It's the regular season, people. Not the playoffs. Get a grip. Do you really want the Spurs to be the basketball equivalent of the Patriots?

Except that the West is like a yo-yo these days. And they can't win a championship the way they've been playing lately.

In case you didn't get the memo, it only takes 4 losses and teh Spurs don't even make the playoffs. So in essence, yes, these games should have somewhat of a playoff mentality.

How long till the Hornets fans start pouring in on ST?
Since the game was blacked out in NO, probably sometime after the local sportscast.

Of course undefeated is out of the question but come on. This is a game the SPurs have to show up for. I'd rather they lose to crappy teams than teams that they might face in the playoffs. And to make it worse they fucking get blown out.

With this Spurs loss, I can't believe the Rockets are now #2 without Yao. TMAC's gotta get some MVP consideration.

That's just amazing.

Duncan has his 40th dub-dub of the season...he's doing his part...but where's our D? The Hornets just can't seem to miss...NFW to beat a team shooting almost 60%.

The Spurs have given up...Hornets will win by 25...

At this rate Hilary Clinton has a better chance of winning than the Spurs do at making it out of the playoffs. If they even get to the playoffs this year.

CONFIDENCE. Everyone is hesitating on their shots. The ball isn't moving very well. I remember back in the season, teh spurs rotated the ball well from one side of the court to the other. It was a thing of beauty. Now it looks like an intramural team playing out there. The offense is stagnant. Motion away from teh ball is nonexistant. Defense has been pathetic as well. Spurs just do not have the right mindset right now. Honestly, the killer mentality is not there at all.

That's weird people used to say Robinson couldn't do it without Duncan. Like Kobe without Shaq or Phil Jackson without Jordon from 94-95.

That's actually true. More knowledgable basketball fans might credit the development of Scola and Landry and the maturation of Skip2, but these are writers we're talking about, so TMac will get all the credit.

Besides this horrible game, i blame Pop for one thing: He don't know what to do with his team...i'm tired to see a TIRED Manu coming on/off/on/off/on/off/on the bench, i'm tired to see Robert/Michael/Ime/Damon/Fabricio missing shoots and i'm TIRED to see a different starting lineup almost every night!!!

On this way, they don't know who they are :dizzy

TP was terrible on D tonight. It got so bad that Pop had to move Bowen over to CP3 late in the game. Worst of all, outside of Timmy, there was no intensity out there.

Well, we're virtually 5th in the West right now (Same losses as NO, once they play their remaining game, they own the tiebreaker), and if we don't pick it up we're going to have no homecourt advantage at all in the playoffs.

That's why it was a good thing to win 11 in a row. Come on look at the positive. If any of us had real sense about this team, or what Pop should do or intensity we wouldn't be online but on a NBA coaching staff. All we can do is cheer.....and complain. :toast

I'm not saying to fire him. Like there's even a remote chance of Holt doing that. He's as much, if not more, to blame as every single player on that team. His job is to get them ready to play? So far he's fucking that job up.

The Spurs offense sucks, the defense has been terrible of late. Part of that, I think, is because they still don't know exactly what their role is because they don't know what Pop will do at any given moment.

The way the bench has been sucking lately, I say make Manu come off the bench and stick with it. If the Spurs can't step up to the challenge, then they don't deserve the O'Brien this year.

Take it easy. I bet he does get them ready but can he control them on the court? Is he playing out there? When your math teacher said if you study these problems you will pass the test...did you blame the teacher when you didn't study? :nope

Right, so he needs to call them out for lack of effort or he needs to get canned. There's not any excuse for a team not to show up this many games in a row. Obviously they aren't tired or he would be limiting their minutes or lengthening the rotation.

LOL, I am probably one of the few people here not wanting to throw their tv's around. I've come to terms with their losing and winning. All the screaming I've done in the past never helped one single bit. As far as controlling them on the court.....that...is...his....job.

I'm pretty sure that Bowen won't get suspended. Paul threw some kind of semi-punch right before that and then was grabbing Bowen's leg. They might both get fines but I doubt Bowen gets suspended.

Yeah it's especially funny when it catches Spurs fans by surprise that Bowen's never been ejected. I spend so much time defending him I had to go back and look it up to make sure I wasn't just being a homer.

Crappy game. Hopefully the Spurs are getting some rest. I think I will too.

Allanon

I didn't see Chris Paul throw a punch, he might have grabbed him. Bowen on the other hand pretty much kicked Chris Paul. The angle on the Hornets telecast looked like he tried to knee Paul...but it happened so fast, it's hard to tell.

That might have turned the tide of the game because that's when the Hornet fans started getting into the game and booing the Spurs on every possession.

The league is pretty tight these days on that stuff, especially if the Hornets pull a Cuban and send in tapes. I could see a suspension for Bowen and possibly one for CP3 too if he threw a punch.
