The Spurs defeated Orlando with style...LUCK, LUCK, and LUCK...

The Spurs showed up pretty good today with an excellent victory and scored 107 pts!

Let’s start with Tim Duncan – who played excellent in defense – he really shut down Howard (as much as he can!) as blocking 3 of his shots – Timmy outplayed Howard in all key plays and the Top of the play was in the end when Timmy faked a shot, Howard went on the ‘air’ for nothing, and then Timmy passed him and scored easily almost a DUNK…payback time for last year’s dunk???

The entire Spurs bench was joking after the play! Maybe – anyway, Howard didn’t get a DUNK today…excellent “D” by the Spurs…

The Spurs had a GREAT LUCK again (a destiny to win it ALL???!!!) as Orlando got very early injuries – Nelson and Hedo left the game early which put the Orlando in very difficult position to win…Is this a LUCK to WIN or what? Last game Dirk, now even 2 starters from the opposition get injured and the Spurs win??? Even though I don’t like this kind of “gifts”, I guess the Spurs can take them…

Anyway, the first half was kind of “basket-for-basket” as the Spurs were really trying to stay close and do their “hit” sometimes in the 2nd half…

My HAT OFF to Michael Finley – everyone wrote him OFF for the season, but the OLD FELLOW showed us he is got a lot power LEFT in the tank…he was unbelievable and kept the Spurs in the game by scoring 24 pts today 9-13 shooting!!! Way to go! If Michael puts that kind of performance in the Playoffs, NOBODY can beat us…

The 2nd half started with the Spurs getting into a SHORT shooting slump, Orlando got the lead 69-61 and when everyone was thinking Orlando will beat us with margin, K. Bogans (who was 1-5 from the line) missed 3 FTS, and the RUN STARTED RIGHT THERE – the Spurs started played GREAT “D” and made the turnaround – from that point on we held Orlando to 4 pts in the rest of the quarter and scored 19 of our own –

- the run again was something like 13-0 or 15-0 (???), anyway this decided the game right there plus 2 critical blocks of Timmy on Howard sealed the deal right there…

Manu was the usual Manu – our LEADER with 28 pts, he was unbelievable as well!!! The Spurs MVP this season is MANU!!! Howard tried poorly to knock Manu down in almost fragrant foul in the 4th (a 2nd game in a row difficulties for Manu after Stack tried to choke him!), but Manu is strong, he can take it!!!??? Anyway the refs even didn’t give Manu the extra 2 FTs as they should have…Howard even didn’t get a technical foul on the play, ridiculous!???

Orlando tried to make a run in the 4th and cut the lead down to 3 (82-85) with almost 5 minutes to go, but then we held them (AGAIN!!!) for just 4 pts in the last 3 ½ min. (with 1 min. left the reserves played because the game was over!!!) and close them down with class…

Tony is really struggling – he needs to pick it up, otherwise, everyone else played really well –

I like the combo Bowen-Udoka together on the floor – it makes us really strong and tough in defense…

With that VERY IMPORTANT “W”’ the Spurs put themselves BACK into a position to attack the 1st place in the WC very soon – the next 5 games will be easier to win, especially the next 2 at home are against LAC and MIN, games we should win anyway, easily…Hopefully, the other teams with tougher schedule stumble…

Indy almost held up the Hornets today – with 4 min. left in the game the score was 102-100 Hornets, so I believe the Hornets will lose games on the road going forward – sure 2 losses are coming for them in the next 4 games – my prediction after the next 5 games: the Spurs will hold the NUMBER 1 position in the West…

It's not stupid. timvp is one of the smartest Spurs fans I've ever seen. His opinion is greatly valued here because he takes the time to rewatch games and carefully pay attention to as much detail as he possibly can. With that much memory of the game in his head, he assures a great recap of the game. I'd rather not write them because I don't have the time to watch every game, nor do I give as much detail as timvp, 2 fantastic plusses to why his opinion is so much valued.

Well, I agree Kori...I don't get it either...the truth of the matter is some people CANNOT write anything about the game, and they are waiting on someone else to follow. I think some people have taken offense to previous threads by "Manu Ginobili." Therefore, they automatically have a bad impression of whatever he is going to post. He has been obnoxious in some of his other threads before today. So I *think* that's why people jumped on him (I'm not sure).

Anyway, as long as he (and everyone else) doesn't start multiple threads about the same topic and tries to use paragraph breaks/punctuation to make his threads readable, then it doesn't matter.

timvp and I are pretty lenient here. And believe me, timvp doesn't care if anyone else posts their thoughts/opinions/analysis of the game.

Bottomline is ..

a) Though we appreciate the support of people in the forum, timvp and I don't need any moderators/administrators. And we certainly don't need people jumping all over new posters.

b) The ignore list is easy to use. If someone doesn't like a particular poster, they can click on their Control Panel and easily add that poster to their list.

Kori, I watched the game yes, I was delighted the way we won - the key was keeping the composure in critical moments and NEVER let those guys to take comeback and take over the game...we closed them with style, something lacking in prior games...I keep travel between USA and Europe every 3 weeks because of my job - Real Estate & Private Equity Deals, I am an investment banker, which is pretty exciting to be honest...so, I had the chance to watch the game today and Manu was great - he started slowly but really picked it up in the 2nd half, I am happy about Finley's performance as well - he is coming off a shooting slump, and I hope this 24 pts keeps him consistent -this is the key. If Barry comes back, Pop will have lots of options...I do TRUST Pop's opinion that for now, Manu should start OFF the bench and Finley should remain a starter...if we have problems in the Playoffs, Pop will always have the Option to start Manu in the 2nd half, and if we trail a series, my strong belief is Manu should be placed in the starting lineup...You know, I always vigorously question(ed) Pop and blame(d) him for a lot of things and missing the chances to repeat at least 3 times so far, but think about it, he has done very well by holding the ultimate winning record for a franchise...The only vital mistake I see that Pop made over the years was in 2004 - when he went small against Dallas Mavericks and we lost the series 3:4...This was critical, but still I am thinking, the refs helped Dallas tremendously in the 1st 4 games, so it was tough to beat them being down 1:3...

I see the team like this - Tony and Finley, Bowen, Tim and Oberto to start, then a rotation involving Vaughn-"Mighty Mouse", Manu, Barry-Udoka, Horry-Bonner, and Thomas; Thomas needs more minutes...Bonner is kind of sluggish...he had some good games, but lately is NOT performing at all from 3s...

I can understand sometimes starting a new thread for game thoughts since the timvp thread is usually just a bunch of ass-kissers like you stroking him off. Plus, sometimes it takes him some time to write those, so if he hasn't posted his thread yet (as in this case), what's the big deal with starting one yourself? If a thread is meaningless or pointless, it will quickly drop off the first page because no one will reply. Shit.
