, you need to consider the the type of contracts involved, long, short, etc...And, of course, whether or not the players would even make good basketball sense on the proposed roster.
For reasons already stated, Randoph makes no sense whatsoever.

Im not talking about starting him or anything just having him as another weapon because Bonner and elson are not doing it .

So you'd pay a guy 17 million a year to just be a back up center?
That didn't work for the Knicks....

Elson and Bonner will be superfluous in the playoffs when Pop plays an 8 or 9 man rotation anyway.

not to mention that his HS coach said that he looks at the paper every morning expecting to see a story of randolph having killed somebody.
SALARY! You know mulah- dead presidents-benjamins - whatever you call it it would be a total disaster agianst the salary cap and our flexibility. We would have to give up way too much - TP or Manu for sure just to make it work realistically.
And as already stated - duplicates Timmy's game and has low BBIQ.
Bad fit. NO

If there was ever another reason as to why you want to pass on this guy, he is a horrific defender and a "me-first" guy.
Ron Artest would make more sense as a possible acquisition before Randolph would

We would have to give up way to damn much for Zach Randolph We have a better chance of getting Ron Artest for Ron we can give up Elson,Barry and a draft pick but for Randolph we have to give up alot of role players or one of the big 3 and still more players and cash for him. I think we need to do something with all this trading going on. I think we need a big man shit i wonder if we can try and swing Diop? WOULDNT THAT BE FUNNY ESP IF WE WON IT ALL!!!! CUBAN WOULD BE MAD AS FUCK!!!!

He had an integral role on the Portland "Jailblazers", under GM Steve Patterson. He had a list of transgressions during his tenure there - nothing too serious. He was just doing what everyone else was doing. If you want to know more his situation in Portland, check this out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zach_Randolph
After reading this, you'll know why the new GM and staff was so ready to ship him out on the night they drafted Oden. They needed a change in culture and his behavior contributed to a toxic culture that had developed there.

In March 2007, Randolph was spotted at a strip club after not playing in a game against the Washington Wizards. He had been granted bereavement leave to mourn the death of his girlfriend's cousin a day earlier.

Just a quick rundown for you on the "character" of Randolph. From Wikipedia:
Randolph's tenure has been somewhat controversial, in part due to the Trail Blazers' past history with players having off-the-court issues. He was cited for underage drinking the summer after his rookie year while back home in Marion and had to pay an undisclosed fine. He punched teammate Ruben Patterson in the face during a practice scuffle in 2003, an act which earned him a two-game suspension.[1] On June 8, 2006, Randolph ran into further legal trouble when two vehicles, both registered in his name, were pulled over by the Portland Police for racing in a 20 mph speed zone.[2] In August 2006, a sexual assault complaint was filed with Portland police over an incident with a stripper; after a month-long investigation, the Multnomah County district attorney declined to prosecute Randolph, citing lack of evidence.[3] Randolph is facing a civil suit related to that case.
In March 2007, Randolph was spotted at a strip club after not playing in a game against the Washington Wizards. He had been granted bereavement leave to mourn the death of his girlfriend's cousin a day earlier.[4]

How many times do we have to shoot this idea down?
Randolph does not defend or pass out of the post.
