Next!
Ive heard the knick are looking to trade Zach Randolph. Now after what happen tonight where he threw water in Nate robinsons face and got in to it with his own teammate it seems like its a done deal that hes gone. I'm not very good with how trades and the Cap works but what would it take for us to get him???
A better question, why would you even want the Spurs to take him?
"""NEXT"""what does that mean......am i missing some inside joke?
if it would be not a big deal to get him like getting rid of Bonner and Elson i would do it.. I think he is a good player and could help us downlow
Why would you want someone who is a team cancer and a totally lazy pile of crap?
Chill out. Use the search function.
Why would we want him? He is crap and a cancer. Fuggedabou , and stop starting stupid threads that were already done to death a fortnight ago.
$12+ mil per for 3 years past this one. Pass.
No. It's not an inside joke. It's simply a matter of Randolph NOT being the type of player who could seemingly fit in wiht the Spurs. Look at it this way. He plays the PF position and is a 20-10 guy. You DO know that we have our own 20-10 guy who already plays that position - in # 21. It's the same rationale as to why Scola wasn't supposedy to be a good fit. Furthermore, Duncan is not likely to move full time to the 5 spot.
From a financial perspective, it would be a disaster because Randolph's salary is very close to Tim's. So if you're looking into that option, I'm guessing that the Spurs would likely have to part with Manu, TP and others to make the numbers work.
All these are reasons why I asked the return question of WHY?
Randolph is a talented player but hasn't shown to be a discplined team player. In other words he's not Spur material IMO. He needs the ball on a regular basis to be effective. Not enough ball to go around. TD, TP, MAnu will get their share before he does. If he demands the ball more then it will disrupt our system making our team worse rather than better.

hahaha i knew you guys would be like that sorry i dont monitor the forum 24-7 and i dont know this search feature you talk about chill out. This thing is here for people to get there thoughts out on the spurs so im doing so you don't have to read or respond if you don't like what is being talked about . Thanks to those who actually responded to my question and did not just try and make me feel like a dumbass![]()
Actually, here is the remaining salary on his contract:
2008-09 $14.7 mil
2009-10 $16.0 mil
2010-11 $17.3 mil
What about those who responded AND tried to make you feel like a dumbass?
Well, your "ideas" aren't new is all. The search feature is up near the top of the page, slightly to the right of centre.
Randolph may be capable of 20-10, but have you seen him play? LOW bball IQ. Would never fit as a Spur because of that, his cancerous personality, his overblown contract, and the fact that he duplicates Duncan's game.
Lock it... oh no, that's right, this isn't SR!![]()
Yea this is why i asked .. i said i was not good with the salary stuff and i though if it was only Bonner , Elson and some cash that i would be down to get him
Don't take it personal. It was my way of saying the trade isn't feesable. I just didn't feel like putting into a full sentence.
Thank you for clarifying SenorSpur
zach randolph is a tool.
ESPN has something called the Trade Machine and RealGM has a trade checker. Start there if you want to know if a trade is merely possibe, which doesn't answer the question of whether or not it's plausible. In general, the salaries need to match within 20%. In addition to this, you need to consider the the type of contracts involved, long, short, etc...And, of course, whether or not the players would even make good basketball sense on the proposed roster.
For reasons already stated, Randoph makes no sense whatsoever.
Im not talking about starting him or anything just having him as another weapon because Bonner and elson are not doing it .
So you'd pay a guy 17 million a year to just be a back up center?Im not talking about starting him or anything just having him as another weapon because Bonner and elson are not doing it
That didn't work for the Knicks....
Bonner & Elson=$5.7mil...Randolph=$13.3= NO DICE
Just to reiterate:
Randolph may be capable of 20-10, but have you seen him play? LOW bball IQ. Would never fit as a Spur because of that, his cancerous personality, his overblown contract, and the fact that he duplicates Duncan's game.
Elson and Bonner will be superfluous in the playoffs when Pop plays an 8 or 9 man rotation anyway.
We can offer ELSON , But I doubt that they would bite
Hly Canoli!!
There's 48 million reasons not to sign him.
(There needs to be a little IQ test administered before being allowed to post a new thread.)
not to mention that his HS coach said that he looks at the paper every morning expecting to see a story of randolph having killed somebody.
