I'm in for another season. If there are changes, I would hope they are done before the season starts and not changed during the season.

That's my hope. Though I proposed a discussion at one point last season, I'm pretty much staunchly against changing the rules in midstream.
The revival of this thread is intended to create discussion of possible rules changes now, before the season starts.
Might be better to start a new thread . . . .

In...and I issue a direct challenge to timvp to join and face me based on his drafting ability...not his ability to switch out 45 different pitchers at 2AM in the morning.
You're better than that timvp(see the fantasy basketball and football leagues)...and I offer you the chance to prove it this year :tu

BTW, my solution for the adds drops problems...expand the rosters for the playoffs and then cut off any further transactions...just like they do in real baseball.

Actually, in real baseball, they expand the rosters before the playoffs and then contract them again for the playoffs and cut off further transactions -- teams go with what they've got (though they can change who's active and not between rounds)
I think the best solution is to either put a hard cap on transactions during the playoffs (a reasonable number per week, basically in the event of injury) or to completely prohibit transactions during the playoffs.
Another option is to put hard caps on position usage.
Still another is to use no counting stats (HR, RBI, K, W, SV) and use only metrics (winning percentage, save percentage, K/9 inn, etc).
I think the first two are more reasonable than the last one for a lot of reasons, but all of that can be discussed.
Meanwhile, I've set up a league that keeps all of last year's settings. I'll PM the information to last year's owners with a response deadline that will come pretty soon; after that, I'll open the league to others who might wish to join.

I'm in for sure, sorry I haven't been around much but been very busy.
I would like a cap on add/drops if at all possible for the playoffs. I like whottt's idea about expanding rosters but if you can't do that with Yahoo then a cap that we can all agree on is fine.
And whottt, it wasn't luck last season. You shall soon see. :)

There is a league set up on Yahoo. I sent along the sign-up information; haven't checked the league page yet to see who has joined, but I'll do that over the weekend.
After that, it's going to open season on spots, so if you're a returning owner and want to play, get on Yahoo and sign up.

OK -- at this point, I have 5 entered teams: FWD, ATRAIN, timvp, Melmart1, and slayermin.
I have a lingering invite to whottt.
That makes 6 of the 12 teams. Before the end of the week, I'll send the league information to the people who've expressed an interest in joining. If you were in last year and want back in for this year but haven't yet signed up, time is running out.

Probably tired of getting his asswhupped.
yavozerb
He'll be back.
Kori
By the end of the year her team was tougher than timvp's...she's probably gm'ing his team.
Johnny Blaze
He'll be back...
The Truth
Absolutely does not want no more of this league after last year.
degenerate_gambler
Probably out of money or something.

How much is the league and what are the rules?
Look I've never played before so this may be easy money for whoever wins...but I know a few things about baseball and I'm interested in jumping into the fantasy baseball thing.
So, if there's a spot for me, send me a PM with the rules and the cost...and I'm in.
